The man rubs his wrists and thanks Jon for releasing him from the torture device.

"The name's Marcus. I'm a merchant dealing in silks. These rogues nabbed me from my room at the Bent Goblin Inn weeks ago. They've been trying to get information about my suppliers. I'm not looking for a blade, I just help getting out of here."

Perc DC12:
The man's hands are rough and callused. Hardly what you would expect to see on a merchant, silk or otherwise.

Know(local) DC12:
The Bent Goblin Inn, while far from the worst the city has to offer, is still an establishment several steps lower in quality than you would expect even a moderately successful merchant to stay at.

@Kellan:
Something about the shift of his eye and tone of his voice rings false to you.

He winks at Bhru as he kneels and strips the chain shirt over the liars head. He noticed the brand, Nerull's brand, his brand, as soon as the man's shirt disappeared and he hoped to conceal it from his companions while looting the unconscious man. "Who's got my rope again?" Tried to give it to Bhru or Katigar before the island trip... He says looking up and proferring the shirt to no one in particular as a piece of misdirection.

@GMF The waking from non-lethal unconsciousness in PF seems a bit vague beyond healing and I'm loathe to do that... Any chance I could smack him awake? Cold water schvitz? I'll give him a little flick on the nose to check... Oh and anything else on him?

@Jon: There is another door leaving this room to the south. The party doesn't recognize the man, but in despoiling him and the other dead, you find that they all bear tattoos indicating that they are members of the Lotus Dragons (the thieves guild you're investigating).

@All: not to dissuade your interest in an interrogation, but just a reminder that the party isn't really sure of the extent of the danger, or really where they are, so just keep that in mind.

Forgot to mention that there is another door next to the secret door that you entered through. I have been updating the map as we've been going along.

Beyond the door to the south is a long corridor lined with jail cells along one side. Each cell features a nasty-looking heap of straw, a wooden bucket, and little more. Iron bars close each cell off, with a narrow gate featuring a large lock allowing egress from each. The cells all currently stand empty.

At the far end of corridor is another closed door. From beyond it comes a very foul, very animal, odor.

“Fine strikes, Masters Kellan and Bhru…but the killing stroke…therein lies the rub!”
Phineas challenges the worg!

Challenge:
Once per day, a cavalier can challenge a foe to combat. As a swift action, the cavalier chooses one target within sight to challenge. The cavalier’s melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the cavalier’s level. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level. Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier’s concentration. The cavalier takes a –2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge. The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or un-conscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier’s challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier’s order.

Phineas readies another swing with an air of finality:
slashy-slash: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14
damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10

The party pounces on the wounded worg and your combined strikes quickly overwhelm the creature. With a sigh, it collapses in a smelly heap to the floor. Poking about the room finds plenty of remains of suspicious origin, but nothing of value.

The door to the south is unlocked and beyond is an L shaped corridor which leads to another unlocked door. It opens on another corridor, which turns around a bend to the SE. Another closed door is directly on your left, in the norther end of the hall.

Basically, you can check the door right beside you, or keep following the hallway. This place is a bit of a rat's warren by design.
