I'm a tad embarrassed and frustrated by what I've been seeing from Obsidian in the Tablet game. I was very forgiving and hopeful at first, but as someone who works in Software dev I'm professionally embarrassed by the fundamental errors I've seen creeping in. Patches seem to be based off different software builds, errors that were fixed in one patch are back again after another. Core game system terms like display and reveal don't seem to be hard-coded in and the game confused the two as display. I've lost numerous parties to saving errors/corruptions and I'm going to leave story mode alone for I'm guessing a very long time. I've stopped adding bug reports to their support page as it seems to be a dog's breakfast over there. As usual with computer/video games a lot of time and effort was made to make it look nice and add cool chrome. Seemingly Fundamentals were not a massive priority. (I even looked if they had a job posted along The Senior PM and/or Release manager lines so I could back my words with some action, but no go. Nor could I afford to move to SoCal I daresay)
Guys, Love the game. It's been one of my best go to solitaire experiences in some time However as we discussed some months ago, the Army banes are crazily out of whack in difficulty for 6 player parties. So much so, that I would put forward the thought that you only playtest at the 2-4 level. (LOTR LCG suffered from a similar lapse at the 4 player count) So I am somewhat chagrined to open City of Locusts and find that the Onslaught on Drezen contains an Abyssal Army at each location. These armies have exactly 6 checks you can make; Combat, Combat, Arcane, Divine, Knowledge, and Acrobatics. The first 5 are fine, but Acrobatics is somewhat rare. So in essence a 6 player party must make 7x 23 checks with a single d4. Even if everyone throws in a blessing you are getting 7-9 d4 max. Since no one has the skill, your mythic paths are of no help in bonus, nor can you spend charges to gain access to a d20. This cannot have been looked at, as it is physically impossible to achieve 7 of these checks in a vacuum, much less a game in which @6 players you only refill your hands 4 times each before the end. (And where blessings are often used as explores due to the speed necessary to complete an 80 odd card challenge in 30 turns) My accusation that this wasn't looked at is somewhat confirmed by the Troop card we have available. Here we have a mechanism that could have provided a get out of jail aspect to a party missing a critical skill. But this opportunity was spurned and the skills listed on the troop card are Melee, Ranged, Fortitude, Knowledge, Divine and Arcane. Nice buffs assuredly. But no Acrobatics there either! So as I did earlier in the Adventure Path I will rule that a 3rd combat 40 check is available, and stop gnashing my teeth and tearing my beard regarding this issue.
This Aristocratic Demon Wizardress has the following text. "Before you act, if there are any other open locations, Vellexia is undefeated" So my question, since temporary closes occur before the phasing player encounters the card, do temp closes count as closing locations for the above? PS. this scenario is really brutal in 6 player! I thought I was doing quite well and then realized I was down to the last turn for everyone with three locations still open !
Would I be correct in assuming that the Vulture Demon's Before you act text, ( that you may not play boons that have the attack trait or weapons during this encounter) would not be mitigated by the Starbow's ability to override immunities? If the Starbow may not be played, it cannot activate its discard ability is my train of thought. And also, the wording 'may not play' also isn't strictly speaking identified as an immunity.
Gauntlet of Ruin is done and done! Forearmed with the knowledge that I should close the chasm of shadows up front that was achieved by the end of the second player's turn. Thanks to Alain and Imrijka's relentless advance through its location deck. And a liberal spray of blessings to defeat the Demonic platoon. The characters then split up to start closing other locations whilst Kyra remained at the forsaken Cloister to slowly work through that location while mainly playing her blessings on others. The recharge your hand upon encountering a demon or cultist was double edged, helping me as often as not. The frill necked lizard came into her hissing own in this scenario, loving her some Cultist leg! Balazar joined Kyra at the cloister once five locations were sealed, and lo! Eustorax came out and I accidentally on purpose made sure he evaded us. With the help of the banner of Valor we closed everything else then came back at the Cloister and sure enough it was Balazar whom again encountered Eustorax. Both he and Kyra made their wisdom 10 check and then throwing thekitchen sink at Eustorax his 22 check was made! 21 turns used up. No mythic charges, and no one really in danger of dying. We have come a long long way from the B scenarios I was shocked and somewhat embarrassed to find I would add 5 skill feats after such a cakewalk. I daresay the next set will challenge us even so !
I recently changed out my debit card and I got a payment declined notice from Paizo on my subscription I just checked and the new CC I had entered was also declined. Seems my billing address is (still) my old address! So trying to change that on this site I get a pop up window that lets me add my address but the window cuts off at the choose country drop down. Once I pick the USA I am unable to progress the address change. I will endeavor to get on a PC later today and change all that but I thought you would like to know of the problem
I'm writing this from memory, if I get it wrong please speak up. Before you act, every character at this location must summon and encounter Giant Maggot Swarm. I assume this includes the current player. Before you act, you take one combat damage I'm hazy on this one. Is 'you' the current player only OR the player encountering Giant Maggot Swarm, which would mean the current player twice takes this damage, and others present would take it once.
So I had decided to play Wrath of the Righteous using 6 of the WizKids Iconic Hero minis. Needing 3 from the latest set I order it via Amazon, and notice the delivery date might be as late as early June. I want to play earlier! So I order a second set from another vendor with a delivery date over the last weekend. I stayed at BGG-FAM games convention over the weekend. After exhaustion sets in, I go home early (very) Monday morning and there is no box at my door. Checking my emails both items should have been delivered and one to my locked mailbox! These Minis have escaped!! I thought I would share as seeing both go missing like that seemed remarkable. No Wrath for me just yet :/
And what a finish it was. Last possible explore turns up the Hurricane King with all his evil minions taken care of Seltyiel is able to deal with both checks, his 3d6 for a spell on top of his Adamantine trident being up to the task ( with a little bit of help from his friends of course) Congrats to the design team and to everyone involved. That was pure awesome
Had a REALLY exciting finish to this with virtually everyone except Jirelle finishing with no cards in hand and 2 characters on the verge of death Then the horror, I saw in another thread I played the enemy ship battles incorrectly and didn't add their classes to the check but rather how many classes showed up :/ I'm going to have to do it again. And that was hands down the toughest scenarios in PACG for me so far :/ Wish me luck!
So far we've had the following confirmed for Wrath Adowyn, Human Hunter
That's only nine of the eleven we will be seeing between the base set and the character add-on deck. I would be interested to hear your conjecture as to whom may be included in those last 2 bracket spots? Personally I would not be surprised to see Sajan, as his new miniature has a card that seems to indicate we have a new version of the character on the way soon.
And that's a good sign by the way, if you've ever worked with Australians you will know we are not shy about complaining, (We call it whinging) but I digress. My only complaint is that the recharge text doesn't 'pop out' of the card now that the recharge section was removed. If you just bolded say Divine 8 that would be such a help. I continually teach this game and newcomers almost ALWAYS miss this text and I have to remind them. And for those of us with eyes that are aging (ie. me) this would also be incredibly useful to quickly pick out the number I am looking for
