That sounds good. Many Minds is one that was interesting to me, but I could do it with either character.

Sounds good, Thom. I'm having fun and, in this case, will be happy to go whichever route the group decides.

Wayfinders

All the plans sound good to me. I'm game!

Happy New Year! I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday period with friends and loved ones.

Wayfinders

The same back to you and the whole crew!! Here's to a great 2026!!

And ready to roll, only a day late. I hope you all had great holidays!

First post of the new game is up.

How are you guys feeling about your tech skills?

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Janosian, Live Exploration Extreme Gameplay. can be found here.

There are still two open slots if anyone is interested in an SFS official game.

What level are we? Still planning level 5 with matching equipment loadout?

We're back!

Looking upthread I see we have potentially three or four missions for the proteges. Should be go straight to 5th level like previously suggested or go to 4th first? Or is this a mission for the main cast?

Mercy is not all that good at tech, but Harlan certainly is.

Hey Thom. Great to be back!

Neither Reynar or Locket have any tech skills, so I'll be relying on the abilities of my companions on that front.

They can, at least, be sneaky and hopefully help in that way. Reynar can also be useful with any situations that call for persuasion or misdirection.

Data Breach is a Protogee's game. We've added it and Many Minds of Historia into the pure arc games because of Historia teasers that were in the Scoured Stars scenario.

1-33 Data Breach (3-6)
1-38 The Many Minds of Historia (5-8)

1-29 Honorbound Emissaries (7-10)
1-31 Treading History's Folly (3-6)
1-34 Heart of the Foe (3-6)
1-39 The Herald's War (7-10)
2-00 Special 2. Fate of the Scoured God (1-12)

On the Protogee track, by adding this in I think we should step back and run this at fourth level. History's Folly at 5th, and Heart of the Foe at sixth.

The A team plays Many MInds at 8; Honorbound at 9 : and Herald's War at 10.

Then we play the special, and done.

SOund good?

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I know the A-Team would be fine on tech skills, but am still less familiar with the protogees. The scenario states that this one is tech heavy, and suggests some adjustments that might be made. Hence the tech skill question.

Sounds good, Thom.

Level 4 it is (although, level 5 was looking really good there for a moment! Soon, young padawan...)

Following the wealth per level? ie, 6000 cr for 4th or were we awarded a set amount for the last mission?

Female Ifrit Solarian 4 | SP 28/28 HP 32/32 RP 4/4 | EAC 17 KAC 19 | Resist Fire 5 | F +4 R +2 W +3 | Init +1 | Perc +7 | Status: --

That sounds good to me Thom.

Mercy definitely has no tech skills, nor are any of them class skills for her, such that I could pick one up on this level up and at least be OK-ish at it. As a result I'd be relying on others to look at tech. Sounds like Reynar at least is in a similar position.

In normal SFS, I vaguely recall being able to "borrow" an NPC that could do a specific skill for you if your group or character had a blind spot. I think it cost AcP or fame or something along those lines. Anyone remember that? Or am I thinking of PF2e?

You're right, Cellion. In SFS you could purchase hireling boons that covered particular skill sets.

8-10-U8 "Attenuate" | Sentient Robotic Organism (SRO) | SP 24 / HP 26 | EAC 17/ KAC 17 | Fort +4 / Reflex +3 / Will +3 Biohacker Level 4

In addition to being a skilled healer, Attenuate is a decent scientist/engineer/computer scientist (+12 to +15 in those skills). He also has an integrated data jack, and as an SRO he should be able to store quite a bit of data/information from the computer systems in his internal memory.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I was thinking 5th level before I saw how Data Breach fit in the mix.

JUst use 4th level wealth. The scenarios assume you're going to play a few before you level up so rewards from a single game will leave you behind the curve.

Fourth level, skills at 12-15 sounds pretty solid to me. I'll do a scan of skill difficulties to make sure. If you want to hire a servitor as it were, that works for me too. If this were a Society game, you'd have some ACP to spend at this point. I've never looked at Society ACP Rewards rules. Does someone mind checking it out? Do you get 1 or 2 ACP per scenario? What's the hireling cost and what are the exact benefits?

Thanks, Thom.

