Would make you an awesome debuffer, and I believe you could arcane strike with it. BUT a DC17 to resist the damage/drain is pretty low for the foes we will face.

Looking more closely at that staff, Nyx has the healing covered. I'd need to drop a level 3 spell and grab Remove Blindness for us to be fully covered but everything else is covered in spaces. So, if our GM is ok I recommend selling, or not buying the staff. I was sorta remembering that we found it. no?

The problem with the rod (as I read it) is the rather low Fort Save of 17 to avoid all that nice STR and CON dmg. However, Farrar's dirge of doom would impose a -2 to all enemies' saves (which makes the rod more badass, with an effect Fort save of 19).

I'm sure Akku could pile on the debuffs on any of Farrar's target as well (via Bestow Curse or Disfiguring Touch, etc.)

So this could become quite a potent combo. Noted, if wouldn't work on undead or construct, but anything else would be having a bad day, with the correct conditions in place.

Let me know your decision Farrar; once I know it, I will proceed with updating the loot sheet with the 'pre-shopping' gold availability.

No, Akku found it as an available item at the market. If the GM is ok with us having never bought it, I will update. I think we originally found it a suitable backup in case you wouldn't be available, as you were off sick or on vacation at some point last year. I can't remember 100%...

3. spent 12k on Siiska and 4K on Akku, but they'll need no more updates until the end of the game and will no longer take a treasure share going forward...
4. Gal, Leon and Nyx each have 12K to spend (there's 36K left in cash)

Working on not failing saving throws (again) Nyx upgrades his cloak of resistance to +3 and buys a belt of Dex +2, That leaves him exactly 3k that he will use to buy a lesser metamagic rod of extend. Note that these things are so handy we could use two of them...

PS: level up in progress - 1) Siiska will now be in her full incorporeal manifestation (instead of her ectoplasmic one) since she can now permanently fly in incorporeal mode; 2) Akku can now permanently see, hear, smell, etc. through her senses (not just 1 round per level per day), gainst skill focus with two skills and can shunt failed Will saves into Siiska even when she's manifested; 3) Akku's 4th levels spells are: a) black tentacles; and b) shadow conjuration (the latter can replicate any wizard conjuration spell of 3rd level or lower I think, so we may have a bit more versatility going fwd.) ---> lots of moving pieces as I plan to have both of Siiska's modes statted from now on, but I should be done late tonight...

Yep, level 8-10! I haven't forgotten about them... but I haven't had a day off in, what, 9 days now? I have Friday AND Saturday off so I'll catch up on some stuff then.

Feel free to roleplay a bit - your adventure to Ancestor Isle, what you see there, how you plan on taking on the Reborn.

From what you understand, the Forsaken Fane is the headquarters of the Reborn so the masterminds behind them will likely be here. It's gonna be fortified and hard to get through with plenty of guards and perhaps some traps.

Leon's revised purchases will be a Pearl of Power II (to help get a Barkskin) and improving his cloak to Cloak of Resistance +3 (from a +1 version, so 8k for that).

Better saves probably won't help long-term vs the corruption, but we don't need another Confusion incident if it can be helped. That's a flat 12k.

There probably isn't too much of a choice. Should we make some Stealth checks? How much Invisibility do we have available for those without good Stealth?

I'm confused by Farrar's suggestion. Killing the commandos and taking their uniforms makes some sense. We'd cause a ruckus in the village, but that might be better than assaulting the castle head on. I don't see why a prisoner angle would come into it though.

Convincing the guards to bring us in as prisoners sounds like a really foolish idea, unless I'm missing something that was packed into innuendo.

How many of us are bad at stealth? I think that number was low but nonzero when we started, though we've had at least one replacement since then.

If we did try to tunnel in from the back, what would the distance be?

Ah, I was suggesting maybe we charm person one and have him bring us in? I don't see a good way to frontally assault, and it doesn't seem like there's a backdoor or way around the gate.

Okay, so with 6 in the grouping Farrar can Fascinate up to 4 of them, and then drop a charm person on the 5th through Spellsong. The issue gets to be the 6th. Do we try the fascinate/charm and some invisble/sneaky way of dealing with the 6th? A slumber hex from invisibility could ko the last one and then have the charmed one bring us in? Thoughts?

First try skills. All of us should appear unarmed, friendly and non-threatening.

If that doesn't work, fascinate the officers which allows for built-in suggestion. The men will take orders from the officers. If any cause problems then you drop charm on those via Spellsong.

1. so if I understand correctly the owb visibly took dmg from Siiska then t-ported away?
2. request: do you mind color-coding the enemies? my aging brain gets confused when it must decide to target guards, tower guards or giants that are tower guards... lol

1) Yes, took damage from a few of you but had plenty of HP left. It cast a spell (defensively) and teleported away based on written tactics (i.e. he retreated after dropping to a certain HP threshold).

2) Green = tower guards. All are dark creepers (CR 2) and are up on the tower. They are all aiming ballistae at you (but you guys acted in a 'surprise round' so they didn't attack this round).

Blue = cave giants. They are also aiming ballistae at you. One is heavily damaged by Galadhan.

Red (in front of door, behind portcullis) = dark champions. CR 5.

Dark Champion description:

This gaunt humanoid’s body is entirely cased in black plate armor. Its open-faced helm reveals its pale skin and shallow, fleshy hollows where its eyes should be.

@GM: not that it matters because they all missed, but in the future whoever is shooting at the party needs to make the Will save to disbelieve the illusory fog cloud first. Even if they make the save, there's still a 20% chance the fog cloud works normally.

(if it works normally: completely obscures vision including darkvision and they cannot aim)


Yeah - I would've rolled if they even got close to hitting.... but the dice gods are against me it seems. Thank you for the reminder though.

@GM: so far I've been quite happy gaining the shadowbound manifestations on this character and unlocking them on the chronicle sheet for one of my PFS characters who straddle the line between good and evil... I don't recall having to make a save to resist the new manifestations though, in the case of Eerie Perception and Wretched Pain. Akku wants to gain the incorporeality manifestation and PDK (the player) also wants to unlock that good stuff on the chronicle sheet.

Q: what do I need to do 'in-game' to make this happen? voluntarily fail the save or is that save for something else and we'll gain incorporeality manifestation anyhow if we successfully save?

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed post. I've been working quite hard the last few weeks - basically work 7 days on, 1 day off, 7 days on, 1 day off. Been getting home around 10/11 most nights so haven't had the energy to post.

I'm about 80% done with a new post, but have to head in to work (or be late). Just wrapping up the encounter with the owbs (they are just giving backstory really). Please decide what to do next/where to go - east, north, or west.

I'm going to skip some of the smaller/less important battles (or we can just roleplay them out and not actually do combat).
