Drazzel the Magnificent
|
There isn't a compass rose on the map. I'm assuming north is up on the map. If you move east of Jun-Mei, that'd put you in Drazzel's square. Do you want to be put south-east of Jun-Mei, below Drazzel?
I moved you there. Let me know if that's okay.
Drazzel the Magnificent

This is weird. Why are Drazzel's stats showing up as a completely different PC? Did someone hack my account?
Hepcut Cloudsteel

It looks like it has your profile information for Redd Appleblossom, another one of your PCs...

Aeinquel's crossbow bolt flies wide of the visible (blue) thing. In response, the creature flies up (to a height of ten feet) and towards the clustering of party members around Jun-Mei. From its loft, the thing exhales a cloud of dust and sediment that envelops the Tien warrior, the kobold, and the wizard.
GM rolling Reflex Saves: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Slashing Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 Jun-Mei and Aeinquel take 3pts of damage; Drazzel takes 7pts of damage.
GM roll: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The trio cough and wince as a torrent of particulate dust scours their forms. The wizard and the warpriest somehow find some cover; the kobold is less fortunate.
Jun-Mei, Drazzel, and Erathiel may act! I put some notes on the map for reference.

Erathiel sprints towards the creature north from the party and uses the momentum to slash at the beast.

Drazzel the Magnificent
|
Drazzel stays in the spot by Jun-Mei, as she inspires courage with her beautiful song.
These must be da bandits Tidbit was talkin' about.
He utters a command in draconic, creating a magical shield of force to hover in front of him.
He then points at a fist sized stone nearby and flings it at the flying creature closest to him.

Correct, Erathiel. Not hidden to you anymore. And yes, Drazzel's damage is 1 less on that successful hit.
Erathiel's blade cleaves into the northernmost creature while Drazzel clips the flying thing that just flayed him.
It is Jun-Mei's turn, though I see she's doing things on the map as I type this...
Song Jun-Mei
|
Jun-Mei, it also looks like you spent an action expanding the bless. Is that the case?
yes
GM Dinketry
|
Jun-Mei expands her blessing, steps forward, and misses with her glaive! From its concealed perch, one of the creature flies ahead with speed and claws at the wizard, Aeinquel!
Fly twice; strike.
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 281d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 CRITICAL HIT! 8pts of damage, Aeinquel!
The winged fiend scores a vicious slash across the wizard's face, nearly blinding Aeinquel!
Kurvok and Hepcut may act!
Kurvok
|
Kurvok hears Aeinquel being attacked, and cracks a cold grin. ”Here, little fishy”, he grunts, running up to the gremlin. He opens his maw to take a bite, then tries to sink his fist into it.

The 'fishy' just evades Kurvok's bite but isn't so swift to avoid a glancing blow to its flank.
Hepcut is up!
Hepcut Cloudsteel

Hepcut strides forward and tries to grab the little monster attacking her compatriots. Then she takes a big bite out of it.
Athletics vs creature's Fort DC: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 23 If I succeed, the creature is grappled

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 +2 if I succeed to grab because I'll get panache
GM Dinketry
|
Hepcut, you can't grab the creature in question because it's 10 feet up off of the ground, as noted in the slides. You also cannot attack via melee with something without reach (like Jun-Mei has with her glaive). Wanna try something else?
GM Dinketry
|
” Fly twice; strike.”
I’m not sure how that can be misunderstood as Stride-Strike-Stride because it clearly does not say that. The thing that attacked you, Aeinquel, is right next to you.
As Hepcut seems to have moved from where I originally saw her on the map, I will assume that they are attacking the yellow creature (the one attacking Aeinquel). Perhaps that is the source of my confusion.
Hepcut grapples the creature that slashed the wizard across the face, biting savagely into it much in the same way as her fellow orc across the field of battle.
GM Dinketry

Before progressing, I need flat checks (DC 5) on the attacks from Drazzel, Kurvok (x2), and Hepcut. You are all DAZZLED and remain so.
ROUND 3!
The aloft dusky-winged thing drops down on the far side of Jun-Mei, slashes with a cruel claw, then flies at Erathiel, muttering to itself all the while.
Melee Attack vs Jun-Mei: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 MISS!
The claw clangs against the Tien warpriest's glaive before the creature flies past.
Aeinquel, you may act!
Aeinquel
|
Clinging to consciousness by a thread, the elf staggers back towards Jun-Mei. His fingers dance gracefully in arcane patterns, leaving faintly phosphorescent trails in the desert air, as he chants in the language of dragons. The orb of flame that appears in his hand at the conclusion of his spell, though, fizzles out when he can't see his target.

Correcting the flat checks against the Dazzled condition on Drazzel, Kurvok, and Hepcut: Drazzel and Kurvok hit with their attacks; Hepcut missed. Hepcut, you did not gain panache from your action.
The female orc thinks she's grabbed onto and bit the flying creature, but has instead bit into a palm leaf nearby. Aeinquel tries to cast an incantation as he stumbles away from the snarling winged creature, but loses concentration as he avoids falling into Drazzel.
On the other side of the battlefield, the pair of not-gremlins team up on Erathiel.
Stride. Erathiel is flanked (flat-footed). Strike and strike again.
Melee Attack #1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 111d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 MISS!
Melee Attack #2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 HIT! 3pts of damage, Erathiel!
The fiend-not-fiend slashes twice at Erathiel, scoring a ragged bloody line across the warrior's chest.
Jun-Mei, Drazzel, and Erathiel may all act!

I didn't catch this before, but if Erathiel is using an Elven Curve Blade as his sword, then that's a 1d8 for damage die. What sword is Erathiel using?

Also, Erathiel, in addition to clarifying the correct damage die for your weapon, I need you to tell me which enemy (pink or blue) that you’re attacking. Please don’t say “which ever is more injured” because you don’t have the ability to know that information.

1. My mistake, I'll reroll both damage rolls that had hit.
2. He is hitting the one he knows is injured, the one he hit earlier, which I believe is pink. I'll be more explicit next time.
3. Edit: WOW, 2 nat 1s on the damage dice lol

I hate to be THAT GM, but Jun-Mei, you are dazzled. You are targeting Aeinquel with a remote spell. I need a flat DC 5 check from you.
The winged creature that Hepcut tried to grab attacks the orc pair with two separate claws before chittering to itself and flying to rejoin its compadres.

Hepcut, Kurvok, and Drazzel, if you have attacks of opportunity, you may take one. I don't believe any of you do, but I might be mistaken.
Kurvok and Hepcut are up in order!

Kurvok grimaces as the creature flies off. ”Get over here, meat!”, he snarls. Following it toward the rocks, he unleashes another bolt of lightning, which arcs from one gremlin to another.

Kurvok's electrical blast arcs through the nearer winged thing but misses the far target. Hepcut launches herself at the fleeing foe. Her jaws bring it down in a shower of gray blood.
ROUND 4!
The far (pink) foe attacks Erathiel once, snickers, flies around behind Hepcut, and then attacks the orc.

Melee Attack vs Hepcut: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 9 - 4 = 151d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 MISS!
The creature snickers angrily when it misses twice.

"My thanks to you and your Lady." Reinvigorated by Jun-Mei's potent healing magic, Aeinquel strides around the warpriest and attempts his spell again. This time, a small ball of fire materializes in his hand. He hurls it at the nearest enemy, but misses (I presume).
