Round 3
So what happen was that Airi tied up Ol' Twitchy Eye (not friends yet, so can't call him Twitch), Tannakin hugged him tightly, and Leo definitely gave Ol' Twitchy Eye the Evil Eye for good measure!
Ness just looks on with a smile at her friends attempts to save the giant rat, so that they can save the world....
Combat over! Ness may Wild Empathy Twitch!

With the last of the rats and the only survivor now in the secure hands of Tann and Airi, Ness stowed her shield on her back and turned to the nearest overturned barrel and picked up a small fish that had landed on the floor.
Then taking a step closer to the rat, a fish in her off hand and her staff in her true hand, she carefully placed/leaned her staff to the side and then bent down to the creature's eye level so her stance was less threatening. Ness made soft, soothing chattering, gentle chirping rat sounds - repeating the low, soft sounds before showing the small fish to the rat, so it could sniff it out and know it being offered some food. Ness kept her eyes level with the rat's, looking at the creature with gentle steadiness.

Glaring at the rat as the two half evles grappeled and tied up, the rat, Leo shooshed his barking Ambrose, telling the tiny Corgi to get back. "ပြန်သွားပါ။" 'Is the cheese on your chin helping? Saving the rest for you to eat later?' Looking from one elf to the other, Leo could tell by their tone they were jesting but he could not understand this joke of aged chin cheese.
Blinking, as Tannakin declared the rat loot, Leo didn't mind that Nswyn wanted to 'rescue' the rat, but he didn't want to take care of it. Nodding his head in agreement as Nyswyn fed the rat trying to calm it down, he agreed with Sansaárë. "Forsooth, Tann, thou mayest have my claim to yon rat as well." He smiles, and adds in elvish, "I've got my hands full with Ambrose."

Ol' Twitchy Eye stops fighting Tannakin, Airi and the ropes while Ness begins cooing and offering it food.
CRIT Success! Attitude goes to Indifferent, but with the Aids, let's go Friendly!
After a few minutes, Twitch's little eyes calm and he (she?) decides that Ness (and her friends) aren't so bad.
Twitch will follow Ness about, but He (she?) will need to be either set free, or Train/Bond Animal to keep around.
The young Heroes feel really good about their beginnings here in their attempt to find the Menace in Otari!
What do we want to do? Some folks are injured also...
Tannakin Skinker
Tannakin gives O'TE a big pat with the hand attached to her non-injured arm, grinning while dodging Giant Fleas.
In Elvish, she says to Leo: "I think she'll be pretty cute after a bath."
"So, we solved the mystery. It was giant rats eating the fish. Let's go collect our fee. Also, I'm bleeding. Can someone help me with that?"
Then she notices the huge hole in the wall... "I bet there are some cool things back there, though! Let's be 'splorin'!"

