@Parrameleh, the stairs go further down. But before you move over there...something happens

As Andrelis moves in to the pond, he hears a rustling. One of the statues starts rumbling. The elf turns his head and sees the one in the northwest corner start to react to his presence.

This effigy depicts a tall human carved from marble with several serpents of dark stone coiled around their body. There are four in the room, but the other three seem to have crumbled through the ages. Only this one seems to have weathered time. And it does not look happy that you've invade this room.

GM Screen:

The statue simply gazes at Yuzu. A beam of crackling hellfire blasts her from afar! Her fur singes. (20 vs touch. 7 fire damage!)

Tuck no longer needs to do a Will save. If he had failed, he would have walked up to a rune, read it, and become fascinated. But now that the statue attacked, the fascinated would have ended. Theres some talk on the forums it was kinda pointless.

GM Screen:

Garaleth knows this is a kind of construct. As with most constructs, it has construct traits, immunity to fire, DR 2/- and SR 8. It also has incredible reach, perhaps from the snakes that are draped over it.

One of the snakes attempts to lash out at Andrelis as he approaches, but the elf is too quick and dodges out of the way. In retaliation, he stabs hard at the construct, but can't get past it's hard exterior.

Garaleth moves forward and tosses and blob of acid at it, but his blast just sizzles some vines in the room.

Yuzu then sees an opportunity! She steps up and slashes the statue! Chunks of it falls to the ground.

Then the shifter Parrameleh dashes forward to get into a better position for next round.

Sorry, got so caught up double checking that I had the right number for my spell combat rolls that I forgot to include those.

Andrelis moves up and slashes at it. One of his blows glances off the construct, but the other finds a crack and digs deep into it.

Yuzu angrily slashes at the construct as well, but just can't connect her attack!

Parrameleh steps up. It's her time to shine. At first, it doesn't seem like her claws did anything. But then she noticed: yes, yes it did! Solid blow to the effigy.

Kaseem channels the power of Ra. Both Yuzu and Parrameleh start to feel refreshed, their wounds slowly closing.

Tuck manages to get a hold of the construct, constricting the snake effigy.
