City of Greyhawk, FTW.

I was a huge fan of the size and level of detail in Greyhawk, the city. Played and DM'd a ton through that city, to the point where I still remember it like a real place I've visited. Waterdeep was also cool.

I'd plunk down my money in a heartbeat for something like this done in any of the Pathfinder cities being discussed. Absalom would be my first choice because I don't know that much about it.

Disregard - just saw the FAQ, stating they don't sell single days. Still, seems odd to me that they aren't available for folks that live closer. A limited number of single day drop ins should be better than those folks not attending at all.

I cam agross this game on Kickstarter recently. There is only about a week left, but I thought I would share it in case people were interested.

It is basically a sandbox space exploration/combat/trading game for 3-5 players. Each player takes control of one ship, and can buy upgrades, trade or explore for money and victory points (called fame points) and eventually buy a bigger better ship.

The thing that looks really interesting is how open ended this is, you can win in many different ways, from trading, to piracy, to hunting down pirates for the bounty on them, or just plain exploring space and completing missions you can pick up. Most I imagine will do some combination of these things, but the options seem really intrguing. It strikes me as having a firefly sort of feel to it.

Bumping this - can anyone else confirm that their printed copy of this book has the correct front and back inside covers? Mine has the reprinted People of the River content. As mentioned, I know what it's supposed to look like, as the PDF is correct.

Greyhawk, mostly for nostalgia reasons, but I agree that Golarion does well in emulating most of the feel.

Birthright, bolted on to Golarion, would also be interesting.

The Hollow World basic D&D thing was also cool.

Not sure if I should ask for a replacement, or if all of them are screwed up, but my copy of the People of the Stars has the inside cover pages from the recent River book. Anyone else seen this? If mine is an oddity, please tell me how to get it replaced, as I assume there's missing content.

Is anyone else starting their Card sub with the character add-on deck seeing the base set added to their Sep order? I hoping it the normal sub whackery, but want to see if others see this too, or just me.

Mine was manually fixed a couple days ago, but this morning I'm also seeing a 2nd copy of the base in September. Not too concerned.

My email was waiting when I got home and the PDFs are on their way to my hard drive now! Hang in there, Sara Marie, you'll get through it!

I'm still waiting for the test environment to be finished building with updated data before I can check to make sure the tool that has been built for moving items is working as intended. Its been 2 days and no current ETA so I have begun poking orders by hand. I've done about 20 so far, I guess if I can't make everyone's order progress, maybe I can at least make a couple people happier?

Anything that gets me closer to the ACG PDF makes me happy. Hope the chaos diminishes soon for you guys. : )

I'm not worried about any make-up effort on the part of Paizo, as I don't feel burned in any way, just really want to read the new rules. I know it would only cast $10, but can't pull the trigger now that I've waited this long. : )

Not sure exactly where to ask this, so I thought I'd just put it here. Many of us enjoying using standees when playing PACG. They are made fairly easy to design due to the Paizo Community Use Policy and the package of images for the iconics.

Of course Ranzak isn't an iconic character. So he isn't in the package. But an image of his character token card did appear in the Paizo blog. Twice actually. So, that image would seem usable via the community use policy's line that "You may use any of the text or artwork published in the Paizo Blog at paizo.com/paizo/blog..."

Looking over the policy more carefully, the provision for using images from the Paizo blog seems to lack any restriction on altering the image. But since that prohibition is found on other sources of community use images, I wanted to double check to be safe.

So, my question is, would taking the character token image published on the blog and editing it so that it was only Ranzak and his parrot (i.e. removing the title box, background, etc.) so that it could be made as a standee, would that be a violation of the community use policy? And if it would be, what are the chances of an image of Ranzak being posted on the blog to be used for things like this? (And while I'm at it, what are the chances of the characters from the class decks that haven't already been posted on the blog also being posted so that we can make things for them too?)

Dumb question maybe, but by using a standee do you mean you place the character card next to the location deck, in a plastic stand? Cool idea. I'm relatively new to playing these sorts of card games.

I know this is likely to get lost in the shuffle, but I keep wondering if there's a way to have subscribers opt in to get their PDFs sooner. I'd happily let you charge my card earlier in the month to make sure my subscription provided PDFs are released as soon as possible, followed by the physical product whenever Paizo can make that work. I'm wondering a simple toggle on the sub page would make that a possibility. Lots of code underlying that, I realize, but sure would make a lot of subscribers happy, particularly in a month like this.

