"Ow! Ma'am, can you please stop hitting us?" Pip takes a broom to the face and shows her own holy symbol of Iomedae and a Diplomat's badge. "And I, as an ethical lawyer that does lots of Pro Bono work, follow Iomedae."
She widens her eyes, makes a Shameless Request, and looks earnestly at the shopkeeper. "Please, we're not cultists. I spent my last mission fighting them, and faced so many stupid locusts that I hope to never, ever see one again. We're Pathfinders, and we need it for a ritual to disrupt the cultists. Please, won't you help us?"

With all items collected, you return to the Grand Lodge and turn the items over to Zarta. She bids you keep the spacious pouch and the potions/vials inside.
"Well done, Pathfinders! Your next task is to bring back Hesla herself! Due to Shemis’s abilities, we were able to pinpoint some of Hesla’s movements, and know she has been staying at the home of Falwynd, leader of the Peacekeepers Alliance. If you are caught, it will not be easy for you to succeed but try your best, and return when you are done. If fortune sees it, you return with Riftcarver as well."

The homes within the Ascendant Court are far nicer than those in other parts of Absalom. Where most districts are full of alleys and built practically on top of each other, here the tree-lined cobblestone streets are easily wide enough for two carriages to pass, and the houses all boast immense yards. Falwynd’s home is no different, with her large, fenced in yard filled with towering citrus trees.
As you approach the unlocked gate of Falwynd’s home, she comes out. Immediately recognizing you as members of the Society, she rushes forward, begging you to turn around. Encountering Hesla here is not only a bad idea, but may even create another situation where the Pathfinders end up being judge and jury of the situation. As Falwynd continues to plead with you, an angered scream sounds from the front doors as they fly open and Hesla Embersplitter stalks onto the porch.
"You! How dare any of your Society come here, to where I have had to declare sanctuary due to you! My gods have not just turned their back on my cause, but actively against me in order to support such nothings as yourselves. I may not be able to protect Sarkoris from themselves, but I can protect them from your meddlesome interference! Riftcarver, let’s show them what real warriors can do!"
As soon as she finishes giving you a piece of her mind, she attacks.

Brix strikes as Hesla moves out of range but misses. He then yells at Riftcarver, trying to cow the spirit that drives the scythe. Hesla groans in dismay as Riftcarver goes dark and stops responding. Brix moves in to box her in, setting up for a flank with Salliss.
Salliss moves in, trying to stab Hesla in an unimportant area of her anatomy. His first strike misses but his second drives into her foot, temporarily pinning her to the ground. Hesla screams in pain, then laughs maniacally.

"You silly gree-hee-hee-hee-n haired gnome! I'll g-g-get you!" she says, chortling as she launches more locusts at Pip.
"Ow! Hey, Hesla! Do you know why locusts aren't usually packed as rations?" Pip looks at the laughing Hesla and does not let up, even as the bugs start eating the vines that grow out of her green hair. "Because they can't be served cold, they have to be swarmed up first!"

"So you'll g-g-get me? Riftcarver is down, and we outnumber you!" Pip starts singing and dancing to the song that Hesla reminded her of.

Pip does a song and dance and inspires the party. She crosses the rift, though runs through a particularly dense cloud of acid, burning her skin but causing the locusts to drop from her hair.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" Hesla laughs, "Was that a good treatment? You looked so funny as you ran smack into that cloud!"

Brix attempts to demoralize her. But again, Hesla laughs at him. "Your threats are hilarious! Your incompetence speaks volumes!"
Her levity is cut short when Brix connects with his next two strikes.
