Heyas. So we only dot in gameplay after the organizers give the go ahead?
| EbonFist |
No, you can go ahead and dot in if you've signed up on the spreadsheet.
If you have to be moved to another table for some reason, I can remove you from this game.
But, I doubt that will happen.
Gava Son of Emer

Done!
The higher tiers are filling up fast.
| EbonFist |
Indeed. I'm hoping to get my 6th level Solarian in one of the games when they open up recruitment on the 19th but it's not looking very promising. (I already signed up a character for the other special or I'd already have done it.)

How is it September already? Dotting to let you know I'm here but it's late. I'll post tomorrow.
I'm as surprised as you.
And realizing I wasn't as prepared as I thought.
But, the maps and slides are posted now. Please fill in your information on slide 2.
You can see pictures and info on our current tasks on slide 4 and slide 5 and 6 talk about aid tokens.

I will definitely forget that, Aluradax, so remind me again towards the end.
Congratulations, guys! You managed to get the best results for all the skill checks in this part of the scenario.
I added a spoiler with the rewards to the Campaign. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
The plot should move on this afternoon, but feel free to RP your mingling at the party until then.
Gava Son of Emer

Congratulations, guys! You managed to get the best results for all the skill checks in this part of the scenario.
Nice!
The amount of charisma-based skill bonuses is distressing.
What's our APL for the VIP Roundup hard reward?
And if I understood it right, we already get the food container (+1 skills and saves for level per minutes & mk 3 serum of healing) and a mk 1 serum of healing to carry around.
| EbonFist |
The APL is 1.5 so I'd round up to 2.
The food acts as a mk 3 serum but I don't see anything that would give you a mk 1 serum, too.
Gava Son of Emer
|
It might actually be 3 mk 1 serums of healing:
"VIP ROUNDUP Easy: The three VIPs are grateful for the escort and give each PC a Mk 1 Serum of Healing..."
The 3 VIPs give each PC one serum, or each VIP give each PC one serum?
| EbonFist |
Ah. You're right. Totally skipped over that part.
Each PC gets one serum.

I'll grab a smoke grenade only, since I don't have proficiency with grenades.
Gava Son of Emer

Good choice, I was going to suggest mission 1 as well - with this plethora of operatives and one envoy, we should focus on skill challenges.
We should go for 5 and 4 next.
Max Deverell

I have a question on boons. You mentioned 3 that were relevant so I'll slot "Acquainted with Datch". I also have AbadarCorp Acquaintance (Respect) which would seem to be useful but you didn't mention anything about it. If it won't have an effect on the scenario, I'll pick a different one.
| EbonFist |
AbadarCorp Acquaintance (Respect) will not have any impact on the scenario.

My best skill for this case is just a Perception +6 - I don't think we have any professional gamblers, so anyone has a better Perception or high bonus Sleight of Hand?
Though our odds seem better at just letting her deal and trying to catch her cheating.
Aluradux Hass
|
So I was pondering this while at work today and I think I have it sussed out. If you'll forgive a bit of metagaming, I suspect we need to visit the other locales to build up a stake to get our 5000 credits. Then we pit our best suited person against her in order to beat her.
Aluradux has a +6 Sleight of Hand but a +0 perception. I suspect one of our operatives will likely be the one to play against her. For the time being I think we should see what we can do about gathering some funds for that 5000 cr stake. I suspect we can do some 'creative' play in some of the other rooms. Computers for example in the Nova Room to predict or possibly hack the slot machines.

"The game is Baksu and I don't waist my time with single cred players. The stakes are 5,000 credits per round. Are you in, or are you out?" Denanne says.
Baksu is an antiquated card game, in which the player receives six cards and the dealer receives seven. Each forms their best three-card
hand, then reveals their cards to determine the winning hand.Denanne will play three rounds against one character. She allows the character to decide who deals for each round. Each round, the character can attempt to beat Denanne fairly by succeeding at a Perception or easier Profession (gambler) check, with a flat 20% chance of failure even if they succeed. Otherwise, the character can try to cheat to win by succeeding at a Profession (gambler) check or a difficult Bluff, or Sleight of Hand check with no additional chance of failure. Characters not involved in the game can catch Denanne cheating by succeeding at a difficult Perception check. The characters can cheat only while dealing and can observe Denanne cheating only while she deals.
Man this is right up my con artist envoy's alley. Can this be replayed at a different tier?
Eclipse-22
|
I have a +8 Sleight of Hand, +7 Bluff and +7 Perception.
With only 81 credits to his name, I would have to work on Luxx bucks from another floor.
Eclipse-22
|
I am personally hoping this guy in the lounge will either sponsor a bet against her in some amount or give us some information. So that is why I am chasing that lead.
| EbonFist |
Man this is right up my con artist envoy's alley. Can this be replayed at a different tier?
It can, indeed.
| EbonFist |
It hasn't come up but a map of the Grand Casino floor and a picture of Denanne are up on slide 8.
Feel free to decide which mission you want to tackle next.
The list is on slide 20. I'll take the 1st two agreeing votes.
Gava Son of Emer
|
That's one good looking map.
Yep, number 5 is my vote as well.
| GM Cwethan |
Hi all!
I've got an Aid Token coming in hot for you, boosted with First Aid by the inimitable Flenn Cybertooth!
| EbonFist |
So it has been written, so it shall be done. 5 is next.
Please see slides 5, 6, and 7 on the deck for rules on Aid Tokens.
I would ask that you use or pass it by the end of the next combat encounter. The more they're used, the more powerful they are.
Gava Son of Emer
|
We are not going anywhere near combat soon, I believe - better just pass it around.
Can we keep the First Aid boost, or do we have to boost it ourselves?
Gava Son of Emer
|
I vote for passing it to tables in combat missions or with fewer players.
| EbonFist |
I realized I didn't make it clear in my Gameplay post - Each of you who failed can try again, up to 3 more times as you "booth hop" from one receptionist to the next.
Feel free to make all your rolls in your next post.
| EbonFist |
I was just reminded that you guys have some pre-mission prep rewards.
If they were willing to use it, the Average reward from Media Boost MIGHT be just enough to get Aluradux and Benacu through the doors if they wanted to use it.
It is a one time use but might be worth it.
| EbonFist |
So, this mission is almost over. We'll deal with the fallout of the Will saves and then a post about you guys exiting the building but other than that, it's time to figure out what you want to tackle next.
As usual, first two corresponding votes decides. Check out slide 20 for the available missions. Only the covert ones are currently open.
And for anyone who has forgotten, you've completed Winner Takes All and Golden Caper.

#4 Corporate Culture - I got the survival business covered
Gava Son of Emer
|
Table GMs, covert mission four is now closed and action mission four is now available for selection.
Just realized the missions with the "same number" take place in the same worlds.
I'm doubling down on #4 now, to move on to the action missions.
| EbonFist |
Yup. The mission types are different (even so far as the starship combat mission occurring in a different spot in the second round) but the locations are the same.
It looks like we're moving on to Universal Healthcare after this, unless a couple of people echo Gava and want to move on to the first action mission.
I'll give Max and Floquet until tomorrow to make their saves and move us along, either way.