Raising an eyebrow as the ladies tie up and ingratiate themselves to the rat at the same time, Leo pauses, realizing that Golarion may not be all that different than the first world. Breathing a sigh that the fight was over, he nods in agreement with Tannaking. In Elvish"Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder viewer." which happens to be a non-specific floating monster with multiple eye stalks and one large eye in the center.
As Tannakin mentions needing healing, he looks from Tannakin to Anbrose, then back to the elf. Gesturing towards the corgi, as if it were the dog's fault. "My apologies Tann, I havest no skill in healing."
Nodding his head in agreement with Tannakin, "Thou are right, the basement is much cooler than upstairs. I am not sure how that relatest to our task," he gestures towards the opening in the basemen wall. "But I am willing to continue exploring yon cave." He then moves the dancing lights further into the cave, so it is well illuminated.
Nyswyn Greenseyn
Satisfied that the rat had become friendly and would no longer attack them, Ness gave a nod of approval and added in her usual manner, "If you wish the rat to be a companion, Tann, speak now or else I'll set her free elsewhere," giving the half-elf a chance to lay claim or liberate it.
Also, I'm bleeding. Can someone help me with that?"
Altering her attention to the injured, Ness clicked her tongue and then moved to Tan and laid her hand on the girl's forearm. "Stay still, Tann." Using her free hand to draw upon the unseen green strands of healing energy around them and weaving them together so they moved through her hand, releasing them directly into the half-elf's flesh, cleaning and knitting the wounds closed.
(◆) Touch Heal on Tann: 1d8 ⇒ 4 (Tann's back to full HP.)
"There, now, no marks nor scars."
Turning to the more injured Airi, who hadn't asked for help, Ness *tsked* before saying, "Your wounds are graver. I'll have to reach deeper into the Green Faith to fix you."
Ness took a step back and using her hands she began to weave the green energy, steadily, strand by strand, into a single beam of healing light and then speaking the words of power which granted her its utility, she unleashed the beam toward Airi, coating her flesh and pouring it into her body.
(◆◆) Range of thirty feet. Healing Airi (living creature): 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 (Airi's at 17/18 HP)
After she was done, Ness felt out of breath as though the effort had cost her something. Taking a deep breath and exhaling to rebalance, she told Airi, "There's a minor cut not wholly knitted. I've done my best for now and you can continue on. Sleep and rest shall fix the rest." From its place beside a barrel, Ness collected her staff and cast a look at the rat and then to Tann once more,
"So, Tann, the rat's waiting your choice. If it'd be me, I'd let her go some place safe."
Tannakin Skinker
Despite the magickal healing, Tan feels a little deflated. "I thought... well. You're probably right. It's better to be free. I don't know how long I'll be sticking around this town, and if I leave, I won't be able to take a giant rat with me. We should find Ol' Twitchy Eye a better home, though, where she won't get into so much trouble."
It's obvious that knowing the right thing and doing the right thing are two very different challenges for Tannakin. She gives the rat a hug, a pat, and a dried fish.
Nyswyn Greenseyn
"I know...you wished for me to have and train it. Not sure Verdi'd like that much as she may try to nibble on her leaves. There'll be other critters to befriend, I'm sure," she smiled reassuringly at Tann.
"So, we solved the mystery. It was giant rats eating the fish. Let's go collect our fee...I bet there are some cool things back there, though! Let's be 'splorin'!"
Ness pursed her lips and tapped her staff on the stone floor as she silently considered Tann's assertion and recommendation.
"Not sure if rats are entirely to blame. We'd best check out the entirety of this place before we go back to its owner for reward."
Sansaárë
Sansaárë grins at Twitch, as the giant rat seems to calm and accept them as not food.
It's a good thing Tann had that extra cheese!
The 1/2 elf then rubs the bite wound from the other giant rats.
Good thing these had their shots. Thanks Ness!
After the group decides to continue exploring, Airi takes the lead through the opening, nodding to Leo for his Dancing Lights.

Ness may retcon using her Heal spell for Goodberry and Treat Wounds. You may Refocus during your 10 minutes also while Treat(ing) Wounds because you are using Nature.
Leo needs to Refocus also after using any Focus Spell during Combat.
With the giant rats party ending with old and new friends clasping hands (paws), giving farewell hugs (Tann got a scratch) and depleting any further extra stores of chin cheese, our young Heroes decide that further exploration is needed.
The opening in the wall seems to be a good place to continue, so Sansaárë (with Leo's helpful Dancing Light leading the way a bit) hoists her shortsword and steps through the opening....
I will continue assuming the same as previous Exploration Modes.
I will attempt to clear the next portion of map too....

