Any way to change the fact that it shows as filled? It might be possible people have glanced at the sheet, saw it says 6 and then moved on
Also, first time playing first edition. I’m strongly considering a pregen to not overcomplicate myself but I’m still not fully decided

I believe they're working on getting that 6th spot filled.
Welcome to PFS 1e, Anita!
Play whatever you'd like. The beauty about play by post is that you have several hours between posts to decide what your character is going to do, what skills to use, looking over your sheet, etc...
However, the specials games are a little bit quicker. We're going for 2 to 3 posts per day. Usually there's always a player that lags on keeping up.
So, all in all, play what you'd like! Feel free to wait until the other players join in to see what they're playing, and if the party needs a rogue to round out the group, then it may be a good idea to play a rogue.

By the way, everyone, our table starts with an Aid Token. There's an aid token reference sheet in the slides, so have a look at that.

Unfortunately, the incorrect formula is in a protected column, so no. I did everything I could here on the forums: I announced the vacant seat in the PFS1 Lodge (Flaxseed) and even posted a solution in the official GAMEDAY XIV Announcement Thread.

Welcome to PFS1e! If you have any questions, do not be shy, just ask away, we don't bite. ;-)

Info: As we already have an arcane caster (a summoner) I'm currently thinking about playing my investigator with the Trapfinding class feature and a good Disable Device skill. But if you want to play a rogue, Arita, I can play my sorcerer, no problem! :-)
An investigator adds 1/2 his level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device checks (minimum 1). An investigator can use Disable Device to disarm magical traps.

I thought about it some, if you don't mind, I think I'd like to play Merisiel!

No problem at all! :-)
I'll play my little pyromaniac sorcerer gnome, then.

GM Roll4initiative |

Hi, everyone! I'm assuming we're going to be starting soon. Probably in the next 12 hours or so. Go ahead and dot & DELETE in gameplay if you haven't already. Also, make sure your character profiles are complete with easy to read headers (i.e. no spoiler tags, or extraneous info). Keep those headers simple. ;)

GM Roll4initiative |

Oh actually I need to figure out how to use alias's...
Looks like you figured out how to use an Alias.
You'll need to fill in your header with your PC's info. Let me see if I can dig up the drive file with my template. Here it is:
PbP PC Template.
Just copy and paste it into a notes app or however you want to do it and change the info to your character's info. Then post it into your Paizo profile for your character.

GM Roll4initiative |

Does that look right? The formatting looks terrible
Looks great! Feel free to look at any of my PCs or the other players' PC profiles to find a format you like and adjust accordingly.
I enjoy having all of my weapon attacks, damage, skills, and everything else tagged with dice expressions.

GM Roll4initiative |

Everyone,
When you get a moment, please enter your Initiative and Perception modifiers on slide 2.
Also, a couple of you still need to enter your info in RPG chronicles. Thanks!

![]() |

Will do so soon-ish. ;-)
Question: I may have a 6th player for this game... When will you close this table in regard of adding players?

![]() |

Signed up on RPG Chronicles.
I tried to enter the modifiers on slide 2, but I cannot edit the slides: they are in "read only mode" (translated from german).

I think I'm allowed to take a new player within the next couple days, before we move on to the next act.

@GM: I put yellow question marks into a few squares between tree of the enemies and Brat. Do any of these squares count as difficult terrain?

GM Roll4initiative |

@GM: I put yellow question marks into a few squares between tree of the enemies and Brat. Do any of these squares count as difficult terrain?
Nope. However, I moved them into areas that are and changed them to exclamation points!
Also, you placed your icon in a square that had less than 50% showing within the red box. I moved you to a full 5' square to start in.

![]() |

@GM: Would an Oil of Bless Weapon be a legal choice since it's an oil and not a potion?
I'll double check his gear for any other purchases and try to get them up by tonight but it might be tomorrow morning. Ekadan doesn't have the gold for anything major so it would be potions, oils, scrolls, alchemical gear, etc.
Unless you count an alchemical silver weapon as a major purchase; I just noticed Ekadan doesn't have one!

OK, thanks! What about the new red question mark? Brat is a small character, can she enter this square normally?
Also: If I were to cast burning hands, in which direction does the cone go originating from the, let's say, eg. upper right (=north east) corner? Can I choose a direction (e.g. north east, south east or north west) or is it fixed diagonally north east)?

