Arabella slings her shotgun in a holster on her back for emphasis that she is not unarmed, and then she sets out to see who is around the fire. "If I'm not back in ten minutes, send in backup."
She approaches the camp, calling out before she will become visible, "Hello? An old lady wants to visit? May I approach?"
Harold Wainwright
Harold grabs his hunting rifle, and ensures his pistol is still belted.
He then goes over to a flank where he can nestle down in a location where he is unlikely to be seen.
He then takes his time to view the area around the campfire through his scope.

Since I won't be posting Monday, here is what I expect Arabella will do, assuming the smoke is a campfire and nothing attacks her on sight.

See dice rolls under a spoiler above for her persuasion check to make a good impression and secure aid if it is available.
"My name is Arabella. I'm with some friends. We are on a mission of mercy and could you some help if you are familiar with the plants around here. May I approach your fire?"
Arabella Stormworth-Darling
"I have no one by my side, but I have friends nearby who are watching to see that I remain safe. We were recently set upon in the night by a hostile group, so I can understand your concern. Let's converse face to face and I can explain our situation. If you need help, we can offer assistance if it is within our means."
Harold Wainwright
Harold sets himself up prone, and aiming towards the fire, looking through his scope to keep an eye out on Arabella.
He then settles his aim on one of the people around the fire, and continues to observe and listen through his headset.
Just so you understand completely, I am prone, have my hunting rifle on a bipod, and observing the camp through the scope at a distance that there will be no glint.
My hand is on the stock, but my finger is OFF the trigger, and the rifle is on safe to ensure there are no shots that are not meant to be made.

Brook tries his absolute best to seem as cool as Harold.
This does not work.Brook's gun is awesome, Brook's laser sight is beyond awesome, Brook even remembers to flick the laser toggle off so that Arabella doesn't seem disingenuous were a red dot to appear on the stranger.
Net effect? Brook looks like a 1st Season Alliance Scout trying to use a tricked out Desert Eagle as though it were a antique telescope.
If Harold were to look up, Harold might have difficulty not laughing.

It's the next day. It's a little chilly, being at a higher altitude, but sunny, so you're not uncomfortable.
Arabella sees a middle-aged woman of average build with dark straight hair, wearing practical hiking/camping clothes. There's a tent set up a few yards away.
"My name's Scara, what's yours? You say you're looking for a particular flower? What's it look like?"
Arabella Stormworth-Darling
Arabella repeats her name and sits next to the woman and starts off by thanking her for offering to help if she can. Then Arabella starts telling the story of the sick child, the description of the flower given by her father, and briefly mentions the fight with the beasts. She leaves out the part about the other humans who got torn apart by the wild animals, concerned they may be connected to Scara and not wanting to give her any immediate reason to react negatively to the situation.

Now your previous persuasion rolls kick in...
She is deeply impressed with your compassion for a sick child you don't even know.
"I've heard of those flowers, they only grow in a narrow range of altitude, and usually in the shade, so only check the northside of the rocks. I'd say you have a few hundred feet more to go up, but don't bother going more than a few hundred feet above that, or you'll be wasting your time. Would you like some tea?" and gestures to a pot that's sitting on the rocks surrounding her fire.
Arabella Stormworth-Darling
"I'd love some, but since we have a lead on the flower and time is short, I think we best be looking for the flower. I can tell you where I'm staying in town if you want to meet there in a day or two, we can thank you properly for your help and enjoy some time together."
Arabella excuses herself and tells the others about the information for finding the flower.

Seeing Arabella coming back with no issues, Harold gets up, glances at Brook, and chuckles slightly.
He then clears the round out of the chamber, and then replaces the bullet in the magazine.
He then walks over to the mule, and stows his hunting rifle. while waiting on everyone.
Brook, I am thinking you might need to get yourself a longarm, for situations just like this.
Harold continues to keep an eye on their surroundings, while waiting.

"In my head I think I have avoided that; there is something about rifles that implies intent to harm things. To me anyway. I have also never fired one."

"Let's hope we can get back in time," Arabella says as she prepares to head back.
She will briefly make notes about the location of the flowers, so if more are needed, they can be located more quickly. She thinks if the flower does affect a cure, it might be valuable information to a pharmaceutical company.
Harold Wainwright
Agreed, but I also hope that we don't run into those cats again.
Harold takes up his familiar spot in the drivers spot, and makes a rapid, but safe drive to the farmers house.

You make it back down off the mountain in a few days, deliver the flower to the family, and the grandmother prepares a draught from it (she doesn't let you watch the process), and gives it to the little girl. She says it will take a day or two to take full effect.
The entire family is extremely grateful, and invites you to dinner - it's really all they can do to repay you.
If anybody wants to do any roleplaying with the family, go for it!
