Thanks! Amended turn now that she's conscious
Action 1: Interact
Action 2 Stand
Action 3: Command an Animal (Stand, Stride)
Zalmora opens her eyes, seeing a beautiful blue sky peeking through the canopy above. She shifts, a ray of sunlight filling her vision...
... and then the sound and the pain returns. She winces as she sits up, seeing her allies skirmish with a strange beast. Ah yes, this. We're not done yet.
Turning she sees Osinniel finish her spell, and gives the elf a grateful nod. Picking up her bow, she shouts, "Baxter, to me!"
Ever the faithful dog, the equally wounded canine stands and strides over to Zalmora. He gives her a mournful look and licks her hand. "Yes boy, soon. And you've earned the treat."
Capricio Durey
|
Capricio strides around the sinkhole to stand beside Zalmora.
"Can we finish off that creature before it flees?"
He casts Magic Weapon on Zalmora's bow.
"May the Starsong guide your arrows."
Capricio can cast one more heal if we need it.
Kralgang
|
And I only now realize Devise a Stratagem is a free action since I am pursuing a lead
Kralgang weighs his chances against the beast.
Potential Sap Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Uses hero point
Potential Sap Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
He instead chooses to make an Elixir of Life and feeds it to Zalmora
Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4
He then moves two spaces NE and then 2 spaces E to keep up with the creature.
GM Dennis

The creature pops around the tree, pouncing on the pursuing Kralgang and attacking several times before bounding away!
Jaws: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Piercing: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Claws: 1d20 + 13 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 4 = 20
Slashing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Claws: 1d20 + 13 - 8 ⇒ (8) + 13 - 8 = 13
Slashing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
One hit, 12 points
Despite what it seems, that was actually 4 actions, not 5. This thing is rough.

Action 1: Stride
Action 2: Hunted Shot
Action 3: Strike
"Praise be to Desna," she says as a reply to Capricio. She then takes off like a shot, stopping once she has clear line of sight.
Feet braced, she lets loose several arrows in quick succession.
Hunted Shot 1: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
Hunted Shot 2: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
Strike 1: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9

Capricio smiles and nods as one of Zalmora’s arrows hits.
He then follows Zalmora’s route to stand next to Kleebo.
”If you’re going to chase this creature, may the Lady of Luck guide you.”
He casts Bit of Luck on Kleebo. In case there’s more sinkholes!
Kralgang
|
Kralgang feels like the Lady's blessing has left him. Perhaps she is sending him a message. Would his Kukri work better?
Potential Kukri Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
He drops his sap, draws his kukri and bounds after the creature, following its footsteps exactly, seeing the kukri striking and taking its miserable life clearly in his head.
Critical Hit! Hallelujah!: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18
GM Dennis
|
After discussion via Slack, that expression for Kralgang should have been (2d6+1)*2. Using the existing rolls, that's 14 total points of damage on that crit.
Kralgang carefully follows the creature's footsteps, advancing on it and landing a brutal blow with his kukri. Zalmora supplements that with a well-placed arrow, but the creature remains standing!
Wounded and angry, the creature leaps at Kralgang, fangs bared!
Jaws: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Piercing: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
When Kralgang deflects the blow, it slashes at the hobgoblin instead!
Claws: 1d20 + 13 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 13 - 4 = 14
Slashing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Claws: 1d20 + 13 - 8 ⇒ (2) + 13 - 8 = 7
Slashing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Frustrated and fearful of Kralgang's blade, it retreats a few steps. Charmed life, right there!

Action 1: Stride
Action 2: Hunted Shot
Action 3: Strike
Zalmora moves to get a clearer shot, then lets fire three arrows at her prey once more.
Hunted Shot 1: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 = 25
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Hunted Shot 2: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Strike 3: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage (P): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Kralgang
|
This creature must be sent to the Boneyard.
Potential Kukri Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
"Provide me a flank, friends and I shall finish it!"
He skirts around the rocks and readies an attack for when the creature is distracted.
Damage, if relevant:: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8
Osinniel Grace
|
"Kralgang. That thing nearly murdered you. Doesn't that make you mad."
It is not a question when Osinniel says it. Despite her dark tinted glasses, you can suddenly see her eyes burning with hellfire.
"I can help you, Kralgang, if you do what I say."
Kralgang can choose whether he is willing to let Osinniel cast Diabolical Edict on him.
"Finish it."
Kralgang gets a +1 status bonus to all his attacks against the creature this round, but takes a -1 status penalty to do anything else. She then casts shield.
Cross-posted, but I started the post while KRalgang was in range of the spell.

Capricio cocks an eyebrow as Osinniel and Kralang negotiate.
"I've seen some questionable deals in my travels, but better the devil you know, I suppose."
Kralgang
|
If permitted, I will take the attack since I got the +1. Don't know if that is enough to connect, but might save my bacon.
GM Dennis
|
Kralgang feels himself compelled to attack, moving into position and waiting for a flank. Before he gets a chance to act, though, a volley of arrows from Zalmora and Kleebo arrive, half of them landing true and leaving the beast bleeding and unconscious on the ground!
Out of combat! That attack wouldn't have hit, even with the +1 (he had AC 22).
Zalmora
|
Zalmora breathes a sigh of relief, then retrieves her shortsword. She walks over to the downed creature keeping her eyes peeled for anymore sinkholes. Baxter follows behind her.
Warily she kneels down and checks to see if it is truly dead. It gives her a minute to finally study the creature.
Recall Knowledge: 1d20 ⇒ 20 add +5 if it's Nature
She then studies the remains, looking for anything noteworthy.
Kralgang
|
This foul beast was a worthy opponent. Kralgang bends down over it and says
"Die easy, beast. You will face judgement soon enough."
He waits by its side until life has left it and then turns to his companions.
"Perhaps we should seek out this creature's lair. Otherwise we should report that our work is done. I have seen your worth as warriors and will pray that the Lady judges you favourably when you find yourself before her throne."
Capricio Durey
|
Capricio sighs with relief at the death of the creature.
”Well done all. I cannot help but feel Desna was watching over us.”
He looks around cautiously.
”Can we make our way out of here without triggering any more sinkholes?”
Osinniel Grace
|
Osinniel speaks brightly, her eyes returned to a normal dim red glow. "Yes, we should try to step carefully. Those sinkholes are dangerous."
Zalmora
|
"Finding its lair isn't a bad idea. I should be able to track it back, though it might take some time. In the interim..."
Zalmora will set to the task of cutting off the beast's head.

Zalmora searches her memory for tales of such a beast. After a moment, an answer bubbles to mind, dismissed instinctively as a legend. Still, blood-drinking creatures are rare, and ones so humanoid in shape are rarer still, at least in the natural world. Yes, surely this can only be one thing, though until this moment she wasn't sure it was real: el chupacabra!
GM Dennis
|
Looking around carefully for more sinkholes, you find only one more, the beasts final position such that an andvancing Kleebo would have stepped right into it! Added to the map.
Kralgang
|
Kleebo looks at Kralgang.
"Does EVERYTHING go for judgement?"
Kralgang stares at Kleebo, utterly without humour.
All but my kind, little friend. We are not so fortunate.

Haha it is a real challenge for me to play such a dark and humourless character.
Taking it from the idea that Duskwalkers just get reincarnated rather than dying and as a servant of Pharasma with very low wisdom and poor religious knowledge, he has certain ideas about how the world works that may or may not be accurate.
Zalmora
|
"I never thought I would encounter such a thing. A chupacabra!" Zalmora marvels as she severs the head. "I know the farmer simply wanted his prize animals to be spared, so I don't know what kind of proof he needs. But the head of this blood-sucking monster should do."

On the trip back, Capricio pulls the lute from his pack and strums a light melody.
"We saved some beautiful alpacas today. I'm quite happy about that."
He smiles, thoughtful, as he plays and walks.
"I don't claim to know much about Pharasma or the Boneyard, but I know about journeys, and I think you're on one Kralang, just like all of us. Sounds like yours is a little more circular is all."

An examination of the beast's lair reveals little more than rotting, bloodless animal carcasses, evidence of other meals. You're fairly certain after examination, however, that this was a solitary creature. Returning to the farm with your gruesome trophy, the farmer is beyond relieved to to hear that the threat to his precious alpacas is dispatched. ”Oh, it’s just like th’ stories ol’ man Johnson used t’ tell when I was a young’n! T’be honest, I didna think these critters were real. Anywho, I sure am glad you took care of the nasty thing. Here’s your reward, and well earned at that!” He hands you a bag of 20 gold pieces, before continuing. ”Oh, an’ one more thing! Ol’ Majesty o’er yonder, well it seems he’s gonna be a daddy once again! I sure would be chuffed to name the li’l critter after one’a you fine folk once it’s born, in honor o’ you comin’ all th’way out here to help an old farmer. What’ya say, who’s it gonna be?”
Alright, that's actually the end, now. I'll get chronicles put together and sent out tomorrow. Thanks for playing, everyone!
