Runa steps back and thick magical black that only Cayden can see slam down onto Cayden. I need a DC 15 Will save, (enchantment, compulsion mind-affecting) from Cayden
Lazar doesn't like having a gnome tickling his backside, but he also doesn't like the idea of the big people with big pointy sticks coming at him either, so he concentrates and attempts to cast a spell carefully
Concentration DC 19: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
A blast of red and yellow fire shoots from his hands at Bobbie.
Lazar Ranged touch attack vs Bobbie: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Fire Damage: 4d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 3) + 2 = 18
He gives a shout of triumph, but only Corba can hear it.
Runa is still on fire: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Damage: 1d20 ⇒ 12 Runa is still on fire.

Will, GM Star re-roll: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 + 5 = 24.
Cayden steps up, and attempts to slash Runa.
MW Cold Iron Bastard Sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23, for 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Slashing damage.

The last thing that goes through Bobbie's head before a wave of fire engulfs her is not again.
She thinks she can hear herself screaming before all goes black, but perhaps it was simply the roar of the flames.
Fortitude (to stop dying): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Well, she keeps on dying - but faster

GM Ultra Plus |

Between Cayden and Shannon, the Cheliaxian cleric collapses dead.
Its actually a Constitution Check, not a fortitude save, to stop dying. You're looking for a DC 10, and you take penalty to the check equal to how much below 0 you are.
Round 4
Shannon (-2)
Bobbie (-44, dying)
Corgrim (-17)
Cayden (-2, Will Save DC 15)
Corba (-5)
Lazar
Leon (-39, unconscious but stable)

"You will pay for burning Bobbie!"
Corba gets ready to strike Lazar as soon as a fellow pathfinder flanks with her.
Ready action: attack, condition: flanking with someone
Readied Longsword, flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Slashing: 1d6 ⇒ 1
That damage roll is a little underwhelming...
@Corgrim: Sneak attack (including flanking) is on! Go get him!

Sneak attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
dmg, SA: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (3) + 1 = 10
Sneak attack Crit?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Corgrim moves with grim resolution and religious fervor, flanking Lazar and burying his blade into his loins
Feel the pain of Calistria's sting, to avenge Bobbie.

Leon dreams of puppies and happy fields of flowers.
Or…
Watching his foes’ faces turn purple as he chokes the last breath of life out of them.
You decide.

GM Ultra Plus |

Lazar throws his hands up into the air, "Okay, I'm probably not getting paid the second half of what Hjort is paying me, and I don't want to end up dead, so... Truce?" Unfortunately, most of the Pathfinders can't the evoker. "Runa's got a healing potion on her, if you want to save your friend,"
Round 4
Shannon (-2)
Bobbie (-44, dying)
Corgrim (-17)
Cayden (-2)
Corba (-5)
Lazar
Leon (-39, unconscious but stable)
keeping us into initiative until Bobbie is stable.

Channel Positive Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Shannon tells others to disarm the downed enemies, or re-down those who refuse to surrender, while she channel to stablize all.

GM Ultra Plus |

None of the opposing team, save Lazar, are moving after the channel. They are deceased.

"Can we move away from the silence?" Lazar says, keeping his hands up. "Yeah, cool? Its cold out here."
"Okay, listen, I'm a wizard for hire, Hjort, Runa, they had something complicated going on. I think they were together, but, uh, well, Runa was also running a con on him, I think. So, Hjort had a mad-on for the Pathfinder Society, right? And according to Hjort, Runa's a betrayed Pathfinder who's gone renegade. Except, one night, we stayed up drinking, and Hjort was out recruiting, and I think its more, she's a renegade Pathfinder who betrayed the Society. Something about a... shadow lodge? I don't know, I'm not a Pathfinder."
"You wanna know something messed up? I'm pretty sure Runa was part of the Pathfinder team that raided Hjort's village."
"She was working for a guy named... Caggrigar, I think she said? Never met him, don't know what he looks like. Anyways, after we got that Skagni guy, she sent Skagni with a fellow on the way to Irrisen. Vermund, that was the guy who was heading to Irrisen."

