Delta - Zelen companion
|
Delta will then stride into the square next to both south skeletons, and then slam twice!
First slam Bludgeoning: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 191d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Second slam Bludgeoning: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 91d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Will attack the first skeleton twice if not dead after the first hit, or the other skeleton if it is

Watson Dalimar Butheby

Watson looks at how the undead are spread out and gets an idea - for him, a very dangerous proposition!
"Hope I'm not going to regret this!"
He strides (◆) forward next to Delta, then unleashes a Dazzling Flash of light in a 15-foot cone! (purple cone on map) (◆◆)

Anything over 20ft away has the concealed condition, which means you need to succeed at a DC 5 flat check to target to target them.
Zelen Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Zelen's shot hits the zombie, causing it to grunt loudly. As Delta rushes up, the momentum from his movement gives him the power to hit one, and then a second skeleton, his bludegoning damage taking them both to the ground.
Nic Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Nic's first shot the towering brute, striking it directly in the eye, piercing it cleanly through, so that it lodges in their skull, staying just sticking out. The zombie flails to try and make it fall, causing Nic's second arrow to whiz past.
As Watson approaches, the zombie continues roaring and flailing. Catching it as it looks towards him, the flash that Watson unleashes catches its eyes, leaving glittering sparkles behind in the fog.
The blue zombie rambles forward, then swings it scimitar towards Gnavy, the momentum then taking it towards Ulvard. However, even with the momentum from their approach, they miss with both swings.
Scimitar attack 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Scimitar attack 2: 1d20 + 6 - 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 5 + 1 + 1 = 10
The yellow zombie shambles itself in front of Ulvard, its bones rattling as it swings it scimitar, first towards Ulvard and then at Gnavvy, missing both just like its predecessor.
Scimitar attack 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Scimitar attack 2: 1d20 + 6 - 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 5 + 1 + 1 = 5

Ulvard, faced with a target rich environment, roars out his challenge!
"ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
His greatsword swings out, trying to take a piece out of the blue zombie first.
attack, magic weapon: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 1 = 21
damage(slashing, positive, magic), rage, magic weapon: 1d10 + 4 + 3 + 1d10 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 3 + (10) = 20

Ulvard

Well, skeletons or not, he'll be going for the undead next to him. Looking at the tracker, yeap you are right. Must be the fog messing with his vision. With the damage being positive from his spirit instinct, it shouldn't matter heaps whether zombie or skeleton.
Gnavy
|
Gnavy looks at Urvald knowing that he can also play that game
"ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" yells orc running past Ulvard towards the Zombie.
However, his rage is faked. He charges at the zombie, but slows down before impacting, he ducks to his right and begins circling the creature stabbing it with his spear
Spear@Zombie: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage, piercing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
He stabs it once and then raises his shield,
Sudden charge, raise a shield. Will shield block next hit that strikes Gnavy

Jinlong dashes forward to get within 20' of the large Zombie.
"Abadar take you!" the little dragon roars (or tries to) before firing his crossbow at the zombie.

As Gnavy ducks to the side, his spear pierces into the zombie's peeling flesh, clearly hurting it from the roar it makes.

Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
With the pain of the spear it's most recent memory, the zombie spins towards the direction he felt it come from, swinging. He manages to strike Gnavy, despite his raised shield, shoving him backwards as he pummels into Gnavy. Swinging again towards him, he manages to hit a second time, shoving him back another five feet.

"GRRAWWWWWWWWWWWW" roars Ulvard, in obvious approval of Gnavy's linguistic accomplishments.
He dashes forward, greatsword trailing small whisps of magical light. A close looks at them might reveal ghostly faces smiling at the barbarian.
Once within the range of the zombie, he slashes out at it.

Zelen will spend 2 actions to command delta, who moves behind the large zombie.
Delta then slams and bites into the creature!

Watson Dalimar Butheby

Watson can barely see Gnavy in the mist (exactly 20ft so no concealment), and will reach out with his healing fondue font:
2-Action Heal: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
He will then cast Guidance (1-Action) on his barbarian friend Ulvard (+1 status bonus to one attack, save, or skill this round, hopefully helping one of those swings?)
Ulvard
|
I'd likely have used it on the first swing to increase the chance of a crit. Ulvard is not about subtle and calculating odds. Power Overwhelming!
Gnavy
|
Gnavy blocks the first blow, his steel shield getting a massive dent. First hit -13 would be reduced to -8 due to Steel shield: Hardness 5, BT 10. Shield -8, Gnavy -8. Then second blow Gnavy -16, Watson healing -4
Gnavy feels the blood leaking, and is equally surprised to feel his wounds heal rather quickly when Watson casts a spell.
Gnavy runs again towards the zombie and stops next to delta.
He again stabs his spear
Stab@Zombie flanked: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage, piercing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Then he raises his shield.

Nic's arrow pierces through the brute, causing him to stumble and roar as the arrow goes cleanly through his arm. Delta and Zelen simultaneously attack as he is stumbling, his misstep causing them to miss with their attacks. As Watson goes to guide Ulvard, his greatsword swings true, first slicing off the zombie's arm, and then cleanly chopping off his head.
With that, the immediate threat is over. However, the passengers of the caravan are more antsy than before, and even Arek and Andri seem shaken. Arek looks to you, speaking in a quiet voice, "I think we need to get moving before anyone else comes after us." He then echoes a similar sentiment to the others, moving to quickly gather up the camping supplies and load the wagons. Others move to join him as they shake off their shock, and the camp is broken down much faster than the previous morning.
Once the caravan is packed, the group is able to leave, heading out into the fog. Though the fog remains heavy throughout the morning, the sounds of the forest quiet, and nothing more than the occasional chirping of a bird is heard.
Right before lunch, the caravan enters the bustling town of Caliphas. Once they reach the marketplace, the Graghol's pull the wagons off to the side, and Arek begins to unload. Andri comes over to you, thanking you profusely for your help, admitting clearly that they would not have survived the trip without you. She then pays you each your reward of four gold, and bids you farewell as she goes to help her brother with the wagons.
With that, you have survived your travels on the Tireless Path!