Drop into Darkness
Squeezing through the hole, you find yourself in a cavern that seems to stretch endlessly beneath the streets of Otari. Who knows what menace could be lurking down here? Up ahead, the passageway ends in a cliff that plunges sharply into the darkness.
Critical Success (The die roll was a 20 or the total was 25 or more).
The character climbs up or down the cliff, reaching their destination safely.
Success (The result of the check was 15 or more.)
The character climbs 5 feet up or down the wall. They must roll another check to complete the journey.
Failure (The result of the check is less than 15.)
The character makes no progress at all. They stay where they are at on the wall.
Critical Failure (The die roll was a 1 or the total was 5 or less.)
The character falls to the ground. If they were at the top, they take 5 damage from the fall. If they were halfway up, they take only 2 damage from the fall. If the character was trying to climb up and this was their first check, they simply fall prone and take no damage.
Rope and Other Forms of Aid
The players might decide to use rope to help them scale the cliff. They can easily tie a rope to one of numerous sturdy stalagmites nearby. Once this is done, the Athletics check to climb up or down is only DC 10; a character critically fails only by rolling a 1 on the die, and they score a critical success if the total is 20 or higher.
The heroes might also try and help each other get up and down. A character helping someone else climb must attempt their own Athletics check to assist. If they succeed, the character climbing gets a +1 circumstance bonus to their check (+2 if the assisting character critically succeeds). A hero providing assistance must still roll their own Athletics check to climb up or down themself.
The darkness recedes a bit from the intrusion of Leo's Dancing Lights. The smells of wet and mold float throughout this cavern. Looking down at the lower portion of this cavern, the Heroes make out a patch of mushrooms and a possible tunnel leading North from down there.
Athletics skill is used for Climb(ing). Unless you have another ability?

Still not understanding the need for cheese, Leo waited until everyone was fairly healed then followed the ladies to the edge of the cliff. Moving the dancing lights so they could see the bottom below Leo scowled at Ambrose as the corgi moved to the edge and started barking at the dancing lights.
Realizing they were going to climb over the edge, Leo pauses, thinking about what was in his pack, then said. "Pray thee, give me a moment." Sliding his pack off of his shoulder, he drew out a length of rope. Returning his pack to his back he tied one end of the rope to the corgi and the other to one of the stalactites. "Need's must lower Ambrose down, so then we mayest use the rope as well." Picking up the corgi he told his familiar to stay at the bottom out of the way and wait for them. "အောက်ခြေမှာနေပြီးတော့ ငါ့ကိုစောင့်ပါ။"
Having given Abrose instructions, Leo lowered the tiny corgi down into the recesses near his dancing lights. Watching Tannakin struggle with the wall, he grasps the rope telling the ladies, "Please, what is mine is yours, feel free to use yon rope, we shalt leave it here to ascend whenst we are finished exploring." He then attempts to descend the rope, as Ambrose sits at the bottom giving an occasional bark.

Ness has two focus points as she gains an extra one from her Leaf Order. I'm still going to have her refocus after healing Airi and Tann and that way she won't be left without at least one focus point in the bank?

Retcon
With two companions injured by rat bites inside a warehouse a mile from the woodlands, Ness set to the task of healing them using the old, green ways.
From the pouch around her waist, Ness removed two fresh and plump/ripe blueberries she had collected in the morning before encountering Leo and his corgi. She would have to work on one berry at a time.
Holding one blueberry in hand, and Verdi now peeking out of the coat pocket; her tiny leaves rustling with excited spirit/vigour, Ness began drawing the energy of the natural world unto her and connecting/becoming part of it. Then speaking the words of power in a strong voice, she began imbuing the berry with the healing bounty of nature.
(The next will require an interact action each from Airi and Tann)
Then, handing the first berry to Airi, for the girl had more injury inflicted on her, she instructed, "Eat this, Airi. You'll feel it healing you from within."
(◆◆) Goodberry order spell on Airi: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 HP returned (Uses 1 focus point) (Airi will be healed whole.)

