Man I miss Half Price Books (went to university in Ohio)!

Grand Lodge

Yeah, we had one where I lived in Texas. With a cat. I miss that cat.

Wait, did the Half Price Books have a cat where you lived in Texas or did you live in Texas with a cat where there was also a Half Price Books?

Can I have a half price cat even if I'm not Texas?

Hmm... We are going to get a cat soon. Half price cats might actually be helpful to me.

Unless cats are a common occurence at HPB, I used to go the same one. I loved that store.

Probably not as uncommon as one would think. Was it in Bryan, TX?

Wait, the HPB in Bryan had a cat? Why did I never know this back when I lived there :(

I learned two things today :
- Texan cats can read
- But they are cheap when buying books

...I don't want half a cat though. That could be messy.

May have been different time periods? I was there '91 - '96 (and, for the record, I am not an Aggie).

Yeah, it was. I was there from 2009-2015 (and, for the record, I am. Whoop!).

I wonder whether there are more spellcasters in the area? our Ezren could never recharge spells without a cat...

Well as long as you aren't telling MyFly or the Paizo lawyers about that promo card, we should be fine.

Don't you know that when you throw a cat-dice inthe air it always land on the same side?

I'm too busy trying NOT to think about pooping 3d4...

So, I've now discovered the extreme difficulty in getting a cat. Gone are the days of my youth were you could go to the pet store or SPCA and return home with a cat. Instead, I am required to fill out an application to which someone will respond in 5 business days. It includes a detailed plan of what I will do with said cat and permission to contact my employer. And that was the "easiest" application process. Another one wanted to schedule a visit to my home prior to giving me a cat and then also schedule a visit a week or so after I had the cat to check in on it.

Now I've got 3 applications pending for over a week but I'll probably just end up finding someone with free kittens. The adoption method would save me money, but at this point it just isn't worth it. Have human beings been so cruel to cats that this is where we are as a society? It makes me sad to think so.

To become happy again I shall go play some pathfinder adventure card game.

That IS sad. When I got my cats, I adopted them from an ad in the paper because I wasn't allowed to have cats in my apartment at the time. (This may be the least lawful thing I have ever done in my life.) When we adopted my mother's cat, we got her that day. But it now occurs to me that this was ten years ago. (God, I'm old. Happy birthday, me.)

It may be worth noting that one of my cats is living proof that sometimes cats make it more difficult to play PACG. Rebel Song can attest to this. BUT! She also sits in laps while we play, and is mostly manageable and adorable.

Clearly, a Very Good Kitty(tm). As all bits of PACG are cat toys anyway, she's probably not so much making it difficult to play as correcting your technique.

She likes to walk all over the board while we're playing (mainly before we sit down, because we're getting food and not paying attention to her) and then all the location decks kinda slide all over the place when she flops onto her side.

But I like when she sits in my lap. Because I get to pet her and she's SO SOFT (and teeny)!

My boyfriend adopted both of his cats. The more jittery one apparently "grew up on the streets." Explains why she's so skittish, I suppose. She has taken to following me around the apartment, adding 2 to my spell recharge checks.

It's a mix of geographic demographics and local demand that causes situations like this. Your area probably has several no-kill cat shelters, a low feral population, and mostly-empty animal control centers, too. In Seattle, you basically can't adopt a dog from the pound because demand for dogs is so high. So the rescues and no-kill shelters want to make sure they place cats with people who won't return them/abandon them/declaw them/put them on Craigslist.

<end cat-shelter-volunteer spiel> #themoreyouknow #spayandneuteryourpets

Anyway, I approve of your coping mechanism.

No, I am sorry. I have known this cat for 11 years. Absolutely nothing she does can reasonably be construed as helping in any way.

They've also now got about 6 or so Class decks from the original line for $6

Scarab Sages

We got a cat recently. It's not a pet, though, it's a familiar.

Hopefully this thread means we're going to see a catfolk character at some point. A catfolk wizard with a cat familiar would be too boss.

I have the opposite problem: I can't give my cats away fast enough. They keep making more. And if that's not bad enough, people from town drop cats off at my house because it's just off the highway and farm people always love and want your unwanted pets, don't ya know?

Repeat after me...

"Good kitty."

I did finally get a kitten. Two actually. They are doing quite well. The first has been named Princess Blossom Pepperdoodle von Yum Yum. The kids are waiting for the day we take her to the vet and the vet has to say her whole name. They think it will be hilarious. The second one is named simply Diasy for now, but they are working on a longer for of her name.

Silver Crusade

Aw, kitties! May they be sedate creatures who never flop onto the middle of your playspace.

Grand Lodge

Isn't it easier to call the second one Daisy?

Probably. But they want to communicate the often pretentious nature of the cats. We just call them Blossom and Daisy personally. But they want to write their full long names on any paper work for them.

So, I just now noticed that I misspelled Daisy and thus missed Theryon's joke. Though, now I am considering spelling it Diasy and telling people it is still pronounced Daisy.

Grand Lodge

Get your kids to sign off on it ... they're the ones that are going to be spelling it in crayon on your walls.

EDIT: :-P (I resemble that comment!)

Silver Crusade

The kids are singing about it? Now who's making the typos ripe for mocking...

I think you mean, "Dignified and Aloof".

The Paizo lawyers checked that link FIRST and now it is broken and Frencois is facing a trial with life sentence.

Who is *brave* enough to offer me a mirror link for that unseen digital data?

The link works fine for me. Myabe they blocked it just for you? Maybe they blocked all the links related to Promos just for you? :D

It's probably the feds or Bundesnachrichtendienst. They caught onto MyFly's Promo counterfeiting ring and are closing in.
