You recognize the tooth as belonging to most likely a large cat.
Due to that you get a bonus +1 to initiative

Hornbori:

You know that fresh earth or sand is often scattered on gladiatorial arenas to hide the blood or other gruesome remnants of a previous battle. You find some red stains on the ground beneath the fresh earth.

Hornbori deduce that the setup of the cages, arena, and the royal stand fits a typical execution of prisoners using wild beasts. Additionally, the royal stand is the best vantage point to observe the execution.

The PC gains a +2 circumstance bonus to their initiative roll in Event 3. Additionally, they gain a +1 circumstance bonus to their AC for the first round of combat.

Anjo:

You locate footprints of several humanoids, likely armored due to the depth of the tracks. The prints enter the arena but then change to deep drag marks that reverse course and lead back out of the grounds.

You get a +1 circumstance bonus to initiative

A soft but malicious voice spreads throughout the jousting grounds,
"I wonder what path lead you here, dear guests? A pack of mice looking to sniff around when the lion is out of the castle? Hah, I think not. Poor little mice, the mouse trap has sprung!"

The cage doors clang loudly against the iron spikes and chains as they clatter to the ground. A ferocious roar shakes the arena. You can see four wild cats standing in front of you. Two of the lions seem smaller and weaker than the other two

Mirtha moves closer to the orange lion and casts a charm spell on the creature.

Will Save DC 19. Since we haven't attacked it yet, it might not get that +4 bonus to the save. It is an incapacitation spell, so if its CR is higher than 2, it's save is automatically 1 degree better.

The Orange lion was showing its fangs, but then yawned and walked in a circle. As it was yawning Emdi saw that it had all of its teeth.

It stopped showing signs of aggression.

Orange Lion is not now Friendly. I will strike him out, you may now try to use Nature to ask it for something. But from what I see it being friendly does not mean that it will fight in your defense (unless you know some rules about it).

I think we mainly need to stop them from killing us. We can do non-lethal damage by taking a -2 penalty to hit, but lethal damage is easier.

Anjo recognizes the animals as Lions. He knows that they are especially effective while fighting in packs. When at least 3 of lions attack a target they do extra damage.

Anjo shots do not hit the lion. The targeted animal runs, the nearly 400-pound body full of packed muscles moves with grace which is a pleasure to admire. It jumps over the fence and with few quick moves jumps on small Mirtha biting her with jaws. Crit :( 28 points of damage

The other two lions attack together and jump at the armored dwarf. The first one closes its jaws at Hornbori arm spraying with blood the filed that you stand at. Nat 20 :( crit for 30

The other bites way weaker at the dwarf leg. 27 to hit for 6 damage

The wizardess will look into her bag to see for rations and will throw some at the scrawny lions to see if they will eat that.

She will then cast shiled on herself/


You all saw this fight was coming. On top of that Champion's reaction is supernatural so I would say yeah, you can use it.

Emdi's faith protects Hornbori from a portion of the damage and he takes a shot at the first lion hitting it. A hit, not a crit @red as he attacked first.

He wraps Mirtha with his magic healing and makes a shot at the wounded lion, but this time missing.

Seeing that Hornbori was hurt almost as much as her, Mirtha channels some divine energy and aims it at the dwarf.

The dwarves wounds become hot, then sizzle as they cauterize and stitch themselves together.

Summoning a Sarenrae shaped shield made of shimmering force, the beleaguered gnome fends off the vicious cat.

She will shield block the first attack that hits, absorbing 5 points of damage. The +1 circumstance bonus to AC should stack with the AC bonus from lay on hands.

Mirtha, you may want to consider making your condition of Shield Blocking to be the first hit that would deal more than 5 damage to you - Emdi's reaction may reduce a hit by enough that you'd want to save your shield.

Fair enough! Mirtha will trust that the noble paladin can keep her alive, and reserve blocking with her shield unless the damage is greater than five points. Whatever I can do to keep Mirtha on her feet after enduring another round of that lion's teeth and claws.