Then, Ness picked up the second blueberry and repeated the order spell, then handing the berry to the injured Tann. "Please eat it. It'll do you good, I promise."
(◆◆) Goodberry order spell on Tann: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 HP returned (Uses 1 focus point) (Tann will be healed whole.)
====
Feeling a sense of sapping, Verdi moved from Ness' pocket to sit on the dwarf's crossed legs. With eyes closed, Ness began her silent communion with the nature spirit; her body still and open to the natural power. When feeling a sense of completion, Ness opened her eyes and stood up, gently stroking Verdi's leafy head before putting the tiny leshy back inside her pocket for safety. (Refocusing for 10 mins, returning her 1 focus point. I only had her refocus once otherwise the group would have to wait around for 20 mins so Ness can regain both her focus points?)

Since the berries did the trick, I didn't think Treat Wounds was necessary in this instance? I hope that was right, DG.

Present time
Even though she had spent time in the wild lands and on the rocky cliffs, there were always some kind of track and she didn't have to rely on physical climbing (she rarely climbed the tallest of trees, for instance). Ness possessed a rope, just like Leo, but since he had removed his own for their use, Ness shrugged and gladly accepted the offer.
"Hold tight, Verdi," she instructed the leshy hiding in her pocket. Then Ness took hold of the rope and began climbing down the ten feet.
Acrobatics, Untrained, to climb down using rope (DC 10): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
Phew, Ness silently thought when she reached the bottom and made her way over to her companions.
Sniffing the air and noting the wet, moldy smell, Ness moved within ten feet of the patch of mushrooms and took stock of them, attempting to identify them and any threat they may pose to the small group.

"Remember what you told me in the woods: a hurried mushroomer is a dead mushroomer, but a relaxed forager is a fun-guy!"
"Aye, you should heed my words ofttimes, Tannie girl. Now, let me think, as I rather like living," Ness replied in such a steady, almost wooden manner; her keen attention to the mushrooms obscuring her amusement in the girl actually remembering one of her lessons in the woods.
Looking from the mushrooms to the dwarf, he asks "Prithy Nyswyn doest thou know them?"
Ness sensed Leo's nearness. Lifting her hand in appeal for patience, Ness responded to her male companion, "Just a moment, please, Leo. Not too close to them mushrooms."
Dorian 'Grey'
The daunting cliff is easily navigated by Sansaárë, Nyswyn and Leo (much gratitude to Leo's rope). Tannakin (being a bit rushed, excited, swashbucky) decided to go down first without the aid of any rope just to see if she can be first!
Well, she was first, but she got a bit tangled and turned upsidedown (literally) while the others proceeded to pass her by to the bottom.

Moisture and time have obscured any details such as footprints, however. The mushrooms in the lower part of the chamber are particularly bitter, but edible.
While the 3 ladies search around for anything out of the ordinary, Leo continues to concentrate on his Dancing Lights, which allows them to do so.
All 4 of our young Heroes do notice an opening tunnel to the North, leading away into the darkness....

Once the hall is illuminated, she'll walk forwards, hanging close to the light.
Sansaárë
Leo, thanks for the lights. And Ness, the berries were delicious. Thanks.
Airi walks ahead of Tann.
I will walk a little ahead of you. Hopefully there isn't any more rats downs here.

