Talked about possibly retraining this character, but I decided to stick with it. Hopefully, I'll develop more of an actual character for this PC rather than just mechanics.
Having Divine Favor and Shield of Faith is pretty nice, but I don't get the Warpriest quicken on them so it is rough to use in combat. This issue is especially true when I need to Mage Armor up to have a decent AC.

So Risky Striker stacks with Power Attack? Interesting ...
As a TWF, I'm not sure how much mileage power attack will really give, but tales will be woven for the time they're stacked with a crit...

Hey People!
I have a VTT game starting in about 14 hours from the time of this post. (My first time on Foundry :)
Aldar and Ferdrin are giving me material to work with in Gameplay, so if you are interested in getting in on the action with the Seeker Briefers, time to make your move!
TL/DR: Looking to move us forward in about 20 hours time.
(It's safe to say I'm a fan of this scenario, and hope you enjoy it! ;)

Hello everyone, I will bring my halfling Xiao Katsu.

So team, I need to inform you all about mechanical stuff related to Xiao that affects all of you!

MISFORTUNE revelation - REROLLING ANY d20 ROLL BEFORE KNOWING THE RESULT
Misfortune (Ex): At 1st level, as an immediate action, you can force a creature within 30 feet to reroll any one d20 roll that it has just made before the results of the roll are revealed. The creature must take the result of the reroll, even if it’s worse than the original roll. Once a creature has suffered from your misfortune, it cannot be the target of this revelation again for 1 day.
The trickiest thing for everyone to keep track of in a PbP format is his Misfortune revelation. Basically, he can require anyone (including allies) to reroll a d20 once/day.
Caveats: it uses his immediate action (so it's not available when he's still flatfooted) and it has a 30' range limitation.
This means that
a) I can use it on you once/day per person;
b) but I can only use it once/round (since it uses my immediate);
c) so as an ally try to stay within 30' of Xiao if possible.
To my fellow players: In a PbP format, I think the best way to handle this is for you each to decide for yourselves if you want to use the ability and just be sure that someone else hasn't already used my immediate previously that round.
To the GM: With regard to foes, I'm fine with the GM reflecting the misfortune hex against a foe, using the following priorities:
- Enemy attack rolls: If a foe threatens a crit against an player that has only 20 hp left then Xiao will immediate action misfortune the initial attack roll.
- Enemy saving throws: When they have to make a save and have rolled 13 or better on the d20 roll then Xiao will immediate action misfortune the save roll.
---
SAVING FINALE - REROLLING A FAILED SAVING THROWS
To fellow players: Saving Finale is a spell I can only use when I have a performance active but if you have already used Misfortune on yourself and fail a saving throw then this could help.
Caveats:
a) you must be within 30';
b) this also uses my immediate action, so it might not be available if I've already used it for Misfortune;
c) this depends on me having Bardic Performance up, which I will normally do.
d) In the case of Saving Finale, you can actually wait to see whether or not you failed (as opposed to Misfortune, where you only see the die roll, not the result), so this is a very handy bailout.

I hope this was understandable! :-)
Thanks to GM Abraham from whom I copied major portions of the text above as he is also using Misfortune with one of his characters.

Let’s talk sub-tier, Pathfinders!
We have two x Level 3s, three x Level 4s, and one Level 5.
Super Duper APL calculator: 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 5 = 23/6 = 3.83
The nearest integer to 3.83 is 4.
So we are firmly in low (3-4) sub-tier with 6 players.

Could I also get anyone who hasn’t, to please put your token in the marching order slide?
You probably don’t want me doing that for you ;)

Just so nobody is surprised when it comes up …
I am going to provide Faction Missions for this adventure! This is because at least one of them may provide useful background for the PCs. (Also, I ♥ factions!)
Please note, there is NO OBLIGATION to complete the faction missions to gain the full rewards for this scenario.
Questions? Just ask me here or send me a PM.

