Windows line all the walls except those to the north in this nearly bare room. A simple bed rests in a corner next to a leather-bound chest and a small table. The wooden floor is splintered and cracked, and the white paint on the walls is chipped and smudged.

Two scrapborn guard a battered and bruised man. Likely, the captain though he looks like he's seen better days. They move forward to attack; the captain hides under the sheets of the bed.

Eleanor gets the drop on these creatures…

What!? You're not here to collect a debt? I owe so many people now. I'm captain Hamari, owner of this barge… at least until I'm killed or it's repossessed. Nothing's gone right since I met my lovely Zridi… I've let her down and messed it all up.

He tells you a story.

Hamari spent years with his gambling ship going up and down the Junira, meeting moderate success. He met a beautiful women named Zridi who convinced him to spend his life s savings on extremely lavish improvements to the ship's interior decor. Indeed, looking around you can see opulent furnishings and gold rococo trim.

It was so hard to make ends meet, but she thought these upgrades would help my "brand" and get me more business. A good investment. Sadly nothing has seemed to work out… it's my fault. I must not have done things right. My beautiful Zridi only wanted the best for me…

Now, Seddek, this awful loan shark, has come to collect. He's taken over my ship and used it as a prison for people he doesn't like. Maybe poets and tinkerers? I don't really know. He's kept me locked in here. There's something big moving around belowdecks, I can tell you that. And he has these weirdos with him, their brains are fried and they keep rambling about 'Amity being dead' or something. Must be cheap help, but they're violent.

He sketches you a quick map of the ship. There's one deck below, an entry that leads to a saloon where prisoners are kept. Seddek usually isn't here… am I free to go? I need to find Zridi and tell her I'm safe. She must be so worried about me. I'd hate for her to fret. It's all my fault!

Female Gnome Champion 6, HP87, AC 24/26, Perception +8, Fort+13, Refl+10, Will+10

The gnome sets her shield and flickmace down. I am Zephrena, a follower of Sheylin. Please let me see to you good Captain. She also casts Charming Touch as she does this.

Hopefully this goes well!

Does the Captain have actual injury? Zeph would use her Lay on Hands ability on him first.

SoT (Year 4, Sem. 1): Maps & Slides, Handouts, Macros

Can't wait to start! We can discuss character creation and whatnot in Slack. For now I'm looking at these guidelines:
____________________
CHARACTER CREATION

This module has a theme of art and artists. While you'll need to be capable adventurers you probably want to have some kind of connection to the art world, be that as an artist yourself or a tastemaker.

Free Archetype

We'll use a select list of free archetypes:

acrobat
alter ego
celebrity
dandy
folklorist
linguist
vigilante

I'm open to ideas if you have a particular concept in mind too.

Starting Wealth

You start at level 4. 140 gp lump sum per PC, or an item array of 1 level 3 item, 2 level 2 items, 1 level 1 item, and 30 GP. Honestly I think the lump sum is easier but maybe you prefer the other way!

Access

All Uncommon options from sourcebooks are available. Rare, or Uncommon from an AP, check with me first.

____________________
PAPERWORK

If you've player with me before you know I have a macros sheet for you to fill out in addition to the normal slides. You can use the macros for your own character profile too.

1. Put your token on the maps & character reference slides.
2. Enter your Perception, default Exploration Activity, and any secret rolls you want me making for you on the macros sheets. There is an example sheet in there too.
3. We'll put up an RPG Chronicles at the end.

Hero Points will be tracked on my spreadsheet to help me remember.

Let me know if you need help with anything.

SoT (Year 4, Sem. 1): Maps & Slides, Handouts, Macros

There's a technology movement happening in Lamasara where you'll be having the bulk of your adventures.

So, let's add Sterling Dynamo and Scrounger to the list of free archetype choices.

Gnolls, catfolk, dwarves, and Garundi humans are common.

I put the gazetteer up in Slack for you.

I am glad to hear you are doing better. I wish I knew, I would have paused the game.

If it helps, the group will pause while you continue recovery. It's important we all stick together and progress through the story in a healthy and mutually respectful manner as a team. Just let me know here or on Slack.

FYI, On Friday 9/15 I'm leaving on a trip. I wont be home till 9/26.
The whole time I'll just be on my phone and wont be able to manipulate the map to move my character around. I should have plenty of free time to check in on the game. However, the middle of my trip we will be camping in Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho. I'm not sure if we will have any cell service.

Please feel free to post for Zephrena as needed. She would always try to avoid fighting and killing if she can. But will heft her shield and lay down a beating with her flickmace as needed. Don't forget her Lay on Hands, diplomacy, and intimidation skills. She also speaks several languages that maybe some others don't have.

There is this site with some information about it. I learned it the hard way, when I volountered to help with slides for special a PBP convention ago. I did not know that Doug did it for lower tier. So he had amazingly cool looking tokens with numbers and mine looked like pulled from under hienas tail.

I think he uses Photoshop (I saw gif videoes of him doing it), I tried to replicate it with google slides and grooping but I guess the key part is to move 'face' of the monster to the side so that number fits.