It's actually easy for me to picture this sort of office chaos - feel for you.

My theory:

Shortly prior to August 9th - The printer tells Paizo there's a problem. Their entire run of class decks is messed up. Also, a lot of the CAODs are also messed up, but not as many. They're going to crank as many class decks as they can in the time before GenCon, but will have no trouble meeting the CAOD requirements for the entire allotment (GenCon plus subscribers).
A DECISION IS MADE: to push back store copies of the class decks to September, but to push through with CAODs, not mention the potential shortage, and trust the printer's

Unfortunately, I believe your theory is largely correct. The one piece you left out of your timeline is the part that says watch your inbox for an email...which now apparently is going to go out Monday+. At this point, all I want that email to say is "here's a link to your digital purchases for the month of August and you'll get the physical components sometime in September."

To those who've stated that it's really not a big deal, I agree. The lesson learned in this case is - next August I won't bank on the usual early delivery of my PDFs for whatever August gaming I have scheduled. Instead, for August 2015 I'll tinker with my subs and plan to buy the digital product directly on the street ship date. Then in September I'll happily go back to my regular subs. Had I any inkling that I'd still be waiting on August 24th, that's exactly what I would've done this month, and for me there would have been zero stress.

For me, none of this is an indictment against Paizo's motivation. I literally adore this company and the products they make, and know they'll learn from this and improve their processes. Now, I'm going to go back to trying to beat that stupid Xanesha while I wait for my ACG to release. : )

To be fair, did you really have to "hunt and search"? Customer Service forum/August Shipment thread (They have done a monthly thread for quite some time in this exact way/place.).

Perhaps an email "in addition" to the thread would've helped, but let's not get too crazy.

I think the shock continues to be that this event doesn't match Paizo's usual standards of either efficiency or communication. I still don't have an email. Honestly, I'm surprised that this isn't being addressed over the weekend.

Somebody from down the road just came by and delivered my package. It was indeed sent to the wrong place, but I have it now.

Like others, I appreciate the explanation. What I don't know is, has anyone received the email? Under the circumstances, I would expect "near future" to mean Friday night, not the weekend or Monday. It's Saturday morning and still no "official" word on the status of my order, in spite of being past the anticipated shipping date. Again, in my case, I'm just waiting for release of my PDF for the ACG, and that's my personal frustration. I even debated running out to my local game store 20 miles away, but it's an expensive book at retail, so I think I'll wait.

My suggestion to you is don't make any more commitments on this issue until whatever it is, orders, emails, etc..., are flying out the door as you speak. It's not like the whole issue is killing me, but in my case it is affecting my ability to plan and deliver a gaming experience, so an "official" target ship date would help me keep my commitments.

I don't have much to add, except that I've been saying for a week that I only want my PDFs, so I can prep for a new campaign that's been delayed two weeks now due to not having access to the new class book. For future reference, if you'd offered the option to charge my card sooner and provide access to my PDFs, I'd happily wait another couple weeks or longer for the physical materials. This does make me wonder at the advantage of subscribing.

That's my minor rant, and I hope that you can adjust the PDF process next time you have a month like this. It really would have avoided the majority of the discontent from your subscribers.

The key difference for those Gen Con pick up people is that they're orders were "shipped" for pick up in our system and were no longer pending. Fixing a bug for people who were supposed to qualify is a lot different than forcing the system to do something that it isn't intended to do. And even that fix was a nightmare on my end.

Still a bummer that subscribers can't get their PDFs on the street release date, but I think I understand the technical issues. It's less too big to care and more we're not much bigger than we were a few years ago. Paizo, as a company, is still less than 50 people, including customer service and our warehouse staff. While we're normally able to fulfill subscriptions in a timely fashion, both August and December have a habit of stretching our capacities to the limit.

During August we have members of the shipping team at the convention keeping the booth flowing smoothly, in addition to it being one of the biggest release months of the year, meaning we have more products to ship than usual. We generally bring in extra people to help with the subscriptions, but it still takes us time.

