An Enkindled Carnival

From the end of that first combat it’s been about 20 minutes

George 09-23 and Ombonth check the perimeter carefully before going inside. The area around the building seems abandoned at the moment, and neither of you hear talking or chatter spilling out from the boarded up windows. There is a faint thrum of machinery coming from inside.

Going through the entrance you all enter the building’s lobby. It is mostly complete, with a tiled floor, functioning doors, and a sleek built-in wooden desk at the reception area. The floor is still clearly under construction however. Plywood has been laid on the ground to form paths above the tiles to doors on either side of the room. Directly ahead of you on either side of the desk plastic sheeting hangs down lightly blocking off other more incomplete areas.

On the reception desk a water bottle rests next to several stray food wrappers. A pair of dirty work boots sit on the plywood to your right.

Dim light here. Ceilings are 20 feet high on this floor.
The light gray curtainy bits directly across from you right now is plastic sheeting hung up. You can see through it but it’s a bit opaque - providing concealment for things on the other side, and moving through its square is difficult terrain as you cross it.

5am lets others search the perimeter, standing mostly idle but with her ears occasionally twitching as she intuits nearby timelines.

After a few moments, she deftly vaults over the desk and tugs at the air towards the northern plastic sheeting, lifting it up with minor telekinesis.

Psychokinetic Hand to lift the northern curtain first, and if there's nothing behind, then lift the southern one next.

An Enkindled Carnival

Ombonth approaches to try and gaze through the curtain while George 09-23 scans around. The entry lobby is untrapped, though the android does notice the work boots seem quite technologically advanced, and that there's a fancy cloak left hanging off of the back of one of the receptionist's chairs. a pair of boost boots and a displacer cloak Peering through the curtain the dragonkin spies what looks like a large and - for now - mostly open space. It seems much less finished than the lobby: there's more draped sheeting around and several of the walls are incomplete and still only metal framing Moving through those metal framing squares is likewise difficult terrain.

5am rips off the sheetings to give you all a better look at the room beyond. the exposed area is filled with various tools and material. Two fire extinguishers are mounted on the completed portion of the walls while two safety signs sit in front of a mound of debris in one corner. Some few rubber anti-fatigue mats are stacked along the wall framing closest to Ombonth. A worktable around the corner is piled with a variety of tools and work gloves. There are two elevators ahead of you though a 3-foot-tall pile of lumber partially blocks access to one of them.

As the sheeting flutters down the thrum of generators grows louder, and you can make out through the frames and sheeting lights set up in the distance. Another sound also starts to reach your ears though: what sounds like machines powering up and the clanking of metal against the wood...

George 09-23 again cloaks himself and approahces with complete caution. Ombonth again takes a different tack.

As the dragonkin continues into the room, he spys movement to his right. In the far corner of the floor - partially covered by building material and the framing columns, a squat tripedal mechanical thing made of purple and gold-plated metals is scurrying about.

Ombonth then notices another one moving to his left. As it skitters along the floor it fires a freezing beam at the vanguard (though it harmlessly connects with a bt of metal between you two).

5am's shot misfires lot of nat 1 attacks so far all around but Ombonth slams hard into the nearest robot. It slams back at his with its own metal claw. The blow bounces off of Ombonth's scales and armor.

Celly hugs the reception desk and lands a perfect shot on the nearing bot. The Shot seems even more effective than expected - its fritzing out badly from the hit.

As Speaker moves into better position again, Ombonth gets shot at again as the droid away from him then repositions.

Emerging from nowhere a protean suddenly emerges. In its chaoctic thrashing its two bites dig into the robot before it and its second snap latches onto the metal creature.

The grabbed robot thrashes back against the protean, attmepting to slam it against the metal poles about. But the twisty planar seprent avoids the blows.

Speaker's toss misses once again, but Celly makes up for it with another impeccably-placed shot. The robot above 5am is sparking badly, but still standing.

The red constrcut keeps a wide berth as it cricles about Ombonth and fires at the dragonkin again.

An Enkindled Carnival

A newly-summoned protean emerges to snap and tear at the damaged construct menacing 5am. the assault finally cracks its casing and the bot crumbles destroyed to the floor. This gives the elf a chance to move without fear of reprisal - though her own shot goes wide.

The other grabbed and harmed bot squirms to try and dodge the attacks against it. But the combined strikes of the scaled duo cause it to finally 'die' as well.

No worries - you are no longer sickened. The time out of the smoke and the walk from your landing point to hear cleared your lungs nice and good!

Celly and Speaker focus their fire on the closer robot. Speaker for the Dead's strike finally connects and sends sparks flying. Cely's own gun basically shoots sparks, but they seem especially effective against the construct.

That same robot shoots back at Spekaer for the Dead before scurrying up close to him and Celly. moving in enough of an arc to not provokie by going directly past Speaker

She makes token effort to avoid strikes from both of the robots: the one she starts next to and the one she barely reaches past. However, she is going too fast and leaves herself open for the robot's attacks.

An Enkindled Carnival

5am kips rolls, weaves, and tumbles around the floor to try and draw attention as they move to aid Ombonth. Unfortunately all the construciton material strewn about seems to be tripping her up, and both constructs take big swings at her as they go.

Speaker skitters quickly backwards and again activates the rare, witchwyrd-designed tetrad rings on his claws. The resulting bolt of force streaks out towards the robot threatening him!