I haven't made any SFS purchases since it went to ACP so that was interesting to see the difference.

Here's what I found in the purchases available for one of my PCs:

I had to look up my old records from back when I was playing more SFS - looks like it was 4 ACP per completed scenario, which means we would be able to pick up a basic hireling comfortably after clearing the first adventure.

Sounds like Attenuate will probably be able to tackle many skills we'll need in this next adventure, but if you're willing GM, I think we'd be well served with a Tech Support hireling to back him up.

I'll be leveling Mercy up to 4th shortly and should be ready to dive in tomorrow.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Life is getting in the way. Probably can't post til Monday.

All good, Thom. Life has a way of doing that. :)

Wayfinders

I'll spin Kyzin up to level 4 and get to posting!

I'm prepping for a regional convention this weekend -- my second time running PFS2 games, but I'm getting the hang of it.

I've been out of fantasy RPGs for a long time. PFS2 feels strange and familiar all at once, which is kinda freaky. :)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Excellent Janosian. You may post without leveling in this encounter with Lanzio. It shouldn't include more than minor conflict.

We'll need you leveled by the time we get to Verces.

That sounds great, Janosian! Have a great time at the convention :)

Wayfinders

Yeah, about that... I canceled. :(

The convention is in Louisville, which is slated to get 12-15" of snow between Friday and Monday, plus the possibility of 1/4" of ice.

So I'm staying home and "mowing" my driveway (snowblowing), which is supposed to get 10" of snow over the weekend.

OMG -- did you add Major Matt Mason on your own or was it written into the module???

Forgive me while I show my age here.

Major Matt Mason was a Mattel action figure line of astronauts from the late 1960s *cough* when I was 8 years old *cough*. My parents bought me SO MUCH of that stuff... several action figures, the moon base, a rover, flight sled, exploration suit, and the massive laser cannon.

For a deep dive, check out this YouTube video.

It totally makes my night!!

References galore! Also throw in the mind oozes and Slurm!

I'm unfamiliar with Major Matt Mason (almost wrote Matt Murdock! ><), but whether that is due to time difference or geographical difference, I'm not sure. For context, my first action figures were He-man and Dukes of Hazzard.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Major Matt was my idea. Mattel was cashing in on enthusiasm surrounding the US space program in the 60s and 70s. I loved that stuff.

On the weather front, they're predicting 18" +/- for us. I am stoked. I should be able to get some good cross country skiing out of this.

Wayfinders

Kyzin leveled up with some new armor and a new evolutionist ability (resistant form -- spend 1 MP to gain resist 3 for electricity, fire, or sonic). He still sucks at all things technical, but he'll happy beat things into submission.

Sorry for the hold up, everyone. Ixd hoped to post today but it's getting really late. Will post in the morning.

RL is currently flat chat. I'll try to get a post in soon.

Wayfinders

"What a jerk your GM is. If you want Lanzio along, you'll have to work for it."

ROFL!!!!

Ha! It gave me a laugh, too. :D

Although, my stomach dropped soon after when I realised there was more negotiating to follow!

It's not a usual role for me to play and I'm finding it challenging - very enjoyable but a challenge nonetheless

I really loved everyone's contributions to the interrogation scene, too!

I won't deny I went "Oh come on". Convince us to pick him up with OOC, then hit us with complications IC when we go along with you. Gremlin energy. :)

No problem, Thom.

I've been hard-pressed to post this week. RL has thrown a grenade.

And a crazy few days for me too. Catching up now...

Apologies -- I was on the road last week with questionable online access.

Welcome back!

I'm confused about where we're up to... did I miss Reynar's turn somewhere? I have him at 2 Photon attunement points, so he should be getting ready for his third turn (and zenith revelation)? Or are you waiting on his turn now and that's the delay?

According to the initiative tracker, the Pink Bot is up next.

Thanks, BG! Appreciate the reply.

That's what I'd thought, too. But was starting to think I must have missed something.

Oh, you're right. Somehow I thought Mercy was also up.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Sorry, all, my week was completely upended by jury duty, and trying to still get some work stuff done. I'm back to it.

No problemo, Thom. I hope that things are settling for you again.
