The remaining zombie, still dripping with peculiar and noisome fluids, staggers forward and takes a slam at Desynthia. It fails to connect, though, blocked by the sorceress' armor of force.

Desynthia and Vulf are up!
Human: AC ? T ? FF ? HP taken: 0
Zombie (yellow): AC 12 T 10 FF 12 HP taken: 0
| DM Carbide |
I should point out that you know the man is using splash weapons, and if he targets anyone next to Nala the splash damage may kill her. It will certainly start her bleeding again.
Vulf Sorgrim
|
Vulf, try to get that man down!
"Of course, My Lady." Vulf replies. The cleric takes a deep breath, lifts his warhammer high and then rushes forward, pushing past the zombie, and bringing the favored weapon of his deity within inches of the man's face.
Provoking AoO from zombie, Vulf double moves.
Desynthia Medzen
|
That's quite the wild bet...But I guess Bobbie can fend of the zombie a few moments
Smash the other zombie, Boobie, and trust me!
Desynthia steps back, and unleashes a dart of energy... aiming the defenseless Nala, much to your surprise!
Touch ac, on ground: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Hoping that would hit, No Dex bonus but Prone vs ranged attack should be AC 14
IF Nala is good-aligned, that heals: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Heavenly Fire (Sp): Starting at 1st level, you can unleash a ray of heavenly fire as a standard action, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. Against evil creatures, this ray deals 1d4 points of damage + 1 for every two sorcerer levels you possess. This damage is divine and not subject to energy resistance or immunity. This ray heals good creatures of 1d4 points of damage + 1 for every two sorcerer levels you possess. A good creature cannot benefit from your heavenly fire more than once per day. Neutral creatures are neither harmed nor healed by this effect. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.
| DM Carbide |
Good plan, Desynthia!

Nala is thankful for the healing, or would be if she woke up from it.
Thanks, closer to positive!
Erica 'Bobbie' Zufan
|
"Wait, Desynthia, I'll see if I can clear the way!"
Seeing that Vulf is in great difficulty, Erica changes her strategy. Taking a step forward, she swoops at the zombie's legs, using her shield to unbalance him further and knock him down.
Trip: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
| DM Carbide |
Erica knocks the lumbering undead over! It struggles to its feet again, though, drawing AoOs from both Erica and Desynthia.
Desynthia Medzen

Forfeit my Aoo to move, as I should act right after the zombie anyway
UMD: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
CLw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Desynthia, knowing that, unlike the fighter, she won't do much damage to the fallen undead, nods to Bobbie and dashes toward Azral.
she mutters to herself
That was a cunning plan...*
Taking his magical wand out of his hand, she frantically uses it on the bleeding rogue, with feeble success. But it's better than nothing
*
| DM Carbide |
Desynthia, that sounds like two move actions (move, pick up wand) plus a standard action (activate wand). How are you doing that in a single round?
Erica 'Bobbie' Zufan
|
Erica quickly takes a swing at the zombie before it can fully get back up.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 - 1 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6 And of course, the dice fail me

Desynthia, is your plan so cunning that you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel?
Erica misses the zombie as it stands up a bit more quickly than she anticipated.

Melee damage (B): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
He then takes a defensive step back.

Vulf tags the man, who grunts in pain and glowers at the cleric. He grabs another vial from his belt and drinks down the contents.
Erica is up!
Erica 'Bobbie' Zufan

Erica brings her hammer down swiftly on the zombie standing before her, grimacing when it deals less damage than she would have hoped for.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 1 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11

Erica staggers under the zombie's strike, her arms sore under the weight of her shield and hammer.
"Time to end this," she groans, bringing her hammer in what she hopes to be one last swing.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 1 = 16

Still, it's better than nothing...

Desynthia's efforts to cure Vulf come at just the right time, as the man finally connects with another spear blow. Vulf, take 8 HP.

Sadly, Erica's hammer doesn't even connect with the zombie, and she mouths a quiet prayer to Iomedae as she sees Vulf fall.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 1 = 5
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11

Given that this strategy had already worked and the situation is getting desperate, Erica tries to throw the zombie off-balance again. Thankfully, it doesn't have the brains to see her coming.
Trip: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
| DM Carbide |
The zombie swings at Erica as she knocks it off its feet, but misses. Erica, you have a move action left, and the zombie has taken its AoO for the round. Do you want to ready your shield?
Slam AoO at Erica: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
| DM Carbide |
I believe that with the protection from evil spell, your current AC is 24, then.
The zombie stands up. Both Erica and Desynthia can take AoOs on it.
| DM Carbide |
The zombie finally falls and does not move.

Unfortunately, Erica's strike isn't as precise as she would have hoped, and she doesn't hit.

It seems my yesterday post got eaten by zombies kittens from outer space. Again.
Desynthia orders her new found ally, a golden eagle, to attack their oversized foe, while she tries to heal her fallen companions
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
But nothing seems to work, and the sorceress hair gets a ghostly palor under the stress
| DM Carbide |
Desynthia, the range on summon monster i is such that you can create it in a flank with Erica, so I've set it up that way. It still won't hit, but it'll give Erica a better chance of tagging the big guy (or make the big guy waste an attack on the eagle). Also, the wand is touch range, which constrains your ability to heal unless you use heavenly fire...which you could also use against the big guy, if it comes to that.

Thanks in part to the distraction caused by the eagle, Erica finds enough time to adjust her stance and bring down a more precise blow on the man. Sadly, it still misses by an inch. Argh!
