Hearing the introduction of their new team member, the goblin takes 3 mints, prior to bowing to the kobold.

"What? Oh...yes. You are very lucky to--hmm. Yes, well met." She gives Strong Jaw an appraising look, head tilted to the side. A friendly goblin, she thinks, intrigued by the idea. And one held in some regard by humans, at that. Interesting.
Essri's attention soon turns to the rest of the Endless Sky, and finally to Tino's Toughest. She herself is a small and curious looking thing, with dark crimson scales and yellow eyes that never stay fixated on one thing for long. She holds close to herself an enormous long rifle with an oddly curved stock, the weapon as tall as the kobold herself. She wears clothing with a truly outlandish number of pockets, each one bulging with tools, bullets, or other strange alchemical concoctions. One would think she'd be weighed down by all of it, but she seems to move around easily enough.

Tino’s Toughest have adventured together for many years and have likely honed their fighting tactics to complement one another’s strengths. Tino will do almost anything to defend his lifelong friend Takatorra as the two focus on a single target at a time. The concern with Ji-Yook is her ability to be attacking back-row combatants like archers and spellcasters. Yabin, clearly a spontaneous caster, will keep his distance, using spells to confound opponents, control the arena, and enhance his allies’ abilities.
Almost all of the team’s gear appears to be augmented, but none of it is exceptional. With that said, all of the Tino's team's attacks will be magical, and all of their armor is as well.

"Strong Jaw," Essri whispers, gesturing for the bard to come closer. Once he does, she leans in and continues in a hissing whisper. "You are leader, yes? Essri knows of these fighters. The fox lady will try to bash Essri's head in, you should keep her busy."

Ryushi shrugs, he knew the big city was going to be weird, so he takes it all in stride. When they have privacy, he gives his thoughts.
Tino is a champion, I know well how they work, he will be Very hard to hit, but it is even worse to hit an ally of his when he is close. I say that Aaryn and I will stand toe to toe with Tino and Takatorra, but attack Tino. Takatorra is going to hurt us in the meanwhile but I have much healing I can provide to hopefully keep us up.
Strong Jaw, Zephyr if we can slow them down, especially Ji Yook and keep Yabin from casting spells then that would hamper them considerably. As well, since we know she is going to come for you three... if you have defensive magics that will make her regret it, then that would be a fine trap to spring. I say we focus on Tino and Yabin. They make their allies stronger.

"It would seem you are all ready to begin ... let me first present some of the rules to you. You will conduct this match exactly as though it took place on Bonmu."
She smiles, quite disarmingly
"Factually, it DOES take place, on Bonmu, not so far in our future. A great boon is given to you, for enhancing the Tournament here in Goka: this match is official, Tino's challange is accepted by the Council. Your wager is accepted: the council found no evidence that an agreement such as yours could not be made in this case, and there can be no penalty for the exchange of feathers when it happens. You must observe all of the other rules of the Island when you get there. This fight however, will be displaced in both time AND space: it really will be brought forward to Bonmu."
"Please enter the team rooms and prepare."
Kumiko indicates the same doorways that had already been present. One is now labeled Tino's Toughest, the room that Aaryn had been in shows Endless Sky

Ryushi, nods, takes a deep breath, checks his equipment, and walks in.

Okay ... please set your buffs and discuss tactics, either in or out of character. I will have a Rules of the Island post for you today, I will have notes on Ryushi's ring today, and I will explain how Zephyr will work as an APC later today as well.
and yes, I think I either invented or at least branded this concept: we have player characters, we have non-player characters, and I finally came up with what Zephyr is - an All-Player Character.

Strong Jaw finishes his introductory song. The goblin then frowns. The Bard casts Bullhorn.

The goblin then begins to saunter into the area, but, just prior to entering he cast Heroism on himself....
Entering the loud area, Strong Jaw immediately begins to jump, somersault, back-flip, and wave and applaud back at them!

Jumping up onto a scenic (but fake) boulder, the goblin bard bows to the crowd while breaking out into song!

For THIS fight, I think we should stick with the 38; for the upcoming fights, if you want to define an diplo-based opening (kinda like StrongJaw): proclainations & prayers & greetings and stuff, I would probably go with it. Could even be as distracting as the goblin ...

What happens at Rainbow ... stays at Rainbow
A valuable lesson though, because someone is ALWAYS watching.
That is what this whole thing is about.
What happens at the club is not detectable or disceranable outside of the club ... but that does not mean that no one knows about it. There are potential sponsors at the club, and seeing this match is like a teaser for them, a special inside look created to generate even more interest in this year's games.
Which is important, because Bonmu is similarly protected. Although normal enchantments and divinations work on the island, they do not work to the outsie world and vice versa. So in principle, no one has any real knowledge of the teams competitively until the qualifier is over ... except if they are at the Rainbow this evening.
So tonight is not simply about ruthlessness, you can save that for the island. Tonight, aspects of your showmanship matter. Announcing yourselves with those spells, brilliant. Remember, young Zephyr's parents have been guides, and supporters, they are NOT your sponsors (and cannot be). You must earn the attention & desire of a native of Goku. For you, that starts tonight.
