@All - just wondering whether Edric wanted to go to Crimmor to buy a crossbow on the lowdown/cheap before we head back in…down…
Alitja doesn’t need anything, and is ready to descend - just wanted to check that we are all ready to go…
Corrina Hallows
Ooops, sorry, didn't mean to skip that, thanks for the catch Alitja.
How far east is the most honestly named town, Crim(e)mor(e), for some under market goods?
Alitja
Although I haven’t tacitly “moved” I am having trouble parsing distanced that people are moving from their posts. When I look at the map, Eldric seems to have moved from the mouth of the cave, but his post didn’t specify a distance.
I would prefer if people state their actions more clearly: Standard Action: OSW, true to form, complains about lack of clarity; Move action: Takes it to the Discussion thread (x distance in feet); Swift Action: Continued to be daft.
Or something similar. That way actions can be regulated easily particularly if they need to be amended, or ret-conned.
Of course this is by no means an official requirement, and GMO seems ok with the current…approach. I’m just finding it a bit…chaotic.
And no…I don’t understand Delaying in this edition or PF2 so I make no apologies for not following my own requested format as Alitja is essentially…doing not much. ;p

Hey OSW, your post is perfectly on point.
I am just trying to 'go with the flow' so the game keeps moving. As long as people are aware that vague declarations of intentions will become fully dependent on DM fiat and assumption, we're good. But if there are very clear intentions in mind, they should be clearly stated, otherwise I will just go off my assumptions. And I am not telepathic... Yet ;)
GM - Obermind
And everyone, I want to grab this opportunity to reiterate some things from my original 'Interest Check' Post:
Style & Expectations
- Old-school inspired: risk, consequences, and resource management matter
- Exploration and adventure focused, with meaningful danger, player agency and decisions
- Combat is not always balanced - retreat is a valid option
- Marching order matters
- Character death is a real possibility
And a suggestion - ponder your surroundings, engage with the environment, look at the map, read the posts from the DM and from one another, you are a group, you have valuable information you can use to overcome challenges. Do not hesitate in asking questions before you decide how to act. If you want a faster response, Discord is always an option.
Combat is a dangerous affair, so attacking something simply because it is there can be absolutely fine, or can be a big mistake. Does it bring you any advantage? Is it worth it to risk a combat, or is it just better to go around it?
Katara Akshay
I think it's an absolutely fair call out, GM! And I fully agree. I'm acting as Katara would - as soon as she spotted the creature, she would start firing, but will likely retreat again if she understands it's not a fair situation. Plus, I've been counting her arrows as you asked, and will craft more when we have downtime :)

So, how exactly do you guys want to proceed with this adventure? Are we going to really go player knowledge, seeing the “enemy nameplate is red” and avoiding it, reading the monster description on the book to know how it behaves, or actually acting the usual an adventure party would? How the hell would someone know if this past combat was beyond or not our capabilities if we had just literally started it and the creature was apparently harmed by our actions?
Without any kind of knowledge check to exactly tell us what we’re dealing with, or any other check to know how harmed it was or how close we were to beat it, are we to pretend the gods told us it would still last longer? And how would we know it’s not the same in every single other combat since most of the time, combat would t be over after an enemy is hit by an arrow and a couple missiles? Or are we carrying something that magically tell us we’re dealing with a non appropriate CR3 encounter, instead of a CR1 or 1.5 that would be closer to a party of level 1s?
Sorry for the blunt honesty, but the way things got handled felt absolutely ludicrous to true role playing, and more akin to video gaming. Or are we going to be throwing rations to every group of kobolds we find, then assume the almighty posture and announce “we have to be smart about the combats we choose”…? Sorry for the frustration, but the whole thing looked crazy fishy. And as much as I like the character I built and some of my peers playing here (I’ll see you on the other games we play together!), I feel it’s best if I just step out. It’s not about the challenge - I have been playing for 4 decades and I’m used to finding encounters that truly force us to retreat - but it has to do with the way things are being conducted.
Still, wish you all fun. GM, please remove me from the campaign so it doesn’t appear in my game list, and thanks again for the invite.

I would respond, but I think it would take us down a never ending rabbit hole. Even more so if I was also bluntly honest on what I think about your approach as a player, like you did regarding my ludicrous GMing. And if we started discussing almighty postures... Well then for sure someone advocating to know what is 'true roleplayimg' takes the cake for sure.
I will just say there were many decades of gaming before anything like Knowledge rolls ever existed. Part of adventuring is the mystery, the NOT knowing exactly what you are facing, but learning from experience. In any case, there was a knowledge check rolled for this encounter, and information was provided.
So I will just thank you for playing, and remove you from the game. Best wishes for your games.
I will let the others comment if they feel the need to.

The druid told us the fungus eat flesh, that it was able to slowly move.
Besides, we SAW it rotting the flesh of Korgo, and I guess/suppose we saw it move.We SAW its dangerosity in hand to hand combat, that's why we tried ranged weapons
Myankar is smart and wise (12 Int, 15 Wis), probably more than his player, so I tried something that could help us getting rid of the creature without any metagaming. I wasn't sure it would work, but it was worth a try.
Corrina Hallows
I’ll also step away from this game. Thank you very much for the opportunity to play. I’m not a great fit for it, and I think you can find someone that is a better fit while the campaign is still new. Best of luck to all of you!
GM - Obermind
Does anyone know what Bacchus-Dionysus favored weapon is?
Edit I found it … great club
Hey Smiles-a-lot, it has been days since your last post. I hope all is well with you.
Let me know if you are still interested in the game. If you are pressed for time and/or have no availability, no harm, no foul. Just let me know. Thank you!
GM - Obermind
I’m good and available. I wasn’t sure how you were going to introduce my PC. If you want me to just hop in I’m fine with that.
Your character does not seem finished - or I am not seeing anything in the alias.
GM - Obermind
Duh.. I didn’t transfer it from my note pad. It’s there now, apologies.
He will be a bad touch cleric with the madness and animal domains as well as negative channeling.
Solid! One observation for now - let's stick with no scores below 8 or above 18 after racials.
GM - Obermind
Thanks! I am just waiting on feedback from another player, and then I will bring you in shortly.
In Gameplay I am waiting for someone to take some decisive action :P
Rianna Tommas
I'm waiting on the caller to say what we're doing?
GM - Obermind
Like I have explained before I select a random caller for individual situations - it will not always be the same person, and in theory a Caller should not always be needed.
The group is expected to be able to make decisions somehow, and the caller is only a last resource kind of thing.
Come on gang, you've all been at this for some time, and should be able to keep a game moving without me needing to poke you at all times. Also I am not interested in having to chase you to play a damned game. If we're not interested enough, I'll find something else to keep me busy.
GM - Obermind
You know what guys, I am pulling the plug on this one.
I do not feel the engagement from you as players, and I do not feel engaged myself as a DM. Clearly expectations are not aligning.
So I want to apologize for having wasted everyone's time, and wish you all great gaming around the Paizo boards. I will stick to being a player, so hopefully I will 'see you' here and there.
Take care!
(I will move this game to inactive tomorrow)

Ok, thanks for your work.
