Here we go.
FWOOM... CRUNCH! Gronilda's strike pulverizes the elemental into a heap of stone and dust!
The once-frightened hunters emerge from up above, a male and female half-elf whose resemblance to one another is unmistakable. They retrieve their bows out from under what remains of the Rock Man. "Oh. Uhm, these bows."
"Thanks for your help with that thing, and putting out the fire. Hobs, we can deal with. Rock people... Never seen anything like that. Spooky. Anyway, could you help take care of the townsfolk here?" The hunter points towards to the open window.
"Give me a hand here!" Kinning calls through the mostly destroyed door, one broken hinge still preventing it from opening fully.
"As for us, we've got hobgoblins to hunt. Damn them all. Come on, Lirosa." Bows in hand, the pair eagerly move past the smithy and towards the exit.
You have the option to try and stop them and get them to join your group of refugees
Taking a quick look around the room: Hanging from a nail above a workbench is a keychain that contains two keys. Several notes regarding Phaendar's bridge are scribbled in chalk on a large piece of slate leaning against the wall.
The chalkboard can be studied for 1 minute to gain a +2 bonus to any Craft (alchemy), Disable Device, or Knowledge (engineering) check to destroy the bridge later.
| Saélihn |
"Wait! You won't be able to handle all of them. There's an army of them over-running the town. We have to get as many people out of town as possible!" Saélihn says to the pair about to exit.
"Do what you can, and try to get to the bridge, we have people gathering there to escape."
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Skalla moves to help Kinning with the door, but turns around as she sees the pair of half-elves about to leave.
"You can do a lot more good helping us protect the townsfolk! We are getting organized, gathering provisions. On your own your chances are poor at best, don't throw your lives away like this!"

Teidel, the male hunter, turns to Saélihn. "An army of them, huh? Well, I can handle them all! And they deserve every arrow I will hand deliver to their hearts!"
Now the hunters peek into the streets, looking out at smoke rising from buildings and hearing the cacophony of chaotic sounds filling the air: metal clashes against metal, the constant desperate cries of villagers, panicked whinnies of frightened horses, and the warcries of what seems like a thousand hobgoblins.
At the doors, Lirosa, the female hunter grabs her brother's arm, hearing Skalla's plead. She hesitates. "She.. She's right. We'll be overrun easily by that many hobgoblins. At least if we go with them, we'll be safe for longer."
Teidel sighs luxuriously, nearly dropping his bow again. "Fine! Have it your way."
The hunters will join the group as two additional 1st-level warriors

With a blow from Skalla, the door to the shop falls off its last hinge. Skalla finds herself face to face with Kining, a dwarven woman with countless burn scars and iron-gray hair. "My shop.. It's !@#$* ruined! It's all gone!" The dwarf curses as she runs between the smithy, shop and backroom, surveying the damage. She stops, raises a fist, and throws a punch through a smoke-damaged wall. "Gods damn it. Of all places, they invade Phaendar! !@#&*"
Also inside the shop are three other frightened townsfolk huddled together.

"Kining!" Skalla shouts after the blacksmith. "You're angry, and I am too, but shops can be rebuilt and lives cannot. We are alive, for now, so let us focus on staying that way. Help us gather what is useful, and help these folks make their way to the bridge. There are others that escaped this massacre, and we mean to hide in the forest."
This was the adult version of the speech that Skalla often had to give to the younger kids, which was usually along the lines of "Use your words, Brienna, not your fists."