Know Local: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Corgrim tries to "find a guy who nows a guy", looking for a bookseller, but without result, he changes tactics
At least I know a bard, and sometimes that's better!
My dear Corba may I require your assistance? I need to find someone, a bookseller, about a book to sell of course, but I can't find him. I know your social skills are way better than mine, so can I count on you?

![]() |

"Of course I'll help a fellow Pathfinder! Should be easy enough to find that bookseller."
Corba grabs her trusty bullhorn and starts asking around for the location of the bookseller.

Bobbie wakes up as if from a dream: extra cranky, aching all over, and hating her life.
"Heiress," she takes a ragged breath. "That one hit hard."
She is not one to want to sit down - even severely burned and about to go on another trip to a different country. But at least she can be distracted long enough to be subtly moved to a place where Lazar isn't, just in case she'd find punching him in the teeth soothing.

GM Ultra Plus |

Bobbie wakes up, apparently finding none of the pathfinders staying around to heal help her. No, I get it, its the end of the scenario, y'all get healed to full before the next one, but still...
The Pathfinders find a itinerant pop-up bookstore, called the Linnorm's Spine. The bookseller's pride and joy, the cornerstone of their connection, is a chronicle of the Linnorm King Ulvass.
"I'm not merely going to part with this to some upjumped 'society' of graverobbers."

![]() |

I thought Shannon had channeled some energy haha
Bobbie's had more than enough of the locals' hospitality. "You believe we're robbers? How about you rephrase that, then?"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
She is obviously pissed and out of patience.

Corba is not Dark Archive, but maybe she's allowed to help?
Corba tries to change the bookseller's opinion...
"You know, that's a really interesting book you have here. And by interesting, I mean, the Pathfinder Society finds it interesting. How would you like it if your name was added to our chronicles? You'll go down in history as the person who did recover a very rare copy of Discovering Arcadia: the Glory of the Linnorm King Ulvass... in nearly perfect condition."
Perform: Oratory, skill focus, MW tool, Fashionable trait (for Diplomacy): 1d20 + 11 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 18 LOL.

The party is able to find a caravan of merchants and diplomats, headed to Whitethrone, the capital of Irrisen. The caravan is led by Zoou, an one-armed gnome.
"Listen, from what I've heard, the city o' Whitethrone innt thrilled with the lot of you at the moment, Trailblazers and such; they're convinced that your Society is cutting a trail through the Linnorm Kingdoms and will raze through Irrisen next," Zoou says one night in the campfire, close to the Irriseni border. "You're not going be able to waltz in. I figger that you pose as members of our crew, and we get you in." Zoou has an affection for you Trailblazers; as it turnt out, a party of Pathfinders saved her while she was attending a wedding in Katheer a few years ago, so she's more than willing to help out the Society now.
But disaster strikes only a day and a half out of Whitethrone, a large band of ice trolls descend on the caravan. Fighting alongside the trolls are a few Irriseni soldiers. Someone didn't want those diplomats reaching Whitethrone. The Pathfinders make it out; the caravan doesn't.
Somewhat oddly, the scenario has this ice troll fight happen entirely off-screen, in between the scenarios.
Now the Pathfinders brave the biting winds and snow as the white walls of Irrisen's capital and home of Baba Yaga's daughters rises before you. Somewhere within is the Shadow Lodge headquarters where poor Rognvald Skagni is being held. Reaching this city had a death count, but the challenge of getting inside the city still stands.
I assume Leon's still carrying our chest. Everyone still wearing their cold weather gear?

![]() |

Shannon will put her newly acquired wand of Endure Element to use.
Well, there are only so many CORE spells, and this happens to also be on Paladin's list...

![]() |

Leon is indeed still acting as pack mule. While they walk he asks Corba, ”Ya gots us a plan ta get intada citeh, righ?”

![]() |

Bobbie has completely recovered from her wounds, and moves with the cold determination of someone approaching a mortal enemy. After everything the Pathfinders endured, she isn't going to back away even if Baba Yaga's very own daughters greet them at the city gate. "We look too much like foreigners," she says, tightening the scarf around her neck. "We better come up with a good excuse. How about saying we're mercenaries for hire?"
Definitely still wearing the cold weather outfit!
