Now that I remember it, Na'alu is blinded, so he couldn't cast charm person on Ki Chin at this round. Instead he takes cover.

Kiyoko grunts as the robot's spear finds its mark in her off-hand shoulder. The sword saint steps forward to follow the automaton, ducking past its guard again. Her katana exiting its saya with the hiss of adamantine on lacquered wood, the blade is a black blur as it bites deep into the construct's torso.

5-foot-step, swift to challenge, standard to complete a full-round action and perform an Iaijutsu Strike. Kiyo's AC is now 15 against the robot and 13 against Na'alu.

In addition, all enemies within 30' must make a DC 12 Will save or be shaken for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 rounds, per Terrifying Iaijutsu.

Robot shatters to pieces by strike of katana. Na'alu has suffered severe burns, but isn't shocked by destruction of his servant.

As the Mwangi wizard falls, Kiyoko casts a wary look about for more opponents before resheathing her katana. “The wise man does not prepare so poorly when outnumbered,” she says, addressing the corpse as much as anyone.

She looks to Elemenar after he decodes the man’s messages. “So he hoped to profit from our own investigations, I assume? I know little of this ‘Technic League’—are they friends of the Aspis?”

Return trip back to Nantambu is uneventful. Malika Fenn’s report confirms Aya’s suspicions that the Aspis expedition is planning to investigate the same area that Venture-Captain Sharrowsmith was researching before his party’s disappearance. The intelligence also reveals that the consortium is sending a lot of manpower along with the expedition, including several veteran field agents with grim reputations.
