Three wide corridors branch from this intersection. All around, the walls of the temple are made of thick piles of rotting ship lumber, rusty anchors, and crumbling humanoid bones.

Just to the north the channel of water running through this room’s floor passes under a waterwheel connected to a pair of grinding stones. Next to the waterwheel lies a pile of bones. A pair of amphibious fey giants lounge about near the waterwheel. Their most distinguishing feature are their oversized mouth and the two rows of axe-like teeth therein. This is made distinctly clear as one of the creatures has its oversized mouth clamped firmly around the waterwheel, bringing it to a halt.

Does it seem like they are aware of our presence?

They are not quite yet.

Daehalya tries to determine what they are looking at.

"I imagine freeing that wheel will go a long stride toward freeing the ship," she whispers, wondering if that means a fight or a negotiation.

Not a one of you recognize the lanky fey giants as they gnaw on the wheel. Each bite leaves deep gouging marks in the thick lumber.

With a small bit of time before combat, he makes sure to load his crossbow and have it at the ready. Waiting for others to give a signal of parlay - which he'll gladly start- or combat.
The later, Nicky is ready to participate in, knowing he's not the most proficient martial member.

The fey giants growl as the one releases the water wheel. It creaks and moans as it begins to slowly churn once more. "Mmmhm, the Lantern King sent us another meal. Those draugr left me hungry days ago."

One of the creatures unhinges its lower jaw, revealing in the process a yawning portal nearly the size of a human doorway—convenient, considering its favorite food is humans and their ilk.

The second one smacks it in the shoulder. "Wait, this one speak fancy word. Know of ship. Lantern King send us here. Don't like Ragadahn." They both smile, though the hungry portal of a maw doesnt close.

Nicky recalls a small bit about the Lantern King. Although the Lantern King most often appears as a floating ball of light surrounded by runes that form a delicate crown, the Eldest of laughter, mischief, and transformation has taken on a dizzying array of figures. He often adopts alternate shapes to play pranks, and even other Eldest are not immune to his mischievous scheming. Although he insists his pranks are intended only to incite levity and bring down imperious snobs, the chaos he creates in the name of good-natured fun is, to his targets, embarrassing at best and sometimes outright lethal. The Lantern King wanders the First World more than other Eldest, and he can be encountered in crowded markets and lonely byways alike. He is frequently accompanied by the Witchmarket, a traveling caravan of entertainers and merchants that serves as his court.

His whole body doing a shiver shake from head to toe.
Nicky looks down slightly at the hairs on his arm and they stand on end.

He waits with bated breath for the giant's reaction.

The fey giants eyes narrow but overall the big words do indeed cofuse their feeble minds. Their strange mouths shrink back to normal as they give you a wide berth and leave the Temple. "We not want to die in a Temple to Ragadahn" They grimace as they flee, not thinking twice about the situation.

Peeking around the corner Nicky spots Daehalya's strange fish and undead milling about i a large pool. The pool looks about four feet deep and is lined with tar-sealed wood. The air smells strongly of algae and fish.

Nicky gives Grundle the thumbs up sign.

Pssst. In here! Bad-dd guys.

"Well done, Grundle," Daehalya says, impressed -- and a little frightened -- with the gnome's wordplay. She wishes she could speak as well, but she knows her strengths lie in a different area.

At Nicky's words, she looks back at their other companions. "Shall we try again to frighten them away? I thought wights had no love for the living, but they seem to be fine with that fey."

"If a fey is willing to cohort with the undead, then the fey is an raveller and deserves no such mercy," the amurrun growls quietly from behind his wooden leopard mask.

Grundle's eyes flit to Alvarius. He says nothing.

Alvarius hunches further into his robes, doing his level best to look human. "I'm sure it's all a bit complicated. These things usually are."

Wow. Youch. What a burn!

Nicky says after listening to his fellow friends. He doesn't comment further, but instead gears up for combat. Putting away the crossbow and pulling out his word and getting the buckler ready.
Ready to start initiative!

Nicky thinks to himself. I'm usually the one to say hurtful things that others have to ignore. This time it was Onye. That's a first.

Daehalya pauses. "I might have agreed with you once, Onye Dinta, but do we not consort with the undead too? Alvarius has certainly made me wonder whether I carry certain prejudices in my own heart. Sometimes it seems like up is down, and down is sideways, at least since I stepped through that first Aiudara."

That said, I don't think those wights will be as nice as Alvarius, so I'm ready to go beat them up.

”Accident of the aiddara,” the catfolk says as though that explains everything.

The group prepares for combat. As they discuss the prejudices of mankind your voices carry across the cavern attracting the attention of the undead as they hiss. "Ah, new menu..." They are cut off and at a loss for words as they are unsure how Alvarius will taste.

Alvarius easily shocks the pair standing in the pool of water. Ezgara knows this fey fish to be a Grodair. Grodairs are bizarre fishlike creature native to the First World. Their supernatural physiology includes a strange organ with an extradimensional space capable of storing thousands of gallons of water. This grants grodairs the ability to create a suitable environment for themselves anywhere by releasing the water, quickly transforming any surrounding land into a shallow bog. When grodairs wish to leave for a new location, they simply suck up all the water back up. When necessary, grodairs can also travel on land by walking upon the tangle of long, fleshy tentacles that dangle from their bellies.

Spinning quite the tale Daehalya feels empowered to take on the fey. Onye better positions himself against the wight, a powerful claw sweeps across the undead's chest, removing nerly all of the rotting skin.

Nicholo's stratefy doesn't quite go as planned though he does trick the undead.

Nicholo gets fancy as at first he appears to strike at the fish, then quickly turns to strike at the wight. Instead of the fluid motion and the cool pose he had envisioned in his mind, he slips in the water, nearly sumerging himself as he catches himself on the edge of the basin.

The fey fish gurgles as it spits water at him.
