Zinari's order will be fixed next time I list the tracker, the scouting bonus didn't change the order.

We are very close to done in case you want to double check your info on the sign-up sheet, or conduct any downtime that you'd like me to represent on the sheet.
Remember, it's up to you to choose the right task level and identify the DC and outcome of your earn roll if you choose to earn income.
Specifically:
This table is a modified version of the Earn Income table from the Player Core PC pg. 228 that uses a default Task Level of your character's level - 2.
I'll add this to campaign details too for reference.
Barnaby Bleck

Between scenarios, Barnaby will be spending his downtime crafting potions and elixirs and selling them at the local potion shops. Maybe one day he can open a shop of his own in Absalom.
Craft, Earn Income DC 14: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 ; Success, 4 sp.

I am too superstitious to make a post-game roll before the combat is over. I do intend to do some earn income between scenarios, assuming we don't all die to this smoke rat thing.
| GM PaleDim |
I believe in you all! You're this one combat away from finishing what is considered by some to be a particularly lethal scenario.
I'll tell you that you've seen the worst of this creature and there are no more tricks hiding within :sweats:
Seeker.

Oh, studying in the library! What a joy! And to be able to get paid for it, too? Elysium could offer nothing better!
Earn Income (Acadamia Lore) DC 14: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Success for 0.4 gp

OK, now I feel safe to roll the downtime.
In between missions, Gari spends a little time trying to get some extra coin by performing in taverns. He's recently heard a bawdy new song that he thinks might please the drunken crowds, in which the singer muses about the night-time activities of the mother of an unknown listener.
Performance, DC 14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Success for 4 sp.

Can I do something about Seeker’s persistent fire damage?
See "Assisted Recovery" here.

If Zinari survives, she won’t push her luck at the roulette table, so she’ll stick with a game of skill: poker.

Chronicle 2 has been posted: Chronicle Sheets (remember this link will always be available in the campaign header)
The game has been reported.
I'll give Kiragio and Cromm a little more time in case they want to conduct downtime.
I need a couple of days to prepare for the next scenario (this week has been too hectic to work ahead :sweats:)
Garirenikke

A couple of between scenarios bits:
1. I'll have a GM glyph for the next scenario. My first thought was to give out the extra hero point to Seeker, so that she will have one to reroll a skill or something and then another for emergencies. Any other ideas?
2. I'm thinking about nabbing the +1 shortsword we had on our chronicle from the first game. I chose a rapier initially because I liked the idea of the deadly d8, but I'm contemplating the relative benefit of having the agile weapon that's versatile piercing/slashing as my main choice instead. Input is welcome.

Right, but I'm looking for everybody to understand and report what that means in terms of the earn income result, what DC you roll against, proficiency of the skill used, degree of success. Your DC is 14, so in your case it's a critical success.

Ah, got it. So in my case, a Trained Success gets me 4sp. The crit makes my effective level 2, but that doesn’t change the result, so the net reward is 4sp. Correct?
| GM PaleDim |
It does change the result.
For a scenario you get 8 days of downtime.
Task level 0, trained success gets you 5cp / day or 4sp for 8 days, which is what most folks got.
The crit success shows task level 1 with 2sp/day or 16sp for the scenario. So your chronicle shows at extra 1.6gp.

In my downtime, I will make 4 Minor Healing Potions. Cost = 2 gp
Craft using Nature: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Success
Each additional day (6) lowers the cost by 0.2 gp.
Cost lowered by 1.2 gp
Additional expenditure = 2 - 1.2 = 0.8 gp.
Total expenditure = 2.8 gp.

The lorespire one takes the society assumption of task = level minus 2 and just encodes the same table as character level. So when this happens:
Critical Success You do outstanding work. Gain the amount of currency listed for the task level + 1 and your proficiency rank.
I think what is confusing is that you DO in fact raise the task level, regardless of how you got there. So it's 0 becomes 1, NOT "level minus 2 becomes level minus 1, same result"
Hopefully that explanation makes sense :sweats:

Hello. This is an FYI that I'll be away in nature (on a river in Oregon) and not have reliable access to internet to post over this next weekend, which is a long weekend for a US Holiday.
That's from Friday evening (US/Pacific time), 5/22 through Monday 5/25. I get back pretty late so it's not very likely I can resume posting that evening. I will resume posting on Tuesday 5/26.
This game will essentially need to take a short break over that weekend, but don't hesitate to continue posting based on where I leave us off (perhaps Q&A or knowledge checks at that time?) and RP'ing as you naturally might.
| GM PaleDim |
Noting (maybe more for myself), there are still 73 days until GenCon, so I suspect we'll get through one more scenario, possibly two before all become replayable.
| GM PaleDim |
The signup for the next scenario is live:
Not urgent, but certainly needed before we complete this next one.
| GM PaleDim |
And, we're off with the next scenario!