Yes, Hornbori will let his shield take the initial brunt of that attack.

So if Emmdi's reaction stops 5 damage, the lion did 25 damage. The shield absorbs 5 and then both it and Hornbori take 20. That destroys the shield.

Shocked at the sudden destruction of his shield, Hornbori shifts to a two-handed grip and attacks!

The battle axe isn't a two-handed weapon. It's just for flavor.

The elf begins to concentrate andfocusing on the lion attacking the gnome a stick vine emerges from her outstreched hand emerges and triest to capture the lion, or at least slow it down

Anjo sends three arrows at the lion close to Mirtha hitting it twice.

Mirtha heals Hornbori and uses her magic to protect herself.

Hornbori throws away the broken shield and keeps swinging with his ax, hitting once.

Avonatha throws a tanglefoot bag but misses, then she also protects herself with magic.

One of the lions moves to a better position, Provokes AOO from Hornbori, and attacks twice. Biting the dwarf in his leg. 1 hit for 10 damage

The other lion moves closer to Mirtha and also attacks the dwarf. First time missing the other hitting with his paw. 7 damage

The third lion moves to flank Mirtha and attacks twice. Hitting only once. 7 points of damage.

Then behind Avonatha a new opponent shows up and attacks her with his kukri. He is a pale, middle-aged Taldan man with a gloomy countenance and dark clothing that looks practical but expensive. His blade dig into the elf flesh. Hit for 8 points

Emdi responds by protecting Hornbori and hitting the lion with an arrow. Crit vs green for 7

When the man appears on the field, Anjo cries, "Avona, there is your target!"

Mirtha takes advantage of Emdi screening her movement and retreats from between the two cats. Away from the cats, she casts a sanctuary spell on herself to hopefully keep the enemies from attacking her further.

Feeling the strike of the dagger as it whishes to her, she is able to place her shield inbetween the dagger and her flesh, though not enough that to does go through a bit.

Turning around she sees the human male, dagger in hand. With a few arcane gestures and magical words, she calls upon magic she has already used [drain bonded item] and resummons Rappy to attack the vile human.

Mirtha sends some healing energy towards Emdi and the gentle flames begin to stitch his wounds back together. Then she whispers a few words in Hornbori's direction, commanding the dwarf to not back down from this fight. The dwarf hears a raspy voice whisper in ear, drawing attention to how Archis drops his guard just before attacking and pointing out that the lion is favoring it's unwounded paw.

Hornbori gets a +1 status bonus to attack and skill rolls while attacking and a -1 penalty to the same rolls if he does something different. So if you want to do something different, like use Battlefield Medicine, just resist the effect since you have to be a willing target.

Hey Hornbori is back!

Anjo release arrows... first one hits the lion with great strength. Crit 28 points of damage.

Second hits it again. Hit 5 points of damage still standing The other two arrows flies over the target and hit the ground.

Mirtha heals Emdi who is wrapped with healing magic and tries to make Hornbori do as she asks.

Avonatha sends two magic missiles at Archis who is also attacked by Rappi who hits one and once misses. 8+7 damage to Archis. Pending AOO from him to Rappy

@Avonatha - Minions get only 2 actions. So you should be making only two attacks with Rappy.

Emdi fires from his bow taking down the nearest lion. Hit and eliminated.
His second shot misses and he moves to provide flanking buddy to the dwarf.

Hornbori resists the diabolic edict (I assume as he did not use the modifier, althou with those rolls it changes nothing). With quick use of bandage and potions he patches Avonatha to be in tip top shape. Later he attacks the lion hitting it hard. Crit@ red 24 points damage..

But he misses second blow.

So reverting the champions reaction from last round. Avonatha gets 5 damage (which is healed by Hornbori), but red does not get 5 damage, which makes him standing.

Gm Screen:
