Strek is curious who the recipient is, too, and uses his newly acquired Library Chip to Auto-Aid Akh's search.

Melissas whiskers twitch as she Sniff sniffs "Strek" for signs of pickles

"That would be pushing our luck a LOT further than it generally goes. "

Step 1) the worst part of this plan. Make sure it is just rotten fish (thank you, saranrae, for armor seals...) and the container itself is just regular plain old space metal. Dig through, make sure it isn't a bomb, or a bomb in the middle of the fish, or fish that have eaten exploding nanites. or fish infected with scalepox, or a pile of alien face huggers, or fish skitters/vesk are deathly alergic to or...... to be fair you're not paranoid when the universe IS out to get you.

Step 2 Rig BOOM. We want it to explode safely. IE up. Should probably be a spring launcher like a circus cannon rather than like, space C4.

Should probably have a camera and a manual trigger so that it doesn't accidentally go off when the skittermanders climb on top of it to "help" unpack it.

Whats the gravity on vesk 3? We can time the fish to land at the end of the song...

Step 3 We'll overclock a Holographic Sashimo to deliver the message.

Step 4: Would we be safe flying low off the radar with a messed up transponder to not look like us or should we fake an ID and rent a ship for the very last part?

"Del are you sure this fish can't hop to an alternate reality where it is a bomb? How about this one? You Ok you look a little blue around the gills.... "

Akh and Strek look up the address the dragonkin gives you while the rest of the group haggles with the man. It's the palace of Ser Rodrik Mopatis, a warlord on Vesk-2 who rules over a chunk of the southern continent. His region is known for their technology and food exports. A loud crash comes from the front of the bodega as you finish up your research and conversation. The dragonkin hands you a contract, which you sign. He smiles, viciously. "Excellent. Here's the coordinates for the pickup point. Good luck." He tosses you a credstick with seven numbers written on it, the a set of orbital coordinates. Expecting a nearby pickup, rather than one in space, you look up in surprise to see the dragonkin injecting himself with a spell ampoule! Before your eyes, he disappears! Do you want to attempt to catch the invisible dragonkin to press him for information? Or are you ok to let him go?

You type the coordinates into your datapads and it points to a rather sparse section of the Diaspora. No major asteroids float nearby, it's just an empty section of space - not close to any major settlement. Just then you get a ping from your datapads. A spheremail just arrived in each of your personal inboxes, from a company focused on anonymity for their clients. The message reads "Thank you for your services, BULLSEYE SHIPPING, LLC. Here is a copy of the binding contract you signed." The contract is attached. You take a second look at the contract; it's nothing out of the ordinary for a shipping agreement, though you do notice the penalties for failure to deliver are a little harsh. Excerpt: If CONTRACTOR is within the legal boundaries of the Drakelands, they will be subject to the highest punishment allowed by law. Including, but not limited to, flaying, burning, and staking for 24 hours. As is custom in the Drakelands, CONTRACTOR will be kept alive through and after the punishment, to live with their failure. I mean... you could run with the 4500 credit downpayment. Why not add "Vicious anonymous Dragon CEO" to your Hostile list! lol. What do you think?

"Hey, uhh.." Strek awkwardly asks the invisible Dragonkin while the bodega employees begin cleaning up the broken glass around them, "Sounds like you know this guy pretty well. Either way it makes for a better excuse for our intentions. We didn't know the delivery was a prank! The cake contained a fishy stripper and only their spawn (the fish) survived! Maybe we can concoct a quasi-real mermaid body to throw in there with the fish! Jaraduk seems too into the idea.

Phew, this is cracking me up. I don't know where I thought this mission was going, but definitely not here!

Despite Strek's very useful question... the invisible dragonkin does not answer. The group heads back to the ship, discussing the best ways to utilize disguises and holographics to distract a potentially angry vesk warlord. As you arrive, the triaxian nuts are finished loading. You settle in and Del flies the Last Chance up and out of the planet's atmosphere.

1d6 ⇒ 3

A few days later, you pop out of the drift to the location set by the dragon's coordinates. Looking out the viewscreens, you are puzzled. There's just... nothing. Small asteroids and rocky debris slowly float by. You scan the area... I'm going to assume Melissa will hit a DC 22 Computers check eventually... and see an object just at the end of your scanning range! Del navigates over to it and you pull up images of an old derelict ship, leisurely on the move away from the jump point. As you pull up alongside it, you can see that it’s clearly a wreck. The hull is marred by long gashes and scorch marks that resemble some kind of angular script.

DC 22 Culture check or fluency in Infernal:

You recognize the marking as the devilish Infernal language, though it seems to spell out nothing more than general paeans to Hell.

The ship's twin cargo holds appear intact, though the engines are in serious disrepair. There is a faded print of the ship's name on the exterior, The Final Endeavor.

Engineering, DC 22 or Culture, DC 27:

This model of ship is several versions old. It hasn't been produced in at least 20 years. You vaguely remember the layout of the ship. You get a copy of the map!

Melissa's scans show that due to hundreds of microfractures, the ship cannot hold an artificial atmosphere. More oddly, the only airlock has melted into a solid slab, so there’s only one viable entry point: a jagged hole on the port side. Alrighty! Everybody want to go in? Any special comments or methods you want to use? If so, give me a Perception check.

lolol.

You can see Guess?'s "sketch" on Slide 1.

