Content that the outcome was the best possible one given difficult circumstances, and somewhat relieved that the lingering threat of betrayal was over, Saélihn seeks out her mother, looking to her wisdom and strong ties to the community to get a better feel for how what just played out might have impacted the less vocal of the villagers.

Like Zarena, Lizzie feels she needs a moment to collect her thoughts.
Probably keeping Zarena quiet company.
Killing a hobgoblin was different, from killing a defenseless unarmed man. A spy though he may have been, this kind of a situation was difficult to easily process, for the first time. She hoped they wouldn't have to see it again.

Gronilda steps out into the clearing where the others have gathered, her boots sinking into the damp ground from the passing storm. She glances at Lizzie and Zarena, noticing their quiet retreat from the situation, and then turns her eyes to Saélihn, who seems to be seeking comfort in her mother. For a moment, Gronilda says nothing, simply letting the silence fill the space between them all.
Finally, with a heavy breath, she walks over to where the group has congregated, her tone soft but steady "This wasn't easy for anyone," she begins, her voice carrying a calm sincerity "I won't ask if it was right or wrong, but I do want to know..." she looks around, meeting each of their eyes in turn, "...how do you feel about it?"

I didn't believe him, but... it makes me feel sick that he might have been telling the truth, finally, and that maybe what I said caused ... that. It was public and awful, and even though there isn't any other authority we can go to right now, I feel like we should have talked about it more. I was trying to give him a chance and then we just lopped his head off? Honestly, it makes me want to leave... but where else is there to go?

After speaking with her mother and gaining a bit of perspective and reassurance, Saélihn joins the others, addressing Zarena's misgivings.
"That isn't on you, we all were thinking much the same thing." she says, her eyes scanning across the faces of her companions. "He lied to us twice, and was likely lying again. He would say anything to save his skin, which was the problem."
Pausing to think through her words, she looks the sorceress in the eyes. "Even if he was telling the truth, he would escape the moment he found the opportunity, and if the Ironfangs got a hold of him, he would sell us all out in a heartbeat if it meant he lived another day. We've seen what would happen if they found us...watched as they butchered and burned everything around them. If you want to leave, go ahead, but you'll be lucky to survive more than a day or two."
The rising intensity of her words tells of the underlying trauma being suppressed, in order to focus on protecting those that needed her help. Pushing away the worst of it to deal with when there was no longer a threat of slavery and death hanging over their heads.

Inside the redoubt
Kining, do we have any shovels? I want to bury him a ways from here so we don't have to pass by his grave all the time
Kining grabs an old blanket and wipes her face off. "Damn Molthuni sure know how ta bleed. I got a couple suggestions since we don't got shovels. Either we dig a pit using whatever we can find to dig. Shields, planks. .. Or, we make use of the quicksand surrounding this place. Toss 'im in and let the earth do the work for us."
Many of the villagers seem relieved, some even ecstatic about the spy being rooted out. Some even sing as they begin preparing for the day, and then they head in and out of the Redoubt, returning with leaves, branches and pinecones. It looks like they're building something?
On the other hand, Aubrin places her hands over the head and body of Edran, and whispers a prayer. Then she shakes her head and walks outside to hear the conversation.
Outside
Aubrin finds a place on the walkway surrounding the redoubt to sit with her legs hanging as Zarena, Saélihn and Gronilda consider Edran's fate. "As a follower of Cayden Cailean, death is not an end to be dreaded. It is transition to a different kind of freedom. One where souls can rejoice in an endless celebration, without fear or sorrow. Or the baggage of having become a spy from a warring nation." She lifts her tankard to take a sip, but there's nothing left. She sighs loudly. ".... But we also believe in second chances, and giving people a chance to change. I regret we didn't choose a different path. Circumstances such as the ones we are in are unique, and I am finding myself forlorn yet at the same time relieved," she looks at Zarena for a long while before adding, "I'm really not sure how I feel."

