Nicholo Reiland – A former worshiper/partier of Cayden Cailean. A tiefling that loved to play jokes, live fast and free. He even worked for the Traveling Circus, until that circus made it’s way to Cheliax. The Nation that puts Tieflings to heel, despises freedom, and actively persecutes those that worship gods exactly like Cayden Cailean!
Nicholo, or Nicky as he has his friends call him, bit off more than he could chew in Cheliax. Imprisoned for little more than “being Nicky”, he lost everything. His wonderful girlfriend, his job, and his devotion.
Landing on an island just off the city of Kintargo at a place called Castle Thunder for a mid-level member of House Thrune, Nicky found his chance to escape and be free after “The Vanishing”. Where he was at, had closed doorways to the second layer of Hell, known as Dis. The land controlled by Dispater. The place warped him. Some of that was done by The High Lord of Fort Thunder. Some was done by the contract devil in residence there. Some was done by the menagerie located on the island.
One thing that the island did teach him was to have an eye for detail. As he got free, as he searched for answers. Answers to what happened to his past life during his absence as a prisoner and then the missing three months as he “gatewalked”. He began to investigate.
His only clue, the fact that his marriage tattoo, was replaced by The Sign of the Gatewalker. What happened makes him shudder. For it was the image of his wife- Fiametta Jinga (now Reiland) that caused him to walk through the gateway in the first place. Why has the symbol of his love and their union been replaced by THIS: ((Symbol of GateWalkers))
