Thark checking in. I am traveling this weekend, and might not be available in a regular way, but happy to be selected. LMK if you need me to provide anything before we get started.

Thanks for choosing me. After I finished putting this character together, I got really excited to play him. :D

Strange scrappy fungus monk checking in! Glad to be here and look forward to playing with you all :)

Edit: Before we finalize characters, we should probably make sure skills are decently covered. Is someone planning on taking Medicine or Thievery? Those are probably the two most irreplaceable ones.

Right now I'm looking at Athletics and Nature which I'm pretty set on but my third skill I could be flexible (leaning towards Stealth or Acrobatics right now).

My edit was ninja'd lol

I put together a simple spreadsheet to assess the skill coverage (HERE). We have good coverage and pretty decent redundancy for RK and Thievery. We can edit it if/as we make tweaks to our characters.

For our GM, the player guide states there’s opportunity to use downtime activities like Crafting across the length of the AP. Will that be the case for your rendition?

Gexi checking in here as well. Glad to be joining such a fun looking group.

Gexi will be among those focusing on thievery. Might take medicine at some point, but my healing will likely come from alchemy, and isn't going to be the primary focus.

I am highly interested in this answer.

And a general question to the group, which is more for future consideration, who would appreciate having a poisoned weapon? Part of the idea is to share them among the group. Along with antidotes, just in case.

Wang won't really have the action economy for poisoning his weapons. What I'd appreciate is a steady supply of Silvertongue Mutagens and Bravo Brews. Theatrical Mutagon might also be useful, but probably at higher tiers.

I had been entertaining the idea of taking Alchemical Crafting myself to make them on my own before we snagged ourselves an alchemist. On the other hand, I could take Magical Crafting if there will be significant periods of downtime to merit the feat expenditure. Alchemical Crafting is easier to justify.

Thark is +6 Medicine, and will take Battle Medicine when the opportunity arises. He has 4 Heal spells to start as well. He can also Treat Poison in case something goes wrong above. His only real Knowledge is +6 Religion.

He can and will heal, but will also have some melee firepower with high STR and a greatsword in honor of Gorum, his deity. Not much AC at present, but can work on that later.

Clarification on my grammar in my post about the skill coverage.

1) We have good skill coverage. Every skill has someone trained in it.
2) We have pretty decent redundancy for RK skills and Thievery.

Thark is the only one trained in Medicine.

If there's an occultism cantrip or spell that synergizes very well with your combat role/tactics, let me know. There are more spells than I can take, but I'll weigh anything that works extra well for my team higher than something equivalent that doesn't.

I'm sure this is common knowledge, but I'd recommend Expert in Medicine at 3rd and Continual Recovery ASAP. The hour-long cool-down between Treat Wounds is a real drag.

I've got Soothe so that in-combat healing can come from at least 2 of us.

EDIT: Oh, I was planning to take Hymn of Healing (1st vs. 3rd), so I actually can heal like a Champion by Focus recycling (8 hp/rank/10 minutes). I forgot I could do that.

I'm planning on unarmed attacks only (including the leshy seedpod feat for an unarmed ranged attack) so I won't usually have anything to poison lol.

I'm putting focus into combat maneuvers (disarm and trip with Reflective Ripple stance and probably grapple with the Wrestler archetype, which is my current choice for free archetype) so I'll be able to shut single enemies down and wale on them. I'm using a buckler instead of a stronger shield so that I can attack even with a grappled target in the other hand. I'm small sized which does limit things a bit but Wrestler gives you Titan Wrestler for free which will help mitigate that.

This is a link to a spreadsheet we can use to track our loot, stake claims, and calculate shares.

@GM I know there are bottled sunlight rations for plant leshies, can I assume I can find similar rations at the same price for my fungus leshy? I plan on subsisting on natural stuff like mushrooms do usually but I want to have backup rations in case the pickings are slim.

I was more intending that people could start with their weapon poisoned to add a bit to the first attack. The poison should remain as long as it's one of the infused or crafted ones (not really if it's made with quick alchemy).

I was also planning on taking magical crafting at level 6, but alchemical will be the main focus I think. Especially since I am taking specialty crafting at level 2.

I reduced my Intelligence by 1 and increased my Dexterity by 1.

This improves my mundane attack modifier, AC, and Reflex defense at the expense of 1 skill training, 1 language, and reducing my modifier in Arcana, Crafting, and Occultism.

Sacrificed training in Stealth (the other contender was Deception, but I figured a storyteller should be able to spin a yarn even if I don't have a planned use for it).

I figure this will have a bigger impact on short-term/low-level survivability. By 5th level, I can be back where I was.

Pileus is a hermit who lives in the woods near town most of the time but you've still probably seen him at Cayden's Keg every week or so or participating in prize fights or possibly in a bar fight--he doesn't start those but he does sure finish them.

Gexi is a stranger in town, but likely would have arrived a little ahead of time. He's not standoff-ish though, so if others would have engaged him in the inn/tavern, he'd gladly talk to them. It sounds like Pileus may have at least seen Gexi.

If Pileus would be inclined, Gexi might approach him to see if he would know of any local poisonous mushrooms. Gexi wouldn't even consider if this would be offensive, he's just excited to learn about things and an opportunity might be there.

Pileus would never pass up a chance to discuss his favorite subject. He considers all fungi friends and loves talking about them, although he would disapprove of harvesting fungi for purposes other than sustenance or medicine. Not sure how open Gexi would be about wanting to make poisons out of them.

Wang is definitely new to town. I expect he would have arrived the day before and spent a night at the inn. He'd certainly have played for his supper (and just because).

However, because I've spent way too much time thinking about Wang's reaction to him, I'd like to meet Pileus for the first time after the posting has started. :)

He would be very excited to share in a love of fungi and wouldn't shy away from his reason. But if it was clear that Pileus found the idea distasteful, he would stick to the medicinal nature (as well as food). He's an excitable and friendly rat, not a poison fanatic.

Of note, if you want to play up Pileus' distaste at fungus based poisons, Gexi would totally respect that and not make or use them. At least eventually once they become friends.

Thark is new in town. If he runs into someone at the tavern etc before the Call that's fine. Otherwise, meeting there is ok too.

Anyone who frequented the Wizard's Grace in the day prior to current events could at least recognize him by sight and have gleaned that he is a musician. He tried the Pickled Ear, but was too early and the wrong tempo for that venue. He tried Cayden's Keg, but the proprietor kept pushing his drinks too hard. So frequenting the other bars could allow some recognition.