Gronilda listens intently to Zarena and Saélihn, nodding gently as their words reveal the depths of their emotions. She places a hand over Zarena's shoulder trying to show her understanding, and echoes Saélihn's words "He would have betrayed us to save his life..." The pain and uncertainty are palpable in Zarena's voice, while Saélihn's intensity speaks to the harsh reality they've faced. When Aubrin joins the conversation, Gronilda allows a moment of silence after her reflection.
"Sometimes, no matter which path we take, there will always be pain and doubt..." she begins quietly, her voice soothing but firm "I would rather bring this burden on my shoulders than see any of us dead for the very unlikely chance of turning an enemy to our side"
Gronilda's gaze softens as she looks toward Aubrin "It was a tough decision, but we lack any type of prison or chance to delay it. Erastil teaches us to protect our community above all. That protection sometimes comes with heavy consequences"
Zarena
Zarena listens to everyone, but says nothing further. When the body is moved outside, she goes inside, moves her bedroll as far from the gore as possible, and tries to go back to sleep, although she isn't sure if she will be able to.

Day 4
Most of this would've happened before the storm...
Aubrin, Shelter: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Jet, Shelter: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Kining, Shelter: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 +3 shelters
6x Commoner Forage: 6d20 ⇒ (5, 4, 13, 3, 15, 13) = 53 7 PP
2x Expert Forage: 2d20 + 4 ⇒ (10, 18) + 4 = 32 6 PP
3x Commoner Herd: 3d20 + 4 ⇒ (19, 2, 13) + 4 = 38 1 sheep. Sheep from 3 days ago generates 1 PP.
You now have enough shelter to accommodate everyone between what was constructed and the Redoubt's rooms, so we'll likely want to adjust the NPC's activities from Day 4 on if the Redoubt is going to be continue to be used as a temporary shelter.
A new day dawns and the villagers gather outside for breakfast. Aubrin finds a place in the center of the camp outside the Redoubt to speak, and smiles once everyone has gathered. "We wouldn’t have made it this far without you," she says. "Everyone wants you to know how much we appreciate what you’ve done for us. We’re going to keep pulling together until we find a place to call home. With you on our side, we will find that home! In the meantime, I’ve got something to show you."
She picks up a staff and holds it upright in both hands. A crossbeam has been tied to the top of the staff and a green scarf hangs down like a banner. Two bristly pine branches lie across the top, tied down to the crossbeam with twine. "We decided we needed a symbol," she says proudly. "Something to rally us. What do you think of it?"
Gronilda
Moved some to Crafting for tools and weapons!
Gronilda watches as Aubrin proudly displays the makeshift banner, a humble but heartfelt gesture "It's a symbol of unity and strength" Gronilda says, her voice warm and full of emotion "A banner rooted in the land, representing the bond we share with one another and the wilderness we seek to survive in" the dwarf nods with approval "I think it's perfect"
"It seems we have found a temporary home in here, but we need to start thinking about next move" she stares at the banner as she speaks "Perhaps it is time we try to find those caves while we look for any sign of the Chernessardo"

The villagers look proud of their leaders accepting the gift, and the party feels inspired all the same when they see the banner. Finally, after several days, the refugees no longer seem like survivors of a violent attack. Lizzie's family members look like they're ready to help more meaningfully. Perhaps some training is in order? Saélihn's mother prepares her poultices more easily these days, taking advantage of the herbs that are frequently found in the Fangwood. The half-elven twins practice shooting arrows with more accuracy than ever.
"I agree that the caves is a good next choice, and a more permanent home than this Redoubt, however charming it may be," Aubrin adds. "But with their current optimism, I think now is also a good time to give our other friends here more opportunities."
Re: the Banner. As long as it's visible or held high, the Hemlock Banner grants a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and saves vs. fear to the party and any allies within 30 feet. Added to the tracker.
And now for the villagers, you have the opportunity to promote them with 1 skill check per PC. This could mean retraining them to another NPC class (Commoners can become Adepts, Aristocrats, Experts or Warriors), or to have them gain a level in their current class. This requires a DC 10 Diplomacy, Intimidate, Perform (oratory), or Profession (soldier) check. For every 5 you exceed that check, you generate 1 additional promotion which could be the same or for a different villager. GM bonuses might apply for roleplaying :)
Can each of you choose a villager (or more than one, if you roll 15+) from the sheet if your character feels up to it, and then RP the interaction with the roll? I would imagine Zarena may not feel up to such a task after last night's event and I'm saying this so that you know it's optional, but all of you can feel free.

