The team notices that something looks a little off in the area right under the letter 'I' on the statue's foot that the team discovered before.

Because it's been several months, I want to remind the team of this post.

You may try the two knowledge religion checks again, or use diplomacy to try to get someone around you to help you out.

Thank you for the reminder.

Diplomacy, a dwarf begging for help: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

Bagurm looks around for someone who is versed on the meaning of what they found out. Certainly, somebody should pay attention to a fierce dwarf with a waraxe asking so nicely.

Dass tries to talk to someone looks knowledgable to help.

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)

The team convinces some passersby to help them. They point out that the figure who fails to help is Aroden, and that the moon images must be referring to Groetus.

The painting shows the once-beautiful statue stares back transformed, her visage twisted into a demonic snarl. Derros torment cowering prisoners in the painting’s background. Brandishing a radiant holy symbol, Aroden fails to fight them off.

Liberty's Edge

Male dwarf Barbarian 3 | HP: 38/38 | AC: 21 (12 Tch, 19 Fl) | CMB: +6, CMD: 18 | F: +6, R: +4, W: +3 | Init: +2 | Perc: +7 | Raging (3/11 used): | HP: 44/44 | AC: 19 (10 Tch, 17 Fl) | CMB: +8, CMD: 15 | F: +8, W: +5

Give me a few derros and I know what to do with my axe. Otherwise...

Bagurm scratches his beard, unsure of what to do with this information.

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online)

Bagurm thinks that the fact Aroden is using divine power may be important here.

Here again I'm not sure how the party is supposed to figure this out... I've given you a push in the right direction so that you can maybe figure it out by trying stuff. If the first few things you try don't work, I'll either give more hints or come up with a check for your characters to know what to do.

The Exchange

female elf spellslinger 4 | ♥️18 | ⛨15 T 14 FF 11 | CMB+0 CMD 14 | F+1 R+6 W+5; +2 vs enchantments; immune sleep | Init+6 | Low-light Vision; Perc+6 SM+3 | Speed 30ft | Spells: 2nd ☐invisibility ☑☐scorching ray; 1st ☐burning hands, ☑ear-piercing scream, ☐shield, ☑☑snowball | ⚕none

Absolutely shooting in the dark here, at a loss otherwise. Please don't laugh :sweats:

It seems like the painting is telling us that the statue isn't entirely intact in a spiritual sense, or maybe even defiled. Perhaps somebody can try some divine energy on it, or perhaps a holy symbol of Aroden?

Ela looks again at the statue to assess it for defiling effects.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 (+2 more to identify magic item properties)