We try to offer the best service we can with our subscriptions, but we realize we can't always be the best option for everyone, some months will push us to our limits, and while we do our best to hit them we can miss street dates for subscribers. If you feel that you'd be happier purchasing your books at your FLGS we totally understand and respect that decision. Even if you aren't purchasing the books directly from us you're still helping support the game, and we appreciate that. :)

Not a frequent poster, until this week. At least you can tell we're passionate about wanting your product. As I've implied in other threads, your team may want to consider changing your subscriber process to always allow PDF release on the ship street date. This would seem to be a software trick, as opposed to a physical labor issue. I'm not worried at all about getting the physical items, but sure would like to read the new rules.

I don't know how you code that process, and am not implying that it would be an easy change, but it would have avoided most of your subscriber distress this month.

I don't mean to sound like a smart a**, but from the main stickied thread, Sara Marie released the PDFs for those attending GenCon on August 8th. At least that's how it was phrased. I believe that made some of your subscribers twitch a bit, especially as we're still awaiting shipment. As previously mentioned, this was exacerbated by the fact that we could have had the PDFs last week if we'd just purchased directly, and that we're waiting for a major hardback and first book of a new AP.

On top of the above, for many (me included) S&S is showing back order status. Apparently a "glitch", as you've explained, but adds to the twitch factor while we patiently wait. : )

I have been a subscriber to the adventure path line since it's inception. I added the PACG line as soon as it was available. I probably wouldn't even post but you guys have spoiled me with your great service :)

I have been waiting to receive my e-mail to say my products have shipped soon or that my PDF for the adventure path was available. Today I decided to look at my subscription page. It shows my PACG box set and add on deck pushed back to September and my adventure path order pending.

First, Could I have access to the PDF for Iron Gods adventure 1 since the street damage has arrived?

Second, I am hoping the display is incorrect and my PACG subscription will still ship this month. Could I get a confirmation for this or at least an explanation of what is happening?

Any and all help you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

You're not alone. My S&S sub order has flipped back and forth at least a couple times the last few days. Mine now shows August and September, and I'm still pending. They'll get it together. : )

No class decks in my order; they're not part of the card game sub. As others have said, I don't mean to sound cranky about delays, but a PDF would have been awesome. Certainly not that big of a deal though. It's my punishment for too many subs. : )

If I'm not mistaken, Dunjinni is still very dead. Check their forums before clicking "buy" button. Which is a bummer because it's a very easy product to get into. CC is much tougher to learn, IMO.

First time I've been disappointed with being a subscriber. I understand the issues this month, but wish subscribers' PDFs could have been kicked loose on the street date. Seems odd since GenCon folks had theirs released early, if I understand correctly. Oh we'll, still patiently waiting for this month's goodies. As others have said, I still love your products and appreciate you guys.

Interesting idea for a product.

Love this add-on, and agree 100% with redcelt. As someone who lived through the TSR days of mass quantity and low quality (started in '83), I can't tell you how pleased I am with Paizo and third parties like yourself. The art, content, editing, volume, etc... of this product are of amazing breadth. You are also an excellent self promoter, but hey, it's justified. ; )

Please keep up the great work - can't wait for the war add-on and whatever else you have in store.

P.S. As long as the quality is up to this level, I have no issue with the pricing.

Take a look at the new Pathfinder Reference Document. Now take a look using your phone, or your iPad. Notice anything different? That's right, it doesn't suck anymore.

In addition to now including all the open game content from Ultimate Combat and the errata for the third printing of the Bestiary, the PRD is now optimized for tablet and mobile display. Before you ask, yes, that means iPhone, iPad and Android. Probably others, too, but that's what we tested on.

I have been showing this thing off to anybody I can corral here at the office. Lissa and Chris Lambertz have put in a lot of hours tweaking this thing and they deserve all the credit. Ross deserves some too, but he gets all the credit for making the Pathfinder Battles subscriptions working. So there's plenty of credit to go around! Except for me. I take no credit for any of this. Except to say, "Make it not suck."

Since this is a major revision of several hundred pages of content and navigation, there are bound to be problems. Please use this thread to let us know anything you find that needs to be fixed, and we'll fix it as soon as we can.

And yeah, searching the PRD kind of sucks. We're working on that.

Very minor - on the Settlements page, Table: Settlement Statistics, one heading says Qualitites. Typo. Thanks for all the great work here!