As Gronilda prepares for her daily prayers to Erastil, she notices Aiza, one of the orphans the group had saved, watching her intently from the edge of the camp. This wasn't the first time Gronilda had caught the young girl following her, often mimicking her gestures during prayer or quietly observing as she tended to the needs of the group.
Today, after her prayers, Gronilda finishes by rising slowly and looking directly at Aiza "You've been paying attention to my prayers to Old Deadeye, haven't you?"
"Erastil's ways are simple, but they are strong" Gronilda continues "He teaches us to care for our community, to work hard, and to protect the home and family. I see in you the beginnings of someone who understands these things."
Gronilda kneels to Aiza's level, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder "Would you like to learn more? Not just about the prayers, but about how to live the way Erastil teaches us, to become someone who can help others, just as you’ve been helped?"

Zarena feels better after getting some sleep, and when Aubrin says they should take a training day rather that look for the caves immediately, she thinks it is a fairly good idea... good to move past last night and get everyone's mind on something good and productive.
After seeing Gronilda teaching someone and some of the halflings looking on, she approaches Lizzie.
Hey Lizzie. Thanks for being there with me yesterday, and for speaking up last night. Sorry I wasn't in the mood to talk. ... I was wondering, do you think that your family would like to do some basic training? You're good at things I'm not, and we could test them, see what people are good at, and maybe help them do better in the forest? Foraging and hunting both require a quick eye and a quick hand... maybe we could work with them together?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
That's 5 promotions, if I am calculating correctly, so all of Lizzie's family could become experts (her choice of skills since they are her family), and one of the unnamed commoners will gain a name, and discover some magical talent, and I'll show him how to do a cantrip? [Added a name: Zade, and a note to the list, but feel free to remove if that doesn't work.] (Also, Gronhilda rolled high enough to have 3 more promotions, I think.)
Zarena spends some time with Lizzie's family, sharing tips and tricks about noticing little things in the forest Pay attention to things that seem out of place. You might notice an animal, or a human passed this way... a scuff in the dirt, the end of a branch broken as someone pushed it aside... listening to the sounds to know if a predator is near The most important thing is paying attention beyond yourself. The forest is alive, and it will tell you a lot if you are paying attention..., feeling the texture of different leaves to know which are edible... feel that on the back of the leaf, Emily? It feels a bit like fur., although Lizzie's father seemed to be the most perceptive of them.
When Zade wanders over to listen as well, she can feel right away that he has some natural talent, and after she finishes her lesson and Lizzie steps in to teach them to be lightning quick, Zarena steps aside with Zade and tests him to see if he can learn how generate a spark to light a campfire. He can't do it at first, but he got it to glow, and she says Wow, Zade, not everyone can do that. You have some talent. Try closing your eyes for a moment to get rid of the distractions, and just feel the fire, focused on your fingertip. When he is successful, she smiles and helps him understand the ideas behind a couple of other simple spells, explaining that whispered messages at a distance can help you coordinate while hunting, and mending is always handy for clothes and broken arrows. Gronilda: Success, Aiza is an Adept. As Zarena mentioned, you actually have another two promotions with that roll if you want to choose up to 2 other NPCs.

The party advances once more through the Fangwood, with Saélihn, Gronilda, and Grymwold taking turns looking out for markings and paths through the trees that seem similar to the orientation of the map. After a few hours of steady travel towards the caves, the party arrives at the Fangwood's eastern edge, where a road cuts through the wilderness. The distant sounds of clinking armor, the steady trot of horses, and the creak of squeaky wheels reach their ears.
Peering cautiously from the treeline, they spot a covered wagon drawn by two horses. Inside sit two heavily armored hobgoblins, while four more march alongside, unaware of the party's presence.
Keep going, or do something about the wagon?
Gronilda
"Six hobgoblins. A strong patrol but one we can take down. This might be our chance" she whispers to the others, her voice low but determined "There could be prisoners in that wagon, or a high-ranking hobgoblin. If we hit them now, we might gain an advantage here"
She glances back toward the group "What if the refugees create a distraction? Something that makes them stop, while we launch a surprise attack from the trees?"
