Cavaler does his best to assist the rest of team even though his computer skills are limited.

Patrick slaves away at the astrogation station, while Gil-Oloth and Iseph work on getting the ship through this. There's a faint smell of smoke - which may just be Yarameh's cigarette - followed by a loud bang as the drift engine violently malfunctions.
Apparently, the engine is pulling in planar matter from outer planes of madness as it charges, and mental horrors are closing in on the ship.
At least one PC must attempt a Engineering check to get the Drift engine back under control, while the other PCs each must attempt a Acrobatics check to manually reach the faulty mechanisms, a Mysticism check to keep the horrors at bay, or a Physical Science check to offer alternative lines of code to troubleshoot the problem

Patrick starts recoding the computer.
physical science: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (20) + 22 = 42
Not today Nyarlathotep he mutters to himself as he works He also hopes that the deep space telescopes are getting all of this. It's not everyday that a planet hatches. He also knows that he owes his research assistant an apology.

Mysticism: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Yarameh tries to remember all the protective prayers she knows, but there are not so many such prayers in the religions of those who worship the Abyss...

"No smoking on the bridge, Yarameh."

That? Oh. It's an ethereal tardigrade. They're harmless - mostly. They snack on free floating magical particles. Now that other thing that keeps changing shape, that's a bit more of a worry.

Iseph fails to get the drift engine under control, but Gil-Oloth comes to the rescue. Doc manages to identify the most dangerous creatures, and keeps them at bay with a nauseating pulsing of the shields, while Patrick frantically tries to recode the initializaiton algorithm.
The drift engine whirrs back to life, and is ready to engage. The group feels an overwhelming compulsion to make one last scan of Aucturn, and snap a picture of the psychic mad monstrosity emerging from the planet's core.
At least one PC must attempt a Mysticism check to warn the crew not to look upon madness, while the other PCs each must attempt a Bluff check to distract everyone, a Life Science check to rationally imagine what lurks behind the ship, or a Will save to shut down their intrusive thoughts.

Mysticism: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Yarameh is not very confident in coping with the task of distracting the others, because she herself insanely wants to examine everything in detail. What an inspiration this could give for future songs! Just think about it...

The Doc convinces the group to pay attention to the latest Zo! special, which seems to be some kind of auditioning show for legal representation There's a trailer that shows Shari Misraria putting her hand into a black box, and pulling out a miniature khefak. Looks quite interesting.
Patrick makes good scientific arguments while Cavaler just straight out lies. A lie for goodwill, because looking back upon the haunting visage of a newborn god would have been... unpredictable.
The engines engage before the howling space madness can consume the Starfinder vessel, and the group is the first to bring the news of Aucturn’s destruction to the Lorespire comples.
The Grindhold citizens they evacuated depart wordlessly onto Absalom Station in obvious shock.
The normally stoic Ixthia is visibly rattled by the tale. I'll have to ask you to await a formal statement before you share your experience with others. I also want you to know that we have mental health services readily available, should you need it.
During the debriefing, Whisperer of Souls stays close to the group, seeking to remain in the vicinity of those it sees as omens from its divine friend. Ixthia is awestruck by the legendary artifact’s appearance, respectfully taking the weapon for cataloging and assignment.
Mission complete! Please roll day jobs while I prepare for reporting!

May be she needs a counsellor, but who knows with her...
After finishing her Qabarat University courses, Gil-Oloth shares her recipes with the students.
