of that's me your talking about, i played part 1..just with a different character...just so you know. But Cara is young and innocent....doesn't know anything...
That does make things easier. No need to avoid saying who was behind the disappearances or any of the other details.
Thanks for letting me know. Guess we don’t have to worry about spoilers!

My father-in-law unexpectedly passed away last week the day after we left for vacation. He had been in the hospital for the week prior for tests, but we understood his condition to be "stable" before we had left.
He was a remarkable man and is deeply missed. His passing is hitting my family quite hard, especially having happened so soon after the loss of my mother just a few months ago.
Please, feel free to start up part 2. I very much intend to participate, but my posting may be sparse for another week or so. Feel free to bot John whenever necessary.
I'm sorry for the loss. Take whatever time you need.

Does someone want to Bot Evelyn?
I don't have any experience with how Swashbucklers work so I'm not the best choice for it. Maybe just delay her and let her enter inits when she gets back?

It is Wednesday which means I will likely not have much time for updates today. Any updates are likely be short answers to questions.
Feel free to ask questions of the Escoros family and make any plans. I imagine it being late afternoon — say between 2pm and 4pm. I don’t think the exact time of day matters.

Really sorry about disappearing. Things got rough for a bit.
No problem. Real life comes first. I hope things are better for you.
If you need to deal with things and have the time, I do appreciate a note. It allows us to be more aggressive about Botting. I fully realize that isn’t always practical.

No problem I just noticed you hadn't posted in a while and Azalmak is much stronger than Gaius. :)

Thanks for reminding me of the crit range, Gaius. I'm still pretty new to 1e, and it seems like there's much more to remember than 2e.
You're welcome. :) I had to be reminded that a bow was a x3 crit since I hadn't critted with one since...(counts on fingers and toes)...EVER.
I've had a PC killed by a bow crit but that's as close as I was to one.

Just a heads up, Gencon has started, and I'm running a full schedule of games. I'll try to update when possible, but please feel free to bot me.
I forgot that was this weekend! It will probably be slow going for many players.
Hopefully you have fun!| GM Bret |

Judging from the announcements and everything, GenCon is quite busy this year. I am loving all the information coming out about Starfinder 2e.
Would someone like to Bot Azalmak?

@GM: Will that allow the PCs who haven't been hit by it to avoid the brown mold? That NL damage is stout.
This is the sort of question that works better here in the Discussion area.
I gave a hint of one possible solution. I’m sure there are others.
Now that someone is at the top, it wouldn’t be difficult to attach a rope to the gate or hook a grapnel somewhere. Then you could lower the rope to the two people that still need it.

That's what I was asking about so I'll take it that's a 'yes'. 8)

I'm also interested and will also take 10 on Profession (Librarian) for a 16.
Gaius Marius

Absolutely interested, but no day job here.
Does that mean Azalmak's day job is BUM?!?! ;)
| GM Bret |
Yeah, each of the three systems has different rules for downtime. I like the simplicity of the system in SFS, but have grown to appreciate the balance and details allowed by the system used in PF2. Best part of the PF2 system is everyone has something they can use as a skill for the downtime.
It may take me until Thursday to get everything wrapped up and be ready for the last section. Wednesdays tend to be busy for me and I’ve got something going on from late afternoon into the night tonight.
I will get you back to town and feed you information so you know what is coming up for the third part. Each of the three adventures in this module run a little differently.

John will continue. He has no Day Job.

Just had to read over the day job rules again. I assumed that as in SFS, only Profession counted, but I see that Perform works too!
[dice=Perform (Dancer) day job]1d20+5
But is he a private dancer? Dancing for money? And any old music will do???

no day job for me...
and a Tina Turner reference? nice...
I'm amazed anyone here is old enough to get it.

I still need Evelyn and Cara to sign in on RPGChronicles so that I can create the chronicles. I do not recommend creating an account as a player. Most people have enough accounts out there, you get very little as a player creating an account. Remember, if you want to apply it on the same character for the next section you must be 3rd level or less.
I am currently working on the slideshow for the last section of the module. I hope to have it ready tomorrow.

Gaius will need Slow advancement on this Chronicle to keep him at L3. Unless everyone wants my curse gone in which case I'll go... :(

Alright, there are a couple of minor issues on the RPGChronicles. I’m going to see if they can quickly fix it. Hopefully it is alright with people if the chronicles are delayed a day.
Normal track the rewards are 3 XP 4 Prestige 1536 gp.
Slow track the rewards are 1.5 XP 2 Prestige 768 gp.
If it doesn’t appear that they will get it fixed soon, I will create the chronicles myself.

Since it is all the same people, would you prefer I just do the second part in the same campaign? I didn’t want to do it for part II because it went from a game associated with a PbP convention to a private game. These would both be private games.
It's easier just to use this one isn't it? If so then sure I don't mind.

GM Bret wrote:@GM: I'm not sure how Pathfinder calculates things but I'd guess the Chronicle include the max bounty plus the loot found.12 x 5 + 4 x 10+ 100 = 200 gp.
Chronicle gives 768 slow track, 1536 normal track.
It sounds to me like the chronicle is a much better pay out than worrying about exact number of goblins.
The point I was trying to make is that your characters have earned quite a bit more than the simple bounty.
Let’s not get caught up in exact counts of how many bounties your group got. You wiped out the fortress and your characters give an accurate account. In my mind, that is what is important.

It is what's important and I never said otherwise. Sorry if you think I was being critical.

That's perfectly fine with me.

By the way, you would apply the above chronicles before starting this adventure. If you want to go shopping, go ahead. If it is something strange, we will just assume a merchant passing through town happened to have the item. More common items can be found in town.
This town has cold iron versions of all common weapons.

Would +1 be available? I don't know how the PFS 'common items' rule intersects with smaller towns.