Grym has worked with the foul-tempered dwarf over the years and knows it takes her awhile before she simmers down, but we don't have time for that

Kining looks over, fire still in her eyes, as she hears Grymwold's familiar voice. "Hmph. I don't need anything but my blade and the ferocity I'll show these hobgoblins." She stomps her way back towards the front doors. "Don't be looting as bad as the hobs, but my stores are in there, if you find anything useful."
Looking through Kining's wares, you find a longsword, two battleaxes, an alchemical silver rapier, a masterwork light steel shield, a masterwork backpack, a climber’s kit, and eight waterskins
Decide what you're taking, if anything, and claim it on the sheet
Hearing Skalla's words, the three frightened villagers get up and rush their way past the shop shelves to exit. Two of the three, a young girl with wavy auburn hair, and an older woman with braided blonde hair, stop immediately upon noticing Lizzie.
"Beads! You're here!" They practically jump onto the halfling with a hug. Lizzie recognizes her cousin Hilary and aunt Emily.
"Of course you are," Hilary smiles, specks of ash clinging to her face. "Bet you sneaked right past a hundred of those things without them noticing. Hey, Dad is at the Riverwood Shrine. He rushed over with your ma and pa when ... this all started."
For this location, you'll get 12 Provision Points from the sacks of seed, bolts of cloth, barrels of nails, and flour and salt. "Bet you sneaked right past a hundred of those things without them noticing. Hey, Dad is at the Riverwood Shrine. He rushed over with your ma and pa when ... this all started."
"I'd like to say so, but not this time. I was with these folk at the tavern when a couple of hobgobs broke in. They're capable people, so we've taken care of the stragglers we've encountered thus far."
She slightly smirks at hearing about her parents and uncle.

Skalla takes all the weapons; there was no sense in leaving them behind to be looted by hobgoblins and then used against more innocent people. Those that don't have sheaths she quickly wraps in rags and straw, Distributing them amongst the others to carry. The waterskins are filled from the pump and likewise distributed.
She smiles as Lizzie is reunited with part of her family, going over to ask them. "What of the kids? Have you seen anyone? Are they at the shrine as well?"

Gronilda's attention is fully taken by the notes regarding Phaendar's bridge. She ignores most of what is going on while studying in them "Look, it seems the bridge is supported in here and here. If I have seen any dwarf busting tunnels back at Kraggodan, I have to say those are the points we have to burst to collapse the bridge."
She picks up the two keys from the workbench, and smiles happily as Lizzie reunites with her family "She was asking all about you this time. We are were worried."
Then, picking up the masterwork light shield, she straps it into her arm "It seems we will need all the protection we can handle. This starts like the Goblinblood Wars..."
Turning to the group as she listens the others discuss the next move, she adds "The Riverwood Shrine? I left back there Noelan and Rhyna, preaching to the new visits to town. They might be at trouble right now. Let's go!"

"Uh huh. And I'm gonna kick some shins!" Cousin Hilary grins wickedly.
"What of the kids? Have you seen anyone? Are they at the shrine as well?"
On your way out, Aunt Emily replies. "When the hobs showed up, most of our family rushed to the shrine, hoping to find others there. Safety in numbers and all that. There were others there already, including children. I took Hilary here to get Kining. Figured she'd know what to do about the bridge."
You're back outside the shop. The invasion has progressed, with even more bodies in the streets, and hobgoblins running between buildings, looting the place. The sky is illuminated by the smoldering embers of burning buildings.
Your refugees continue to skulk behind you, keeping to the shadows with your provisions in tow.
Sounds like you're making way for the shrine, let me know how'd you like to get there now that you're back outside, i.e. whether that's a stealthy approach, or if you'd rather get the hobs attention for any reason.

Though some of you find it much easier to be stealthy than others, the hobgoblins are too busy looting buildings, carrying off prisoners, or chasing down stragglers. They're even oblivious to Grymwold's jingling chainmail. Guided by Lizzie and Saélihn, the party sticks to the shadows and sidestreets.
Only a few minutes pass as Gronilda's directions lead you to the Riverwood Shrine. A wooden deck surrounds the front of an octagonal structure with broad archways leading into a place of worship. To its left stands a moss-encrusted stone monument. Carved birds, branches, and fruits decorate the wooden supports of the temple’s entryway.
A dead villager is curled up on the wooden deck before the temple.
Gronilda recognizes the dead villager as her dear friend Noelan, an elderly man who served as the shrine's caretaker.