nija'd by Sansaárë, will edit
'A fun guy? But their all girls?' Shaking his head Leo, looking at Amborse, came to the realization that just because he knew how to speak Taldane, that it didn't necessarily mean that he understood what was being said. There were obviously joke being said here that he had absolutely no idea what they meant. As Nyswyn directed he stepped back from the mushrooms. He was used to mushrooms, but these were teeny tiny mushrooms, not the ones the size of chairs or footstools.
Nodding politely to Sansaárë, "Tis my pleasure my lady." He paused for a moment reminiscing about his wonderful fey body."If I twere in my fey form, I wouldst glow for you myself."
As Tannakin asked Leo to push the dancing light forward he nodded, answering Tannakin in Draconic <"Sure"> Waiving his hand he sent the first light ahead, keeping the second between Tannakin and Sansaárë, the third between he and Nyswyn, the fourth bring up the rear so nothing could sneak up on them.
Smiling, the ladies might have jokes, but the fey had pranks. As they moved forward, he flicked his wrist and brought the second dancing light down near the top of Tannakins head, looking like a glowing halo.
Nyswyn Greenseyn
Coming out of her deep focus, Ness stated "The mushrooms are edible although quite bitter," to no one in particular.
Hearing Airi speak of the curative berries, she added, "Yes, they're full of goodness!"
Hearing sounds coming from Tann that resembled hissing snakes and a return in the same tongue from Leo, Ness waved her free hand in the air as if vexed. "Speak, so we may all understand you. Showing off doesn't help anyone," her frankness not uncommon to either girl.
As Airi asked them to be at ready for anything that may reside within the next tunnel, Ness nodded, "I'll do my best to get them to stand down."
Unlike the others, Ness didn't need the aid of the magical lights, yet she accepted their presence for the sake of the others. She caught sight of the "halo" caused by an orb around Tann's head and she chuckled, "She must be a wild angel, for sure."
Tannakin Skinker
Tan opens her eyes wide inside the orb of light... "I SEE THE LIGHT!"
"...but I can't see anything else..."
She ducks out of it, blinking rapidly as her eyes readjust, dodging if Leo makes it chase her...
"C'mon, Leo! If I get too used to this, I'll have to make you sit on my head when you're back in your fey body," she laughs.
Leialoha of the Sugalo
Chuckling at Tannakin's response to the dancing lights, he lifts it higher and a little behind her. Picturing himself sitting on her head in his mind and considering commenting about the idea of her wearing an ass-hat; he decided that he shouldn't 'bite the hand that feeds him' and says nothing other than, "There they art higher." Smiling "Though while I have many talents, I doest not believe I wouldst make a good hat. But oncest I have returned to my true form I shalt ride my trusty steed Ambrose."
Dorian 'Grey'
Ambrose seems to be looking at Leo with a heavy sigh (and a bit of amusement).
The "Three Girls and a Tree Fairy" continue to investigate the dank and dark underground. The air feels heavy the further they proceed, as if the air itself was being pull out of them. The sounds of loose rocks and other debris occasionally are scattered about by an errand foot, paw, or tail. It is nice to having those Dancing Lights leading the way....
The tunnel continues deeper underground, eventually opening into a large chamber. Patches of glowing blue fungus cling to the ceiling and provide dim light. You can just barely make out vast strands of webbing across the floor and walls of this cavern, stretching between stalactites like shimmering curtains.
Anyone trying to cross through the room without touching the webs must attempt an Acrobatics skill check to carefully balance on rocks and narrow ledges. The Difficulty Class of this check is 15.

"Now, where are the spiders..." she uttered aloud, but more to herself.
With all the giant webs, Ness wondered where the spider creators were hiding/lying in wait. As they carefully enter the thick webbing, Sansaárë takes her eyes off the path and trips and fumbles a bit forward causing the webbing to vibrate ever so much....
While Tannakin and Leo steps lightly and deftly about the webbing, they both can hear the unmistakable sounds of legs and chittering coming from the darkness!

So, there once was 3 ladies and a fairy investigating some underground tunnels, looking for the Menace of Otari! Well, then they bothered a giant spider who watches (lots of eyes and all) one of them yell at it Failed and stride on only 2 legs (can you imagine only having 2 legs) across its properly webbed lair.
And I just straightened it up for company!
The giant spider also watches another of them interlopers crosses (again only 2 legs!) its nicely layered webbing!
Son of an egg sack!
The giant spider watches 2 more of them 2 legged menaces see what I did ther just standing there also looking at it (with only 2 eyes?).
This s+!* is crazy! Who are these people running around destroying my web rugs and tracking mud all over!
The giant spider begins to think that this is just intolerable!
Who gets her attention? 1=Sansaárë 2=Tannakin 3=Nyswyn 4=Leo: 1d4 ⇒ 4
The giant spider then ◆Strides closer to Leo!
The giant spider decides that the tall one in the back seems likely to be the cause of this disruption in her daily life!
She decides to use Leo as a new lamp post!
◆Ranged Web: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Web Trap A creature hit by the hunting spider’s web attack is immobilized and stuck to the nearest surface until it Escapes (DC 17).
The giant spider then ◆Strides closer to her new lamp post!
Ness and Leo are up for Round 1.

