The golden double doors enter into a wide hallway, ten feet wide and twenty feet long, with a decorated ceiling twenty feet high. At the east end of the hallway, a five-foot-wide doorway leads to a stone stairway down. Two stories beneath the entry chamber, the stairs open into a thirty-foot-by-forty-foot chamber of cold gray stone, its fifteen-foot-high ceiling supported by four granite columns flanking a single stone sarcophagus. Despite the austere decor in the crypt, the lid of the sarcophagus is carved in the form of an obese man with a gaunt face, his bony hands clutching an intricate scepter of interwoven mithril filigree.
As you enter, a flesh golem ambles out of the corner

lol...well...I cant make that...Dimak...want me to use the scroll on everyone? i think we can help pay for it...i have my own spell to use on me...
Yes, please cast it on me and everyone who wants it.

Claremguard reaches for the potion of enlarge person that Dimak provided earlier and prepares to drink it. "Now? My friend?"
Readied action to drink it, if Dimak gives the okay. (The paladin doesn't want to use another's consumable without permission).

Saphera takes a moment to carefully observe the large mound of flesh. After getting a solid look at it, she once again conjures a protective barrier.

I won't have access to the map until later this evening. Sory for the delay.

Anyone who needs a Lesser Restoration can use one of Derf's. Also, if anyone can use a Wand of Longstrider, feel free to use mine. Can anyone use a Wand of Feather Step? If not, I will UMD.
Since Guidance is available, I will take advantage of it.

Derf checks for traps.
Perception+Guidance: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Then, if it's safe, Derf waits for the rest of the party to prepare, lets the strong people open the door. Then sneaks just ahead of the others.

Derf tries to dodge in, just in case the damn thing has some sort of special reflexes.

If that does beat his CMD, he is at -3 on the attack.

Outside:
Anyone who needs a Lesser Restoration can also use one of Dimak's. Saphera and Goran can cast the spell from their spell list, so let's use two from each scroll to 'un-fatigue' the party?
"Aaaah... that's way better! Thanks, Goran!"
Dimak pats his fellow pathfinder on the back. He also thanks Derf for the feather step spell.
"I should probably get such a wand, too..."
This time, I'll keep the potion ready to use...
The barbarian pulls his potion of Enlarge Person out of his backpack and draws his hammer. He holds it in his right hand and follows Derf inside, the potion still in his left hand.

Inside - in initiative:
When he notices the golem, Dimak answers Claremguard: "Yes, now!" He guzzles down his own potion, then grabs his hammer with both hands while getting bigger and bigger, letting his anger grow along with his size.

CMD of the flesh golem is 24.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 5
It does not detect Derf.

Makes sense

![]() |

When he notices the golem, Dimak answers Claremguard: "Yes, now!"
Claremguard imbibes and embiggens!

![]() |

I think it us the golem's turn now.

![]() |

Have you all actually done first round actions, or just buffing beforehand?

![]() |

Round 1 actions (as I understood):
Dimak: drinks a potion of enlarge person, moves a bit, starts rage, shouts at golem
Claremguard: drinks a potion of enlarge perso
Hunter: delays after the golem
Derf: attacks golem
Saphera: casts shield of faith
Goran: casts bless
I think, as we had to go downstairs to come to this chamber, that we did not cast shield of faith or bless (or drank potions) before combat because of the short duration of these buffs.

![]() |

OK then
The golem lumbers forward, squeezing past the pillars. For some reason it seems to have taken an immediate dislike to Hunter, but Derf is in the way. So Derf gets thumped.
slam: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 bludgeoning: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 8) + 5 = 15
slam: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24 bludgeoning: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 3) + 5 = 14
It then tries to push Derf out of the way, attempting to get past
cmb: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
Everyone is up, Hunter can come out of delay and take a set of second round actions.

![]() |

Is the golem still in the corner of the room, or did it get past Derf and the map needs to be updated? The "Lumbering forward, squeezing past the pillars," leads me to think it moved.

Hunter William |

Hunter moves and fires at the golem hit: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 14 + 1 = 29 with point blank shot dmg: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 = 13
on my 2nd round I'll reload from that spot and fire again hit: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 1 = 24 dmg: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9

![]() |

Could be wrong, but I think it might be knowledge arcane, which Saphera got the crappy roll of 11. Meh, dice-bot.

Then Derf pulls out his Wand of Cure Light Wounds move action.

![]() |

Unfortunately Derf's boot just misses.

![]() |

I know you named this thing as a flesh golem in the post. Are we commonly aware that this is a construct in character. I ask this with the intent of using bane. If we don't know what it is, then I wouldn't be able to bane against it. If we commonly recognize it as a construct, then I would be able to.

![]() |

Derf gets knocked out of the way as the golem advances. It takes two shots from Hunter (-12) What are Hunter's arrows made of?
@Derf: You took two hits for a total of 29 damage... so unless you have DR 5, you're at 27/56 HP...
@phaeton_nz: Hunter has bullets (revolver).
It looks like the golem moved more than a 5-foot-step. In that case Dimak gets an AoO with his longhammer - 20 ft reach. ;-)
"DIMAK... SMASH... YOU!"
AoO Rage MW Longhammer, Dwarven + RA + PA + bless: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 22
Bludgeoning + enlarged + PA: 3d6 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5) + 10 + 6 = 28
The barbarian then 5-foot-steps back (see map) and drops the longhammer (back to 10 ft reach - there is too little space in this room to take advantage of it, anyway).
He draws his greatsword and attacks again.
"AND DIMAK SLASH YOU, TOO!"
Rage MW Greatsword + RA + PA + bless + flanking: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 19
Slashing + enlarged + PA: 3d6 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) + 10 + 6 = 25
Now I'd need to know if my AoO hit... because, if it did hit, I'll use a rage power on the normal attack in round two:
Auspicious Mark: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Lucky! ^_^
Total Attack roll (incl. flanking): 25
Auspicious Mark (Su) The barbarian has been marked by the spirits, as indicated by an impressive tattoo, scar, or birthmark she possesses. Once per rage, as a swift action that costs 2 rounds of rage, the barbarian can call upon the spirits' favor. Using auspicious mark grants her a +1d6 bonus on one d20 roll she has just made. She can call on the auspicious mark after seeing the result of the d20 roll.

![]() |

The AOO did hit so, presumably, the normal attack did hit too. (-32). How much damage did that do? And for the purposes of DR, I need to know what Hunter's bullets are made from.
Since I said it is what it is, I'll allow that knowledge in character. It is fairly obvious.

Hunter William |

Hunter does have adamantine bullets, but his first shot would have been a regular bullet as his gun is preloaded. Once he fires and finds out the bullet doesn't pierce as well as he thought, his second bullet would adamantine bullets.

Knowing she is likely going to take a solid hit from the creature, Saphera can’t help but try to move into a more tactical position before engaging the beast. At the first opportunity, she moves around the first set of pillars and then moves in closer.
Saphera will make a double move, which will provoke an AoO from the creature.
“Derf, could you slide over a little so I can get behind this thing. I’m a lot more effective if I’m flanking it.”
Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm flanking in this corner or not. So many large combatants.
