Niko points to where she can barely see the abandoned campsites and says, "There was some sort of activity nearby, might could be bandits. We could reconnoiter but it may make more sense to get back to the capitol. What do you think?"

Pressing on, you reach the boundary of Scorpion lands. It took you not that much of time to reach the boundaries. The crab samurai salute you, wait until you cross over into Scorpion lands, then return to their Daimyo.
En route to the capitol, we stop by the Daimyo we had helped, maybe get some food and then travel further the next day.
Shoju approaches you, "We can provide you with some extra food for your journey."
Matsu Niko bows and thanks him for his hospitality.
Shoju orders some rice balls to be made. "Stay a while, it will take some time to get the rice balls made," he says.
Dai will nod and say, "Your offer is most kind.". He will then look to make himself comfortable for the time being.
Matsu Niko smiles at the offer and is more than willing to remain there until the food is ready.
It takes a few hours, but soon the cooks complete a selection of riceballs and fish.
"Thank you, we should continue on our path now." Dai says as he bows to the Daimyo.
"I hope these will keep you filled on the way to the Capital City," says Shoju.

You both are to go into Lion lands to see about a string of murders there. Someone is committing murder among the family of the Akodo. The clan magistrates are unable to stop it.
"I want you to go there and see what is happening," Satsume explains. "As Emerald Magistrates, you are representing the Emperor."

Akodo wrote the book on strategy. In Rokugan, the Akodo train the best generals at their Akodo War College. They are the leaders of the Lion. The present Daimyo, Akodo Toturi, is a sound strategist and is going to be married to Isawa Kaede of the Phoenix clan.
Matsu Niko says, "I have a cousin or two who are Akodo, my father was originally a Kitsu. We, Matsus, are structured matriarchially.
"Well, tomorrow might be enlightening. I believe I will find a place to relax for the night." Dai says.
"I agree, it should be interesting. See you in the morning."
She then goes to her quarters or to an inn.

"I believe we must attend a briefing first, but if you have received the information I am ready to go." Dai says in reply.
An attendant meets with you two. "I have orders to brief you two on your excursion into Lion lands," he says. "If you will just step inside my office, we will begin."
Dai nods and follows the attendant in.
The office has a low desk, at least five cushions, some cabinets, a small cup strategically situated that has burning incense. He also has a brush, and a bowl of ink, and rice paper for doing calligraphy. The sun lights the place, but there are a few places where candles can be lit. The walls are made of dyed rice paper. Dyed in the colors of the Emerald Champion.
"Sit down opposite me, and we shall begin," he says.