Round 1
◆ Ness raised her shield in order to protect herself against the nearby spider. AC is 17 for a round.
Seeing Leo entangled in the sticky web, Ness began to cast, wishing to slow down the creature and give Leo a chance to get himself out of the web. Ness began to gesture - creating a magical connection before speaking her words of power in Sylvan. A vine covered in sticky sap appeared and flicking her hand, Ness tried to lash it to/around the spider.
◆◆Spell Attack with Tanglefoot: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 (If immobilised, Spell DC 17 to attempt an Escape.)

Leialoha of the Sugalo
2nd attempt would take a -5(-4) penalty and a 3rd would take -10(-8) penalty.
'Crap, it's coming towards us, I don't want to be spider food.' Realizing the spider was coming towards him, Leo starts to move forward and is struck by the spider's web. Clawing at the webs he starts to panic as he releases his hold on the dancing lights. "Aaaaaghhhhhhh Help me Ambrose!"
◆Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
◆Athletics: 1d20 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 5 = 15
◆Athletics: 1d20 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 10 = 4
Tannakin Skinker
[dice=◆◆Spell Attack with Tanglefoot]1d20+7 (If immobilised, Spell DC 17 to attempt an Escape.)
"Hit it in the... legs!"
Tannakin gives +1 to that shot via aid via One for All! Wish I could give it to Leo, but I designated Ness...

Round 1
The lights went out! The sounds of angry chitters accompanied by the tearing of vines course through the moist air.
The straining and pulling coming from Leo doesn't sound effective!
All Fails unfortunately!
Ness tosses a primal vine to attached itself to the now stuck giant spider's leg(s)!
She doesn't seem happy!
◆Escape DC 17: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
She then attempts to bite Leo twice!
◆Bite: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 5 = 111d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Piercing
◆Bite: 1d20 + 9 - 10 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 10 = 191d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Piercing
CRIT! 16 damage and Giant Spider Vemon (poison) A target damaged by the spider’s fangs must succeed at a DC 16 Fortitude save or take 1d12 poison damage and gain the flat-footed condition for 1 round
If Fail Poison damage: 1d12 ⇒ 1
Ouch!
Tannakin and Sansaárë are up for Round 2!
Tannakin Skinker
"Sorry Ness! Sorry spider!"
Tannakin, reinforced by the panache she gained by advising Ness to go for the many legs, is extra quick on her feet.
+5 move speed
◆ Stride 30 to the spider.
I'm heading to the one space where I can attack within 30 of my starting position, but it's half wall, so, I hope that's alright! If not, take another ◆ from me and ignore the tumble below.
First time using this! I should have panache from my One for All to Ness, so I think that adds 2d6 to my stab. Add an additional d8 for my rapier's Deadly if I somehow critted/the monster's AC is super low and I'm flanking with Leo etc. etc.!
Confident Finisher, add +2 if Leo isn't unconscious/can flank: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: normal plus precision: 1d6 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (3, 4) = 14
Lose first panache (well worth it)... but!
If my 30ft move worked out above and I have another action:
◆ Tumble Through the spider to stand next to Leo.
Acrobatics vs Spider Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
...if that worked, regain panache!
Whoever wrote the 2e swashbuckler: thank you. Even if this isn't really happening/I didn't have the move speed, this is fun and will be fun when I can do it for realzies!
IF I managed to pull off that tumble through a spider:
"Hey Airi! Why don't you take one of those cheap shots you take so we can put Ms. Spider to bed and pull Leo out of his cocoon?
Not aiding, just bantering...
