Ok, Juniper refused the d-door.
Free Action: assign +1 untyped bonus from Juniper's guardian shield to Grel's AC. It lasts until the beginning of my next turn.
Juniper maintains her defensive posture, then casually strolls back over to Ajax and Ara, drawing her lucern hammer. "I can protect all three of you from here."
She turns to the bone devil, "You are defeated. Return to your wretched native plane of existence!"
Standard: Total Defense
Move: Movement, provoking from the bone devil
Juniper's defenses are currently
AC 42, touch 24, flat-footed 31, CMD 28 (+2 vs grapple, reposition, trip). All of these get +2 vs AoO's.
Grel gets +5 to his AC; Ajax and Ara get +4, until the beginning of my next turn. These are luck bonuses (if that matters).

the four guards here are down and out, sorry if one was still on the map, and the other sets of guards are staying at their own doors unless you go out of your way to involve them-- do you want to attack the bone devil?
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Round 3
Grell bites the Bone Devil, grappling it, but missing with both claws.
Round 4

Petra Orlovsky

Petra d-doored herself. It hasn’t been another round since then has it? Also what happened with Emberkins magic missiles when Karina cast invis?
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
When Karina begins her casting, Embkerkin fires magic missiles and you watch as they impact an invisible shield of force and dissipate harmlessly.
yes, this is the next round after dimension door was cast
Petra Orlovsky
|
Damn shield. As least I can still see the b~*~+ See invis is up
"Oh no! Where ever did she go?" Sarcasm drips from Petra's voice as she spins on the spot and stares straight the Chelish woman
"Wait, never mind. There she is. Not great at this are you?"
Petra draws power from her metamagic rod as well as using her own skills to enhance the magic before unleashing a blast of flame.
Intensified, Persistent, Flaring Burning Arc.

| Emberkin Dracolepus |
Disappointing to see that my attempts to disrupt her spell casting were ineffective.
Kelvor hears Emberkin in his head dispite the faerie dragon's invisibility Lets see if we can clear one of those images and possible taunt her into striking
Darting forward and trusting in his invisibility to prevent attacks of opportunity Emberkin lashes out with his fangs.

I haven't included any effects of the invisibility in that

I think that's 107 damage after DR to the second bone devil. 3 from Ara, 3 from Grel, and 101 from Kelvor. I think Ara and Grel should still get a trophy.

Round 4
Petra fires her spell:
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
She fails, but a magical protection she has active prevents some of the damage.
Embkerkin bites, but misses.
Kelvor critically hits the remaining Bone Devil leaving him severely wounded.
Karina lands and attempts to hit with a Vampiric Strike:
Concentration: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Human Bane Rapier: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Apparently she fails spectacularly.
As you feel the tide of the battle inside the Senate chamber itself, you see a rush of people coming back the other way! Panicked!
"There's monsters in the front chamber! Ghosts! A lion!"

Ajax Arrowhawk wrote:Shouldn't that be 107 damage? Ara did 13=3 after DR. Grel did 13= 3 after DR and Kelvor did 111=101 after DR.@ GM: Is the bone devil still standing?
No- sure enough I went back through and the Bone Devil I thought was barely alive is in fact barely dead- Grel if you want to change your action you can
Juniper Berrythwaite
|
I will wait for Ajax to go, so that I can best position myself.
Ajax Arrowhawk
|
Are we all here going to take down Karina or are some of us going for the ghosts? I guess I vote that we don't split the party, but it might be smart to send Embarkin to scout out what is happening? Don't want us to be late stopping the assassination.
@Gm, can Ajax see her after she attacked Petra? or at least pinpoint her? If so, Ajax will fire a Dye arrow. If he can't pinpoint, no arrow.
Ajax and Ara move up to where see Petra and aim to where she seems to be defending herself.
Dye arrow w H FE(+4 vs Humans: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40
Concealment (low is always bad): 1d100 ⇒ 23 Have improved precise shot if not total concealment
Ajax whispers to Ara, "Ara track her by scent, if she comes close, taker her down." Ready her attack
Juniper Berrythwaite
|
Juniper maintains her defensive stance and moves forward to support Petra. "Where is she, Petra?"
Petra gets a +4 bonus to her AC as long as she is adjacent to Juniper.
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
she's on greater invisibility, but you could pinpoint the square based on where Petra who has see invis up said she is, but she is still on total concealment so the miss chance applies
Petra Orlovsky
|
I don't actually have a way to remove the invis (no glitterdust on principle)
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Ajax did you have more than 1 or only a single arrow? with the Bone Devil now dead, Petra and Kelvor can both act again before Karina gets a chance to move; you can pinpoint her square but she has 50% miss chance (Except Petra)
Ajax Arrowhawk
|
For this round, I had to move, so I only got to fire one arrow. If I could see Petra from where I was already standing, then I could fire more arrows, but it doesn't look like I had line of sight.
| Emberkin Dracolepus |
Emberkin steps back to give himself space to cast and creates a puddle of grease underneath Karina.
DC 14 Reflex [ooc]
As he does so his invisibly runs out and with his cover this blown he wastes no time in pointing out Karina
[ooc] move action to point her out? Is that a thing?
”She’s right there! Get her!”
Petra Orlovsky
|
Are there still civilians around us? Could I get a fireball or a burning hands off without collateral damage?
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
There are still civilians around-I'd rule you could find a path to get off a smaller effect the size of burning hands without collateral, but not fireball
And I've always considered pointing out the five foot square of an invisible creature to be just talking as a free action- I'm not aware of any rule contradicting that.
Petra Orlovsky
|
Petra grins wickedly and flames spring into life from several tattoos and run down her body to form an inferno in each hand.
”This should illuminate the situation!”
Drawing from the metamagic rod and an alchemist fire as an addition material component Petra unleashes a Persistent, Intensified, Flaring Burning Hands DC 19 Reflex save for half. Roll twice and take the worst. If she fails the save she catches fire as if hit by an alchemist fire.
Burning Hands Damage: 10d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 4) + 10 = 38
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah

