DM_Delmoth |

Yeah I should just roll some attacks.
Dawrbrün, Alethea, and Ant all are pricked by tiny arrows as you trudge through the snow. They almost wouldn't have noticed if not for the large spot of cold welling around the wound.
Shotbow vs Dawrbrün: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Shotbow vs Alethea: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Shotbow vs Anticipation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage is 1 nonlethal and you must succeed a DC 11 fort save or be staggered.

Franky and Broulnindre

Dawrbrün Amberbasher |

Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Perception to Spot Shooter: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Dawrbrün begins a dwarvish war chant. Inspired Rage: affected allies gain a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC. While under the effects of inspired rage, allies other than the skald cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

Alethea Gracchus |

Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
"Scatter!" Alethea shouts, plucking the tiny arrow from her arm and darting for the relative cover of a nearby tree.

Broulnindre |

and B too...: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
edit: finally, she notices the things! C'mere, fairies...

Lyudmilla Cotton |

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Lyudmilla looks around wildly, deep in thought just moments ago. Uncertain where the danger was and where to run, Lyudmilla drops to the ground glancing at Broulnindre with concern, listing the recipe for the candied berries nervously.
Free action to go prone, Fortune on Broulnindre and Cackle

Barnaby Bastien Bridge |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Barnaby happily pops the bountiful bonbons into his mouth as the group continues tracking the alcoholic farmer.
Farming most be lonely work.
At the sudden appearance of the crows and cold, both gnome and Ant go into freak mode!
Perception DC 100: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Ant Aid DC more reasonable, scent: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
The British are coming! Ant was it 1 by land 2 by sea?
Anticipation seems a bit preoccupied by the tiny prick (ha!) that suddenly pracked him!
Fort DC 11: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Hekla Nornsdottir |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Hekla can't discern what's going on, so she takes a Full Defense and trudged through the snow towards cover.

DM_Delmoth |

Another volley of arrows splinters pierces your flesh numbing your skin and muscles. The sprites try to remain hidden but its becoming trivially easy to triangulate their position.
Shotbow vs Dawrbrün: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Shotbow vs Alethea: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Shotbow vs Hekla: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage is 1 nonlethal and you must succeed a DC 11 fort save or be staggered.
If you've already succeeded a check to notice the sprites you don't need to make another after they try to snipe again. If not you get another chance.

Alethea Gracchus |

Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Alethea brushes off another of the tiny arrows, and this time actually spots where at least some of the things are coming from.
"There!" she shouts, pointing her falcata at a group of trees to the south, and pushes her way through the snow after the little monster.
Double move.

Hekla Nornsdottir |

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Hekla grunts confusedly at the splinter that draws a small drop of blood from her arm, but she immediately sees where it came from. She steps through the snow towards it, disturbing the deep drifts but somehow not leaving any actual footprints behind her as she does so. Within a few long strides she gets to the miniscule Fairy. Letting Dawrbrun's song drive her, she takes a swing at the creature.
Attack!: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11

Dawrbrün Amberbasher |

(Don't forget to take advantage of the bonuses from the Inspiring Rage. The Con Bonus is some help vs the poison, and there's the bonus to attack, too!)
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13
Maintaining his chant, Dawrbrün trods toward the sprite Northwest of the party's location. He keeps his shield high as he approaches (Total Defense, +4 AC).
Current total AC is 20 (17 -1 Song, +4 Total Defense)

Broulnindre |

Broulnindre looks around before happily trudging through the snow after the archer that isn't about to get swatted with a sword.

Frank E. |

perception?: 1d20 ⇒ 17
"I think I figured out where they are..." Frank says as he trudges into a better position to shoot from.

Lyudmilla Cotton |

perception: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Lyudmilla sees Frank prepping to engage and barely catches glimpses of pixies flitting about multiple treelines and tries calling out fantically in Sylvan to them.
Cackle and Fortune on Frank.

Barnaby Bastien Bridge |

Barnaby and Anticipation slowly trudge through the snow, following Alethea and Frank E. toward the piece of icicled-blue balled pixie, sprite, fey asshat! They take advantage of the snow-covered foliage.
Cover
These things seem like total a%*#++~s!
The gnome points it out to whomever can't find them.
Anticipation is seen following the Hunter like a beetle.
AC 17
Beetle: The creature gains a +2 enhancement bonus to its natural armor bonus.

DM_Delmoth |

The sprites flit about out of harms way and laugh maniacally as you foot slog your way through the thick snow drifts.
And then from three directions a brilliant cascading display of color washes over Alethea, Broulnindre, and Hekla. The magic leaves the three reeling, dizzy, and insensate.
The three mentioned need to give me Will saves vs DC 12 or be unconscious, blinded, and stunned.
unconscious, blinded, and stunned vs Alethea: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
blinded and stunned vs Alethea: 1d4 ⇒ 1
stunned vs Alethea: 1 = 1

blinded and stunned vs Hekla: 1d4 ⇒ 3
stunned vs Hekla: 1 = 1
PCs go!

Barnaby Bastien Bridge |

Because both our good gnome and handsome Ant need to continue to trudge through the snow, their player decided to be lazy.

Alethea Gracchus |

Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1 Blah. A full 1/3 of all my rolls so far have been nat 2s.
Alethea promptly faceplants into the deep snow and lies there, unmoving.

Hekla Nornsdottir |

Will Save!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Hekla barely manages to hold her wits about her against the overwhelming magical assault! She follows the dastardly creature that flung it at her, and tries once again to bring it down!
Attack!: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15
Damage!: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 +1 more vs enchantment spells... I should add it to B's sheet too...
"A-!" Broulnindre explains as she collapses, unconscious, into the fluffy white snow.