Looking at the map, Strek can see that this ship is larger than your own and has two conventional cargo holds. He assumes that the 50 tons of fish are in one of the two holds. You all look at the weapon loadout of the Last Chance, and don't see any weapons capable of breaching a ship's walls without seriously damaging the interior. I don't see any Breach weapons on your ship. You could just fire on their ship until you deal critical damage to the Life Support system, but who knows what other damage you could deal to the fishy cargo in the meantime.

hahaha I forgot about that!!

The group suits up and gathers their positivity towards this not-at-all cursed mission. Del pulls close to the vessel, near enough to to shoot over a cable. You pass over, and graffiti Bullseye Shipping LLC on the side. As you rest against the outside of the craft, your armor's external sensors translate vibrations in the hull into sounds from within the vessel’s walls. The groans and metallic scratches don't repeat themselves, instead rising and falling in volume.

DC 21 Perception check:

You determine that these noises aren’t the result of anything natural, like the ship continuing to break apart. Instead they are definitely something unnatural, that doesn't belong in a vessel.

Strek and Melissa check out the cable's attachment on the wrecked ship and shake their heads. This line won't hold up to a drift jump. You could tow it going sub-light speed but that would take ages to travel between systems. Your best luck of transporting the ship itself is to repair it's drift drive and fly it to the destination. (That or buy a ship large enough to carry the wreck into it's hold!) You travel around the port side of the craft, to peek into the jagged hole. It blows right through a pair of living quarters, the contents long gone due to explosive decompression. Looking into the hole, you see into an empty ship corridor. According to Guess?'s sketch, the ship's bridge is on your left. The corridor continues forward towards the crew quarters and engineering before it turns towards the twin cargo holds. Alright, choose your poison. Bridge, Engineering, Crew Quarters, or Cargo Holds!

Eyeing the starship, Del groans loudly. "What the heck!? This was the good job, Guess?! This is a deathtrap! It's not even a disguised deathtrap! It's the most obvious deathtrap we could possibly walk into."

After firing the tow line she activates her arbors environmental protections and leaps outside the starship, golden energy wings suddenly appearing on her back. She flies over to the entrance and peers inside, then enters the deathtrap alongside her pals. She peeks her head into the two narrow doors by their entrance, deciding neither are really meant for someone her size, then loiters in the hall where she's got room enough to stand.

As the others debate the way to go first, Del shrugs. "Fixing a Drift engine takes time. We'll have to explore the whole starship before we make repairs anyway, right? I vote Bridge. There might be information in the logs there."

You take the leftmost corridor, heading to the bridge. Akh cracks open the door, silent in the vacuum. This is clearly the bridge, or at least it used to be. Most of the ship’s controls are smashed beyond repair or recognition. Gouges line the walls, the crew chairs are ripped apart, and strange symbols are written in flaking crimson across the floor. The ship's computers sit against the wall, highly damaged. The far wall is made of actual

Not quite able to squeeze her way down the hall with all her friends piled in it, or to see this mysterious Victor fellow, Del casts her mind out into other worlds to contemplate what she'd like most right about now—a steaming cup of tea. She tugs on the thought, pulling it into reality. Suddenly, the area she can see at the back of the bridge becomes filled with boiling hot water.

Using infinite worlds to create a second level environmental hazard at the back of the room (as marked; it hurts V.I.C.T.O.R. right now). This area is in boiling water that deals 2 fire damage each round (DC 16 Fortitude save reduces the damage by half. A creature attempts this save when it first takes damage from this effect, and its result applies for the duration of the effect). This effect lasts for 4 rounds.

Jaraduk tosses a grenade into the bridge, covering the floor, and walls, with sticky webbing. Del follows up by bringing in boiling water to fill the area. What a great combo! And no save on the web grenade is NICE. Guess?'s shot hits the robot in the center mass, sending parts flying to float around the room.

Fortitude, DC 16: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

The boiling water licks at the bottom of the robot's feet, and it barely reacts. Strek recognizes the robot as a guardian robot. Built for protection, these robots have become something of a status symbol among business leaders and politicians. Most guardian robots are crafted to appear as unassuming humanoids of a certain species and usually have a quiet and deferential virtual intelligence. They constantly scan for potential nearby threats and endeavor to stay close to their handlers, engaging opponents from a distance using grenades or weighted nets. He knows that the robot has typical construct immunities, weapons that are integrated into its body, and nanites which will slowly repair it over time. Nanite Repair (Ex): A guardian robot’s nanites heal it, restoring a number of Hit Points per hour equal to its CR. Once per day as a full action, the robot can restore 3d8 Hit Points to itself or any touched construct with the technological subtype. Additionally, Melissa notices the robot's exposed circuits, making it vulnerable to critical hits and electricity.

Eager to get out of the boiling tea at its feet, the robot struggles through the webbing towards safety. Triggering an AoO because difficult terrain denies his guarded step!! Akh pops right out of the net in time to swipe at the robot's chest. As the robot moves, it continues to broadcast. "Custodian and Tireless..." It turns at the waist with jerky movements and fires its electric blast at Guess?. Then, the robot turns to Melissa, single red eye staring intently. "Melissa, I accept your surrender. The captain will come along shortly." To the ysoki's trained eye, it appears this robot was seriously damaged by the devils that attacked the ship. It's nanites may have put it's casing back together but the logic systems are definitely misfiring. It seems to be working for the ship's captain, and has orders to protect the ship bridge.