concealment (low is always bad): 1d100 ⇒ 100
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Round 4
Juniper positions herself to aid her teammates' defense.
Grel moves.
Round 5
Ajax moves and misses.
Kelvor hit Karina, dealing her a mighty blow.
Emberkin casts grease and Petra fires her enhanced Burning Hands:
Reflex Grease: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Reflex Burning Hands: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Reflex Burning Hands: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
With see invisibility active, Petra watches the critically wounded Karina take the full force of her spell and fall to the ground, a flaming corpse, her charred remains becoming visible.
With Karina dealt with the Senate Chamber itself begins to calm down, while the panic in the front corridors continues. . .
Turn Order:
1. Ajax 31
2. Bone Devils 24
3. Kelvor 22
4. Petra 18
5. Ghosts!? 14
7. Juniper 9
8. Calhadion Vernisant + Saluxar
10. Grel 7
Damage done:
Bone devil: 104
Status:
Grel 51/62, pending DC 20 FORT save vs. poison
Kelvor 100/115
That brings up the party- until one of you gets to line of sight of the encounter which is in area B1- to speed up getting there everyone should take 2 actions here.
Juniper Berrythwaite
|
Juniper leads the way toward the reports of a lion and ghosts. Along the way, she recasts shield from her wand.
When she is within sight of the BBEG...
"Stand down, sir, and call off your minions, lest your fate becomes the same as your friend back there," she thumbs toward the senate floor. "In the name of Apsu, I offer protection for those you seek to harm!"
Juniper is using her Bastion of Good against him, as a swift action.
Grel Veldgott
|
Depending on how many Haste rounds we have left, we can get there pretty quickly.
Grel strides behind Juniper in his panther form, waiting to pounce on our target if he does not comply.
fort save for poison still?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
I was counting about 240+ to get there hence 2 rounds to try to fast forward to where the action happens.
Ajax Arrowhawk
|
Ajax will replenish his Gravity Bow from the wand and ask someone to cast Mage Armor on him from his wand if there is still time. Ajax offers a charge to Grel and Kelvor if the want it. Though I doubt these are real ghosts.
Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah
|
Kelvor races forward until he comes even wit Grel. Then, knowing that people have been shouting about "ghosts," he stops and coats his earthbreaker of bludgeoning doom with a small packet of ghost salts.
"This will make my strikes more likely to hit any ghosts he's got," says Kelvor to Grel.
Full Round move 140ft; second full round apply ghost salt.

Three Questions
First lets know about that madness.
After that what do the other two questions give me about their resistances? DR/energy resistance in particular (Mind effecting/paralysis/SR if I get more info, I’ve seen lots of table variance with knowledge checks)
” That is Earl Calhadion Vernisant! He is the ruler of Ridopport, small coastal town. I suspect he is the leader of these forces, at least the ones inside the Senate building. Presumably a Stavian loyalist.”
His telepathic voice is instructive verging on didactic. A mature professor teaching a beginners class.
”The creatures on the other hand are Allips. [Insert answers to my questions here]
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Allips: Resistances- Incorporeal, undead traits, and Channel Resistance; Babble All Sane Creatures within 60 feet have to save DC 15 Will or be fascinated for 2d4 rounds (sonic, mind affecting, compulsione effect) saving makes you immune for 24 hours, but that's against each individually so you'd each need to make 3 separate saves; their touch attack does Wisdom damage
Round 7/8
Turn Order:
1. Ajax 31
3. Kelvor 22
4. Petra 18
5. Allips!? 14
7. Juniper 9
8. Calhadion Vernisant + Saluxar
10. Grel 7

Kelvor 100/115
I think everyone has taken 2 actions, so let's start with Grel to end round 7 and then Ajax/KElvor/Petra before the Allips at the start of round 8
And remember 3 Will saves as/if you come within 60 ft. of the Allips