Frank E. |

"You'll pay for that!"
Gritting his teeth, Frank returns fire.
Xbow vs Blue: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Fortune: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Dawrbrün Amberbasher |

(Maintaining song and Full Defense, AC 20)
Dawrbrün continues to trudge onward towards the sprite, holding his shield in front of him to deflect any incoming arrows.

Lyudmilla Cotton |

As her companions fall, Lyudmilla stands realizing she's now alone in the glade. Steeling herself, she moves towards the sprites now that they seem occupied.
Move action to stand and another to maintain cackle.

Hekla brutally punishes the winter fairy by chopping it in half. Frank fires his bolt grazing the side of another. The fairy squeaks, "Ooooowwwaaah! That hurts you big stinky giant." Meanwhile everyone else trudges in their own special way.
Blue vs Frank: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Yellow vs Barnaby: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1 nonlethal plus DC 11 or be staggered for 1 round.
The hurt fairy retaliates against Frank, losing sight of a singing dwarf nearly there. Barnaby's fairy retorts as he's struck, "Shut your filthy mouth!"
PCs go!

Hekla Nornsdottir |

Hekla yells back over her shoulder as she turns back towards the group, "They come apart pretty easy if you can hit them! I'll come he- Alethea!" Seeing that the other young woman has fallen face-first into the snow, Hekla starts trudging double-time.

Frank E. |

"You guys started it!" Frank replies.
fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
As the magical cold from the arrow numbs him, Frank decides to get help that isn't unconscious instead of trudging through more snow.
using all my actions (one standard) to unsummon B again.
Yay no need to track her conditions now xD

Broulnindre |

Frank's eidolon once again vanishes without a trace... except a Broulnindre shaped patch of crushed snow, and some other places she trudged through...

Dawrbrün Amberbasher |

(Drop Full Defense, AC drops to 16.)
Dawrbrün swings his axe once he has closed with the distracted faerie.
Attack Pesky Sprite: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

Barnaby Bastien Bridge |

Barnaby and Ant-icipation trudge through the snow toward the asshat fey. The Hunter cast Guidance on Ant, while pointing at the asshat fey to attack!
Handle Animal (Cha) DC 10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Ant attempts to bite the asshat fey and grab it out of the snow-covered foliage!
bite, guidance: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 181d4 ⇒ 3
plus grab: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Alethea Gracchus |

Only 7 more rounds until I can act! lol

DM_Delmoth |

Dawrbrün cuts down a second fairy and its corpse flutters to the snow, alighting on top. Ant grasps the final fairy in its mandibles with a sharp clack, holding it firm.
Escape artist: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
The sprite easily wriggles free and attempts to flee straight up. OoA to anyone threatening.

Frank E. |

is that including the raging song? I think that's still going...
oh shoot, does Ant-icipation benefit from that song? Maybe if it's the visual kind of performance?

Lyudmilla Cotton |

Lyudmilla seeing that victory nears, rushes towards the downed Alethea and the final fey.
Drops cackle and FRA of movement down towards the last enemy

Barnaby Bastien Bridge |

Anticipation will accept Inspired Rage (Su): At 1st level, affected allies gain a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC.
Most likely still not enough for the AoO....
Barnaby commands Ant to continue to attack the asshat fey, while the Hunter strides around into a Flank! They both seem to be dancing to Dawrbrün"s tunes!
They both attempt to murder the asshat fey!
Melee Cold-iron Machete, rage song, flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 81d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
bite, rage song, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 231d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
plus grab, rage song, flank: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 27
Keep on dancing!
Barnaby's cold-iron machete strikes only snow-covered foliage, but Ant's bite finds the mark!
EDIT!
After dreaming a little dream, both Gnome and Ant just glare mean-liks at the high asshat in a tree fey!
Barnaby pulls out a brand new, tag still on it javelin!
Ranged javelin, rage song: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 330' 3/3

DM_Delmoth |

Unless Ant is a flying ant I don't think it can attack the sprite, 30ft up. Sorry been busy this evening.

Celestial Eagle |

The bird appears above and behind Frank. It trudges flies over to the fairy and tries to eat it.
I take it that I don't get the +1 from rage 'cause it isn't start of turn, so the bird can't choose to accept, but can I charge while flying up? That's a thing I can do, right? XD
bite+charge?: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Dawrbrün Amberbasher |

Dawrbrün stows his axe in its belt loop, and scoops up the faerie'c corpse.
He stops the song, as it seems the danger has passed, and trudges back to the rest of the group.
(I think the effect lingers for an extra round, if I recall correctly.)

DM_Delmoth |

Real quick. The eagle can benefit from rage song since it starts it's turn while song is up. Do eagles like dwarf punk? The song ends as soon as Dawrbrün doesn't take the free action to reup it on his turn.

DM_Delmoth |

It will get it since you ended it after the eagle went. For my own sanity and yours each block will resolve in post order.

Celestial Eagle |

I think only moles dislike dwarf punk, and only because of the neighbors xD
with rage song, it'll be 18 to hit for 5, then xD

Gonna fast forward a bit since this is a foregone conclusion.
The sprite, unable to escape, draws her short sword and screams at the attacking bird, "Have at you!" The pair tumble through the sky, with the sprite making a good show, and even managing to gouge out the eagle's eye. But the onslaught of the talon and beak eventually tears the sprite apart. The eagle takes the opportunity to make a snack of sprite before it disappears.
Combat over.
