The cultist keep advancing, with the frontmost two firing their machine guns, while the cultist leader keeps harassing Iseph.

Isephs hits the flying cult leader, but it's the fanatic on the ground that groans really loudly, almost falling to his knees. The doc misses, but Gil-Oloth manages to hits, and with a pained scream the cultist on the ground collapses, despite not being the target. Unprotected and exposed, the cultist then gets shot by Cavaler, which is enough for the plant-like flying creature to plummet to the ground.

Gil-Oloth and Patrick identify the cultists as human, bipedal creatures that have evolved from simians.

Yarameh retargets to the nearest cultist, and this one looks to be quite hurt as well now.

Another cultist falls under the concentrated fire of Gil-Oloth and Cavaler, causing the rest of the group to retarget at the last cultist. Iseph barely misses, but the Doc and Yarameh severly injure the last cultist, who just off a cliff in self-sacrifice.

Combat over!

With his dying words, the cultist leader sputters through gurglings of blood “You’re too late. We did not cause the contractions. The Newborn quickens still. You cannot stop it. Rejoice, for its birth will be the last thing you
see as you die.”

Those ar ehis dying words, but after that, a woman slumped over the mi-go’s
sacrificial altar lets out a desperate cry for help.

She looks around, making sure that liberating the woman will not provoke something worse as she looks into the future. Use Flash of Prescience: is liberating the woman dangerous.

Gil-Oloth quickly concludes that in this timeline, helping the woman is beneficial. When the group then comes in to render aid, she says My name is Caulthwan. You were wise to disrupt the ritual, the cultist were trying to make the Newborn a vessel for Nyarlathotep’s return to reality.

The people Yggodwyv victimized were disciples of the 13 Midwives, dedicated to quickening the godling’s birth and soothing its pain and confusion. The Midwives themselves vanished in a flash following an immense display of lights on the horizon

She continues to explain I believe they were rewarded for their service, ascended to cosmic vassals of the Newborn.

There is nothing you can do to stop the Newborn’s birth... there will not even be time to evacuate Aucturn - the people of Amniek have embraced their fate and the cultists within the Citadel of the Black have likely fled already.

It may still be possible to rescue some people from Grindhold, but you must hurry. I must stay here, and complete my vigil with the birth of a new god

Checks: At least one PC must attempt a Computers check to troubleshoot the ship’s scanners, while the others each must attempt a Engineering check to manually support the scanner functions, a Piloting check to keep the ship safe from orbiting detritus, or a Survival check to use celestial landmarks as touchstones.
