Jaakko Varpunen |
Isger is Jaakko's homeland and he is very interested adventuring there. I have a cleric and fighter if need to avoid going to high tier.
Demm tad-draguni |
I have Demm here, but I have plenty of level 2 character options if we need to balance our party out.
I also have level 4 and 5 options as well if we swing that way.
Rogarch |
Hello all. I am looking forward to playing with you.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Welcome all!
good to see you again Rogarch!
Looks like we will have a fair amount of flexibility to set the party level how you guys want.
Make sure to update on the Outpost signup sheet since that's the official spot and they are being strict on having complete information there!
Still a while till we hit the start date, but I'm looking forward to running with you all!
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Looks like the table is full on the sign up- we are at 2.3 so firmly low tier.
Still won't be able to start until February 16 when the convention starts.
Rogarch |
Thanks Oxnard. :)
It looks like we will have to be patient but is that not always the way with PbP anyways?
Boomer Forgehammer |
Boomer is here and ready to blow something up!
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Getting close! Just a few more days and we will be able to begin!
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
That's cool- please make sure to update it on the sign up sheet as well!
Demm tad-draguni |
Looks like we have divine, melee and some range dps. Maybe I should switch to my level 2 investigator or rogue for some skills?
Kelleran Storm |
Demm here. I officially switched to this character so we have a bit of rogue support. I updated the Outpost sign up sheet already.
GM, can you please mard Demm as inactive please?
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
So we are low tier with no adjustment; there's a chance I can get the intro post up tonight, otherwise tomorrow AM (I'm US central time zone).
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Sorry, I had to ask out for clarity what to do with those faction things- I don't often run this early of scenarios.
Demm tad-draguni |
Just a reminder that Demm is no longer in the game. He was swapped out for Kelleran.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Ahhh- got it-- I just went straight off the characters tab and I forgot.
Rogarch |
@Oxnard - I am making the assumption that if you purchase a wand with gold or prestige that the merchant will tell you the command word for that wand at the time of purchase. Is that a good assumption or do I need to have the wizard tell my character what the command word is for said wand? This could have been done while we were travelling at the beginning of the scenario.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
I don't know that what the actual word that activates a wand is ever established/matters- you basically can trigger it if its on your spell list, otherwise it requires UMD-- I don't bloodragers can trigger wands without UMD until they hit 4th level and get the spellcasting class feature.
Rogarch |
@Oxnard - Bloodrager can definitely use wands on their spell list just like Rangers and Paladins at level 1 without UMD. This is clear and detailed under the Spell Trigger section of the CRB p.458. As long as the spell is on your class list you are good to go even if you character cannot cast spells yet.
Generally Detect Magic or Identify will indicate the word to activate the wand but if it purchased I am assuming that the vendor provides it to the buyer. Strictly speaking you only need to know what spell is stored in the wand to use it (according to the CRB text) so even that detail may be unnecessary in actual play as you have already mentioned. I guess if you find the wand in a dungeon you will need to use magic in order to determine what type of wand it is in order to use it properly.
Bloodragers do have to wait until level 4 to use scrolls without using UMD as the Spell Completion method has more demanding criteria including a caster level requirement.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Sorry guys- I got my vaccine Saturday and it absolutely wiped me out and now I'm digging out- will get caught up shortly; hearing "morning" is the choice so will go with that.
I'll PM Boomer to make sure he's still with us.
Demm tad-draguni |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
My principal and some fellow teachers were hit hard by their second dose (Moderna). Fortunately, I was just a bit achy and tired after both shots. It gets better. Hang in there.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Yeah, I'm back in the good physically now- was pretty bad Saturday evening/yesterday though- the chills were the worst.
Rogarch |
Glad to see that you are feeling better Oxnard. You are very lucky to have such early access to the vaccine. Good for you. :)
Is Boomer with us or are we down to four?
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Will see if he responds- otherwise I'll make the adjustment when we get to the next combats.
I think we're doing good on pace for completion here- moving along pretty well.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
I never got a response from Boomer, so I assume we've lost him at this point-- it's ok though, I don't foresee problems with as much combat power as this group has.
Rogarch |
That is not exactly true Fentar. My character has UMD so I can roll and usually succeed after a few attempts. It will not be a in-combat process (hopefully) but with the number of wands in the party we should be alright even if my character does roll a 1 and blocks up a particular wand for the day.
The wizard also has an Infernal Healing wand which he can use so we are covered for an in-combat emergency so do not worry. :)
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Sorry for the delay, I’ll kick off the next room when I get home tonight
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Guys- this slipped my notice when I was updating again last night; apologies all- I think we’re still pretty far ahead of the timeline for this, so I promise I’ll get us moving again shortly.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
She needed a 5 there to get a skeleton summoned and give her maybe half a chance to live a round or two.
Rogarch |
^At least she frightened a Bloodrager and a familiar to boot if only for a round. That is something at least. :)
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Thanks for joining me on this!
You defeated the necromancer (1 PP) and kept the caravan safe (1 PP) so have earned both here.
If you can give me those day job and boon rolls, I will get the reporting and sheets done tonight!
Jaakko Varpunen |
Craft (weapons): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 -> 10 gp
boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 3
which boon: 1d2 ⇒ 1
(from Discord): players roll a d20, if a player is unavailable you may roll for them. A 19 or 20 wins a boon. If you or a player win, do another roll for each winner. For PFS roll a d2 to determine which one you get.
Thanks for running!
Rogarch |
Rogarch has no day job unfortunately and no boon today either.
boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 16
@Oxnard - I am assuming that we were able to resolve the combat encounter with the Worg through Diplomacy and without violence so at least she gets to check a box on her reward sheet. Is this correct?
Thanks so much for running Oxnard.
Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Yes that was a successful diplomatic resolution if you have that on a faction or other boon sheet to check.
