John wears a barbed vest and I am so amped that someone finally grappled him! The enemy has a DC 15 Reflex save or it will take one point of damage. Muahahahahahaaaa!!! John will wait a moment to see if his allies finish the critter off quickly.

"I know Chalfon Dalsine quite well, though I knew nothing of the attack, and I worked as a chambermaid for a woman who was having an affair with Chalfon last year." She says and proceeds to give you information about Chalfon being the black sheep in the family, and that he only returned to Taldor a few years ago. More importantly, she knows where his manor home is located in Senate’s Hill, and can give you detailed directions to the manor.

Birseko is blithely oblivious to much of what is going on but he does take the time to examine the manuscript carefully, quite curious about whatever secrets it might hold.

Charito doesn't know the indoors of the mansion, only the location and that there are guards at the gate.

When you are ready to proceed, story continues at the manor.

Dalsine Manor is a modern, two-story structure set back from the main road and surrounded by a twelve-foot brick wall. Its main gate is shut and guarded, but through it can be seen a well-kept garden surrounding the house. A carriage covered in gold filigree and inset with gems stands parked inside the gate, while another, constructed of modest wood with drawn shades, waits just outside the gate.

Take 10 on Perception for a 22 to see if he can see or hear the guards Charito mentioned.

We can deal with the idiocy of our Venture Captain later at debrief, but for now we have one more thing to accomplish. And that is recovering the society's property. I figure we have two ways in, talking our way through the front or sneaking in the back. Any other options?"

"I think those are the best options. I don't think starting a fight on the streets of the capital, particularly involving fiery evocation explosions, would attract too much interest and damage too much property to be overlooked. Black sheep of the family or not."
