Something like this happens in a city and there'd be folk blaming goblins for the trouble sure as the sun rises in the sky. It'd been happening since goblins and tall folk first met. He figured the only reason they weren't beating on the tenement gates right now is because those so inclined were too sick to lift a brick.
After giving this a bit of thought, I'm going to nix some of that: I'm just not interested in exploring themes of racial prejudice and tension in this game. Goblins are seen as a bit weird and chaotic, sure, and there's some resentment among the wood-cutters that they get the better-paid work; but there's no more dislike of them as a whole than there is against elves, halflings or gnomes.
Are the goblins of Falcon's Hollow downtrodden and oppressed? Well sure, but so is everyone.

I'll leave it a bit for anyone else to chime in before I move us along.

"One of the most terrifying things about growing up, my dear, is discovering that the adults around you are not as all-powerful or all-knowing as you thought. Even, or perhaps especially, the ones you looked up to. "
This is sad aand funny and true and *real*

Sorry, last couple of days have been busy. Might get a post in tonight, but the rest of the week looks much better!
Wandering GM Wastrel
So it sounds like Vy needs 4 hours or so to go round her various friends and remember where it is she's going; and Scupper wants to spend some time taking notes and sketches from the books Laurel mentioned. It's early morning now, so it means you aren't going to be setting off until well after lunch. I'm happy to fast-forward things so let me know what you want to do.

Siobhan actually has to fight back tears at Cirthana's declaration and she returns the hug her adoptive mother gives her with equal fierceness before giving up and crying into her mother's shoulder.
"I will." She promises. "I will make you proud! I swear!" She squeezes Cirthana tightly and then steps back. "You know that you're the best mother I could have asked for, right?" She asks. "I don't tell you often enough but you are. I love you mum."
And then there are more hugs, because at that moment they are absolutely required.
No, *you* just rang your parents to check in with them for no reason
Wandering GM Wastrel
Apologies for the lack of fast-forward! I'm having a much busier weekend than I anticipated; I will post again tomorrow (Monday) with a view to speeding us up once more.

I really like that spoiler that Vyana has used, please would you all copy that? It means I don't have to rely on you updating the stat-line in your alias. Thanks in advance :)

Flashbacks to primary school ...
As teacher holds up Itzi's math worksheet ...
"See here, everyone! I want you all to turn in papers that look just like Itzi's. This is the perfect example."
... everyone turns their eyes to Itzi and their expressions display how much they'll all thank him ... during recess ... when the teachers aren't looking.
Vyana Yada
Can we all jsut agree that school sucked - *especily* if you were actually interested in science/maths - and then never mention it again? kthx ;)
"hapiest days of my life" yeah no
Especially so if you were almost a year younger than anyone else and smaller by far.
Can you say, 'Target of Opportunity'? I knew you could.

Back to reality (by which I mean the game): we crossed 101 posts so everyone gets another hero point. You can have a maximum of 3, so use them or lose them :)
Next hero point at 201 posts

Scupper's opponent gained temporary hitpoints equal to the amount drained so it's still alive, just.
EDIT no nevermind, you scored a crit so it's dead!
Btw, does anything happen on a critical fail attack roll? We've had a few so far already.

I think you can get Crit Hit/Crit Fumble decks if you want them, but aside from automatically missing (even against a table with AC2) there's no additional effect as written.
Wandering GM Wastrel
Ok, thanks. I think PF2 is complicated enough without adding in crit fumbles, so we'll leave as-is.

Edit - no wait it looks like focus points are infinity if you're out of combat?
As long as you have time then yes.

Hey all, just a quick head's up that we're hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow. Not too big a group, but still a bit of work getting everything set and ready. So I'll likely be offline until Friday.
For those celebrating, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Wandering GM Wastrel
I always forget about Thanksgiving, without fail, every year. Hope you all have a great holiday! I'll still be here when you log back in :)

In fairness it's not a holiday that has anything to do with us!

True
Don't forget you can use your hero points to re-roll, everyone!
Lucia changes her tuen - literly - when it bites into Alorea, going from alarm to a WHOOP of something more alive, a note of defiance and nature and growth.
Love that song. "They might be crazy, but they is my family" indeed!

I have no idea how to bot an alchemist in PF2 so we can either skip Scupper's turn (which seems unfair) or wait for him to recover from the tryptophan coma that comes with overdosing on turkey.
Alorea
If you want to bot him, I'd have him attack with his sling. Looking at his character sheet, it looks like he's forgotten to add his level to his attack bonuses. It should be +5 for his ranged attacks and +3 for his melee attacks.
Likewise, his Fortitude, Reflex, and all of his skills should each be 1 higher.

You don't understand. If the dice wish for us to fail then we fail. You can't contradict the will of the dice!

If I had to guess which player would roll negative on a d20, my answer would be "Itzi" - and so it proved :P

Alorea says, telling Siobhan about the ersatz dwarf Druingar Glintaxe.
??? He's certainly a dwarf

Are you sure?
I mean, have you checked under the beard?

It's fair to say the dice are not on your side right now!

You're just going to make me keep tapping this sign aren't you

Enjoying the interplay between lawful good and chaotic good here :)
Also, as an FYI: Scupper/Jonah is dropping from the game - nothing personal (or so I'm told), he's just not gelling with the PF2 rules. Luckily I have a way to remove his PC from the game here and now!

"As a writer, doing a long-term story, it'd be dangerous and short-sighted for me to construct the story without trap doors for every single character. Because Stuff Happens. An actor can get hit by a meteor, walk off, whatever. So I deliberately and very carefully constructed this puppy to be more or less airtight no matter what happens..."

Wrong lever! Why do I even have that lever?!
Wandering GM Wastrel
Also, we've just gone past post 201 so everyone gets another Hero Point.
Wandering GM Wastrel
OK, I have bravely dived into the monstrosity that is the PF2 rulebook (taking d6 persistent sanity damage in the process) and I can't find anything that says force damage ignores hardness. Unless someone can find the page where it says otherwise, we're going to go with hardness applying to all forms of damage.

My shield takes 3 damage from this blow and some more from the wolf, so its on X/20 now. If it drops to 0 then its broken and I can't use it any more.
Could I do a Thorin and start using tree branches as wooden shields? :)