Between adventures patch note:
* Purchase +1 Shortsword (35gp, available at level 1 from 99-01 chronicle)
I decided to go with the agile MAP and versatile S in hopes of getting a second hit in one round rather than chasing the deadly d8 from the rapier.

My wife and I did a PNW trip a few summers ago and we spent a day along the Columbia River Gorge, incredibly beautiful scenery and some cool man-made things to see too with the Bonneville Dam/Fishery stuff. Enjoy the nature!

Sure.
| GM PaleDim |
Awesome. Decide who to give those to!
| GM PaleDim |
Gari donates a glyph to Seeker.
Kiragio to ??
Cromm to ??
Garirenikke

On the large array of available loot items from Rain:
Four minor healing potions
11 of our choice of alchemist's fire, acid flask, thunderstone, tanglefoot bag
Since Cromm and Barnaby have some healing already in their kits, maybe one healing potion to each of the rest of us?
With the other items, again since Barnaby can do the fire/acid already himself, maybe each of us takes two of our choice except for Barnaby, who chooses one?
If that's agreeable, Gari will choose an alchemist's fire and a tanglefoot bag, and will take one of the minor healing potions.
EDIT: In trying to be fair in giving stuff out, I didn't think about things like "Barnaby is best positioned to actually successfully throw these things in combat" which is in fact a substantial consideration! Thanks to the GM for the friendly critique on the strategy.
Instead of what I originally suggested, maybe each of us except for Barnaby takes one for a just in case situation, and Barnaby loads up on his choice of six items to supplement what he's already able to prepare each day? Anyone who decides they don't have any use whatsoever for a ranged throw attack item can let Barnaby have one more.
As Gari has a good Dex and maybe would hit with a throw, he will take one and go for an acid flask. Might as well try to get some persistent damage.
(Unimportant detail: Post-remaster, it seems that the tanglefoot bag is called a lesser glue bomb, and the thunderstone is a lesser blasting stone.)
| GM PaleDim |
Thank you for kicking off that discussion Gari. There are an odd number of alchemicals so if most get 2, one person will get one. Also theyre most effective in Barnaby’s hands. That’s not to say you want to get all 11 to him, there’s still something to be said about them come from many characters in combat. Do with all of that what you will :)

Have edited the above in light of this helpful comment. I really didn't think about the varying level of skill at making ranged throw attacks across all of our characters, kind of an essential part of who can make use of the stuff.
Kiragio
|
Let's give the Glyph to Gari.
Kiragio will not take an alchemical item. He's not interested in throwing anything.
Barnaby Bleck
|
Barnaby's all for having more bombs to throw! Will help Barnaby save on versatile vials. Yeah the action economy for a non-bomber alchemist is rough, as you have to interact to draw, then throw the bomb. For Barnaby, it's just one action.
With everyone except Kiragio taking one item, that's seven left, right? If everyone is okay with this approach, Barnaby will select the following:
3 alchemist's fires
1 acid flask
2 glue bombs
1 blasting stone
| GM PaleDim |
Sounds good to me. Track your temporary items and remember they don't carry over to next scenario. Bombs away! :)
Seeker.
|
Seeker will take a minor healing potion, so she can pour it down someone's throat (or someone can pour it down hers). She won't take any of the alchemical items, as she only has +1 DEX. Cantrips are a better choice for her.
Barnaby Bleck
|
Sounds good, another Alchemist's Fire for the pile! I've placed a spoiler in Barnaby's Character page to track these.
| GM PaleDim |
Okie, it looks like the site might be back to (mostly?) working order, and I'm back from my trip. I'll kick us off again momentarily.
| GM PaleDim |
And we're off again! Thanks for your patience. Hopefully the site continues behaving.