Wasn't planning on critting the guy, just wanted to check if it was a devil or demon since we know a ritual involving the summoning of them was the crux of this story.
Is your flag for Flagbearer bearing the Pathfinder Society symbol or something else? I have a mini I painted a while back that used that feat with a flag that said: "Explore, Report, Cooperate."
Xiao Katsu
|
Haha! Yes, the flag has the symbol of the open road on it! :-)

I’m just gonna spell out my understanding of all the bard/cleric bonuses to attack and damage, to make sure I get it right.
Bless gives a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls
Flagbearer gives a +1 morale bonus to attack + damage rolls
(ie bless and Flagbearer DON’T stack)
Guidance gives a +1 competence bonus to the target’s next d20 roll
Inspire Courage gives +1 competence bonus to attack + damage rolls
(ie guidance and inspire courage DON’T stack)
So the nett effects of Raelene + Xiao Junior’s bonuses to melee this round are +2 to attack AND damage.
If you think I have this wrong, please let me know.
Raelene
|
That looks right. The Bless is extraneous with Flagbearer available.
Raelene
|
Notes next to Cade in combat order regarding Guidance are incorrect as it is not the next d20 and it would not stack with IC from the bard.
Guidance
Level 0
School divination / void elemental
Casting Time 1 action
Components V, S
Range touch
Target Creature touched
Duration 1 minute or until discharged
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance Yes
Caster Level 4
Vs. SR 4
Concentration Check 7
Cast Defensively +7 vs. DC 15
This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance. The creature gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.
As I indicated when I cast it - may be useful if a save is needed during combat.

[dice=Hydraulic Push/bull rush vs CMD]1d20+8 I am actually attempting to knock it over. The wording implies that is automatic but I wasn't sure so I included the bull rush attempt. If I can do both, push it back and knock it over, that is even better.
On first blush, being able to both Bull Rush and Trip a creature from range with what is normally a first level spell seems overpowered to me.
I looked at two threads on the Paizo boards discussing this issue >here< and >here<
In both threads, the majority of posters have the same doubts I have (seems almost unanimous)
Because there is only rules support for the Bull Rush attempt and NOT a trip attempt, they conclude the “You call forth a quick blast of water that knocks OVER” should read “You call forth a quick blast of water that knocks BACK”
As such, I am going to rule Raelene is able to Bull Rush the devil, but NOT make a trip attempt.
@Raelene, If you want to redo your turn as a result of this, no worries.
If anyone can direct me to a FAQ, errata or the like to support a different point of view, feel free.

The first line in spells is very frequently flavor text, and I don't think this is any different. It says "knocks over," but then it describes the actual mechanics of the spell, which at no point mentions tripping or prone.
There are some 1st level trip/prone spells, but I don't think Cleric gets any other than command.
Stumble Gap is probably one of the best 1st level spells in the game. Unfortunately, it is pretty exclusive to the Sorcerer/Wizard list.
Raelene
|
I'm good with it as it is.
I had my own extreme doubts and was fine making the bull rush instead of knocking them down. Part of my doubts came from the wording and part from PF2 brain. I certainly didn't think it should do both but was happy to accept it as a great bonus if it did.
I still think it an appropriate reaction for Raelene.
Looking at how things are now - it looks too complex to retcon the devil's position. So, if it would have been successful, then I can have not done it and just moved out of the way.
I don't have strong feelings about this. I was looking for something potentially useful to do and within character.

How long has it been since we were dealing with the false-angel? Mage Armor still up?
After dealing with the devil, searching the townhouse, interrogating Gill and navigating the crowded streets of Eastgate, one level/one hour mage armor such as that which comes out of your typical wand has expired.

@Xiao Junior, don’t forget your Fort save vs deafness, which happens BEFORE your bardic performance, which appears to be Perform (oratory).
A deaf bard has a 20% chance to fail when attempting to use a bardic performance with an audible component. If he fails this check, the attempt still counts against his daily limit. Deaf creatures are immune to bardic performances with audible components.

Can you please let me know what it’s called?
Nope, I literally wasn't thinking for some reason (!!) So that does not succeed then as his UMB is +11 (but he can try again).

Did the thug evade all the splash damage from the first bomb with the successful Reflex save to halve?
No, but unless I missed something, I believe Yellow was healed back to full by Raelene's channel.
EDIT: After re-reading the post, Raelene does state she bars all thugs from her channel. (Not just those in the west, which is how I read it first time around).
So, I will add back Yellow's splash damage from last round, Brakkik.

More family drama in my life. My brother is back in hospital and will be airlifted down to Perth sometime soon.
I also have PAX Online this weekend.
I am hoping that neither of these things disrupt my gameplay but please feel free to bot me as needed.