![]() |

Brat: Ekadan can certainly use a Potion of Enlarge Person but, particularly at low-level, action economy often dictates the melee goons wading into combat at first chance. You might want to consider a potion that anyone can use. Some good choices:
1) Oil of Bless Weapon (if allowed): Read the spell description but basically if we have undead to deal with this could be very helpful.
2) Protection from Evil: +2 deflection bonus to AC and +2 resistance bonus vs. evil creatures.
3) Hide from Undead: Automatically works on mindless undead but intelligent undead do receive a save.
4) Oil of Magic Weapon: For the non-evil creatures with DR/magic or if you to give +1 hit and damage.
5) Mage Armor: In case of incorporeal undead.
6) Shield of Faith: +2 deflection bonus to AC.

I got no idea what kind of potion to go for -- where can I see them / do you guys have any suggestions for me?
Archives of Nethys, go to Spells, then I would visit either the Wizard, Cleric, and Druid lists.
Entangle (1st level Druid spell) is a situational choice but, if it works, can be quite effective.

Items he's purchasing:
Darkwood Heavy Shield
Alchemical silver Dwarven maulaxe
Meditation tea
Sunrod
Acid
Alchemist's Fire

GM Roll4initiative |

@Brat, and everyone else, regarding the square with the red question mark:
If more than 50% of a square is showing, a medium humanoid can fit inside of that square. I learned this back in the day from the old D&D Sage Advice stuff in Dragon Magazine and go along with it. With small PCs, if 25% or more of the square is showing, then a small PC can also fit in that square.
Brat, I moved you back to your original starting square and made your icon a bit smaller to let me know you're playing a small sized PC.
I'm not sure what you're asking about the burning hands spell, so, I would suggest just using a spell template for the area of effect.

Thanks!

Archives of Nethys is a great source! However, there are a few restrictions that apply to potions:
A potion is a magic liquid that produces its effect when imbibed. Potions vary incredibly in appearance. Magic oils are similar to potions, except that oils are applied externally rather than imbibed. A potion or oil can be used only once. It can duplicate the effect of a spell of up to 3rd level that has a casting time of less than 1 minute and targets one or more creatures or objects. The price of a potion is equal to the level of the spell × the creator's caster level × 50 gp. If the potion has a material component cost, it is added to the base price and cost to create. Table: Potions gives sample prices for potions created at the lowest possible caster level for each spellcasting class. Note that some spells appear at different levels for different casters. The level of such spells depends on the caster brewing the potion.
Potions are like spells cast upon the imbiber. The character taking the potion doesn't get to make any decisions about the effect—the caster who brewed the potion has already done so. The drinker of a potion is both the effective target and the caster of the effect (though the potion indicates the caster level, the drinker still controls the effect).
The person applying an oil is the effective caster, but the object is the target. (Source)
The imbiber of the potion is both the caster and the target. Spells with a range of personal cannot be made into potions. (Source)
Also, the campaign rules for Pathfinder Society change things a little bit:
All potions, scrolls, wands, and other consumables are made by clerics, druids, or wizards in Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild play. The only exceptions to this are spells that are not on the cleric, druid, or sorcerer/wizard spell lists. For example, a scroll of lesser restoration must be purchased as a 2nd-level scroll created by a cleric and can’t be purchased as a 1st-level scroll created by a paladin. If a spell is not on the cleric, druid, or sorcerer/wizard spell list, move down the following hierarchy to determine which class creates the consumable. Use the spell’s text from the book in which it appears, instead of researching classes that might have gained that spell on their list in a later publication.
1) Bard
2) Paladin or Ranger
3) Psychic, Shaman, or Witch
4) Alchemist, Inquisitor, Magus, Mesmerist, Occultist, Spiritualist, or Summoner
5) Bloodrager or Medium
If there are still multiple options for the spell’s level, use the lowest level (for example, all scrolls of plane shift are 5th-level scrolls made by clerics rather than 7th-level scrolls made by wizards).
All potions, scrolls, and wands are available only at the minimum caster level unless found at a higher caster level on a Chronicle sheet. For the sake of simplicity, there is no difference between an arcane, divine, or psychic scroll or wand; thus, a bard and cleric can both use the same scroll of cure moderate wounds.
Scrolls of spells of 7th level or higher are not available for any characters below 12th level unless they appear on a Chronicle sheet that character has earned.

Finally got around to filling out RPGChronicles and realized that Moe was now 2nd-level. Also, I am using a replay.

And that roll was important! :-)
I think, even if we do not make the first DC, the meaning of the red runes is pretty straight forward: Blood from a warm-blooded creature.

![]() |

[dice=Heal]1d20-1 If Ekadan's roll can be treated as an Aid, we'd meet the DC.
@GM: Is it an Aid? If yes, we can read the spoiler before we try to deactivate the red runes...
Edit: Crossposting is fun!

By the way, regarding the missions in the current chapter...
For tracking spell durations, assume that each mission takes about 1 hour to complete and that it takes 10 minutes to travel between locations.
