As the cambion leaks blood and brains into the tiles, Greta adjusts her grip and finishes the next ghoul with another strike.
Aravashnial finishes off the last ghoul trying to sneak around the north with a quick spell.
COMBAT OVER
To the West the muffled sound of chanting continues, approaching a feverish crescendo.
We're out of initiative gang. I'm going to reveal the next couple of rooms. Let me know what you do.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban clears the ghouls ichor off his blade, quickly, It seems as though we should hasten our approach to whatever debacle is occurring in that chamber and save the remaining prisoners. Shall we advance through these side doors and perhaps take them unawares?
I'm guessing we're at over 5 minutes in the building? I'll assume the Shield spell cast when we entered is gone for the remaining chambers unless told differently.

Tristan de Lion |

As the last ghoul is dropped, the Inquisitor quickly glances about to make certain everyone is still standing.

Aravashnial offers to take take care of the soldiers in the room to the North. Our heroes patch up wounds, and draw on their powers to gird themselves for the battle ahead.
The door opens:
The vaulted ceiling of this massive sanctuary reaches nearly thirty feet overhead. Smashed stained-glass windows stretch in narrow bands above the doors. Four angelic statues occupy each corner of the room, though their faces and wings are cracked and broken almost beyond recognition. The walls are covered with disturbing shapes and runes that have been scratched into the stone. An altar, befouled with grime and filth, sits against the southern wall.
Standing upon that altar a pair of identical ghouls are leading pews of ghouls in a singing prayer:
When he comes he will bring, an endless deathless joy!
One will be an offering, and another one shall join!
So sing my brothers! Sing for the son of Kabriri!
Sing for the nabasu Maugla!
Sing for soon he comes!
Singing in religious rapture, you realise that these ghouls have yet to notice your approach. Horrifically paralysed and on their knees before the altar are Horgus Gwerm and Captain Jhestander. The figures on the altar have deep violet auras of divine energy that surround them as the Ghouls join them in chorus, and the chanting and singing reaches a fever pitch.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban, fueled by Junior's song, surges ahead into the ghouls flanking Horgus and the Captain, black blade swinging in a powerful, two-handed arc as it comes down on the unsuspecting undead creature. Tristan--freely-- enters the Ritual Chamber, his longsword and shield held tightly. The Inquisitor--expeditiously--strides right onto the disgusting altar to frown at the chanting ghouls.
This place is a mess! Don't you ghouls have any pride in appearances!
The Inquisitor attempts to disrupt its chanting by plunging his longsword into its face! He--swiftly--calls on Iomedae to make his weapon Bane! His blade handily carving a gash in one of the ghoul priests.
Sped by Junior's mythic rallying cry, Greta hurries into the room calling out, "Don't let them kill either prisoner! The song says one has to be an offering." When she arrives directly behind Gwerm, she begins to rock in time with Junior's song and swings her longhammer at the ghoul next to the captain, killing the ghoul instantly.
Calling on her own spring of inner power, the petite warrior starts moving again, passing by the captain and striking at the glowing ghoul on the altar that's closer to her. Her hammer strikes true with an ugly crunch.

Caliban, fueled by Junior's song, surges ahead into the ghouls flanking Horgus and the Captain, black blade swinging in a powerful, two-handed arc as it comes down on the unsuspecting undead creature. Not today foul beast! he cries, looking toward their two allies as he approaches, and thankful they still breathe.

Nabasus are birthed directly into the Material Plane from the Abyss, where they feed on innocent souls to mature. Only when finally sated can a nabasu return to the Abyss. Rumor holds that even then the nabasu’s lifecycle does not change, and that further developments await them as they continue to grow. These vile demons form from the souls of evil gluttons, particularly from cannibals, blood-drinkers, and those who prefer the tang of undead flesh.

If an ally has her own rage class ability (such as barbarian's rage, bloodrager's bloodrage, or skald's inspired rage), she may use the Strength, Constitution, and Will saving throw bonuses, as well as AC penalties, based on her own ability and level instead of those from the skald (still suffering no fatigue afterward). Inspired rage does not allow an ally to activate abilities dependent on other rage class abilities, such as rage powers, blood casting, or bloodrager bloodlines; the ally must activate her own rage class ability in order to use these features.

Selann Juris |

With the others focused on the ghouls threatening their friends, Selann focuses on destroying the 'audience'....

The Inquisitor again attempts to disrupt its chanting by plunging his longsword into its face! He--swiftly--calls on Iomedae to make her Judgement! It comes swiftly, and the ghoul priest dies as dust and motes of light escape its corpse.
Greta scowls at the ghoul that’s had the audacity to survive her attack. She sees Tristan has the priest he is fighting well in hand so she decides to focus her energy on taking her ghoul priest down as fast as possible. Her first strike aims true, crushing flesh and bone, but her second strike glances off some magical means of protection.
Benedic continues his attack against what he assumes is one of the ghouls' leaders. His blade cutting deep into its flesh. Then, he holds up his shield arm and releases a wave of holy energy from his reliquary.
The light of Iomedae fills the chamber reducing all the ghouls to dust, then all goes quiet. Except for the struggling gasps of air from the paralysed forms of Horgus Gwerm and Captain Kamilo Dan.
The symbols here are prayers to Kabriri, an attempt to rededicate this temple to gods of Law and Good to the Demon Lord of Ghouls. There are prayers to a being called Maugla, chosen of Kabriri. Many of the sacrifices here are dedicated to this Maugla. Most striking is an image hidden behind a curtain of the Nabasu Maugla devouring the living.
Sir Benedic feels a light thrum from Radiance
Some of you remember Sosiel mentioning a cache of healing that would have been stored in this temple for emergencies.

Benedic |

Benedic turns to Horgus and the Captain, confirming that they are still alive despite their paralysis. Then, he begins to look over the graffiti in an attempt to determine what the ghouls were doing.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
"The symbols here are prayers to the Demon Lord of Ghouls, whose name I will not utter now," Benedic says. "This looks like an attempt to corrupt this temple. There are prayers to a being that is the 'chosen' of of the Demon Lord, and many of the sacrifices here are dedicated to him. In particular, this grisly image behind the curtain."
He twitches as Radiance moves in his hand.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
After a moment of shocked silence, he continues in an awed voice. "I believe it is important to Iomedae that we restore this temple to its former glory. It will take some time to reconsecrate it, but surely it will aid our cause sevenfold to undo the evils of the enemy wherever we can." He frowns, staring into space. "Strange that Her will should be revealed to me through the sword, for I felt it vibrate in my hand. Perhaps it is a sign that in time She will guide me to Radiance's rightful wielder."

Selann Juris |

Selann nods at Benedic's words. "Hate giving the demons anything. If cleaning the filth out of this temple is needed, let's get started." He casts a cantrip and starts scrubbing the graffiti off of the walls.
Perception to search while cleaning: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan satisfied with the urgency of the disposal of the remaining ghouls, cleans his longsword prior to returning it to his side.
There may be more to Radiance than we understand as of yet.
The Inquisitor then begins to gather anything that can hold water to begin scrubbing.
Junior! Going to need to use your soap.
Create Water

Fred Junior |

Junior absent mindedly retrieves his soap from his pack and hold it out. But then panic crosses his face and he pulls it back at Tristan's clearly ill intent. He waves his index finger at him.
Junior let's his friends rededicate the temple while he, with Amelia and Sosiel, lead the rescued prisoners to safety and distribute the healing potion to their army.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban pitches in, cleaning and carrying things to help restore the shrine to its prior condition to the best of his abilities.
