Glad to have a bit of an audience, the half-orc clear his throat, and breathes in deeply, before speaking.

"Children of the Sylvan Abyss, hear my plea. A foul force has brought you into this world, but it is not that same energy that needs guide the actions you choose in life. We here come in peace, and seek to destroy this engine that perverts your forms and your newly awakened minds. Would that you could lead us unto this machination - a "Collector" of sorts - that we may render you and your kind free of it's influence hereafter!"

It doesn't help.

Mistress of the Maze

Sorry for the delay I feel asleep

So with your call out you notice one of the leshys working on what appears to be another body on the collector. This guy looks relatively normal expect you all notice that where one of his eyes should be is part of the abyssal relic. He's the guy on the last page on the sheet. Eventually, the body comes to life but disintegrates.

"No. No, no, no, the river pebbles were not a success. Very damp. Needs an adder stone? Yes. Adder stone works. Then they can see everything. Also, not slippery, I can tie the string.

At first, the leshy seems oblivious to the world. Then he turns his head, the jagged chunk of stone in his eye making odd shadows play across his face. “Oh, hello!"

" You all seem kind of friendly though a bit odd. Do you have adder stone or some string?"

Upon contemplating your words he says," Listen I believe your mistaken. I’m restoring the natural order! The forest here is very unnatural. Very strange, sad. The plants are a very strange color, they’re green, the rivers never flow with blood, strange monsters everywhere! Just other day, I saw a thing. Like a rat, with a long, fluffy tail! Burying an acorn in the ground. Very horrifying! And my brother leshy says he saw a thing, four feet and a little white tail, branches on its head. Monsters everywhere! Very disturbing!"

One of the leshys who looks like an fox turned inside stuffed with leaves out head butts the leshy as if to console him.

"So I think—something must be done! It’s unnatural, this place. But I’m only one leshy, so I’m making friends. Together, we’ll make this place work right, proper nature, with eye-mushrooms, and screaming flowers, and snakes! Not these bad snakes, only one head. Very upsetting. Should have sixteen heads! We will fix."

" You will help though? We're friends right? "

Inathel you posit that the rock in his eye is influencing his perspective.

arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
The leshy is quite friendly to you thanks to your performance. Inathel can easily explain to the leshy what is going on with the artifact. I need a nature check and a make a request check.

Since Jolinaxus has clearly made a good impression on the leshy, Olnik let's him take the lead in talking. He does try to assist, by offering, "You know, it looks like you've got a bit o' rock in your eye. Maybe if our wizard friend here inspected it, he'd be able to figure out how to use it to help, uh, you know ... fix the forest."

Diplomacy(Aid): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Olnik is still fairly unhelpful.

You have hero points this isn't a secret check.

Inathel says to the others "I believe the stone is making the leshy believe that they abyss is home." Then, turning to the lead leshy, he says "I believe we can help. My name is Inathel. How are you called?"

The elf wants to take the gem back to Absalom, to the Pathfinder vaults. But it would be a bad idea to try to engage all these corrupted leshys in combat. And he prepared his magic for combat.

To his comrades "It seems as though we must ask the creature to dislodge the object itself." To the creature "My comrade Inathel here believes the stone wrenched in your head weaves a spider's web over your ability to make clear judgement. Coincidentally, he believes that such dangerous sorcery is best kept safe in a Pathfinder Lodge than lodged as it is currently between your eyes. Would you mind to remove it yourself so as to dispel the impression it makes upon your decision-making, and surrender it for safe transport back to Absalom? We mean you no harm friend, and seek to aid you in good spirit."

Dob smiles helpfully. Now this was something he'd never seen before. "I, too, hate it when things look the wrong way. Why, look how colorful and bright my skin is! It should be a dull grey, my hair ash! My friends have the right of it, pluck the strange stone thorn from your eye and hand it over, would make a fine thing to see the world rightly again."

Mistress of the Maze

The leshy at first looks a bit indignant at the request but softens at your comments.

" If you insist I'll trust you with this but I assure you it's just my eye. It may not be squishy like yours but it works just as well.", he says rather plainly.

Upon hearing Inathel's question he says," You know. I never thought about it. Maybe Hew... Oleander is fine. Ooo I know Foxglove. Maybe? What's your thoughts? "

Eventually, you remove the stone successfully and the leshy rubs the spot were the rock was.

Staring at the leshys he created he says,"I may have misinterpreted a few things."

Standing awkwardly for a while the leshy exclaims,"Oppsss..."

"It's alright little one. That stone seems to have been messing with your thoughts." Kaclenna raises her shield. "Should we break it?"

"I think there was talk of studying it. Perhaps if it is examined, someone of greater breadth of knowledge might find a way of preventing any other such thing." Dob says before any rash acts are taken,

So ... that just fixed this one, right? All of his little weird leshies are still ... abyssally-tainted? Is there a check we need to do, because I'm not following our next step here.

Mistress of the Maze

The leshy looks at you and says,"I think we'll be fine now. I do believe it was the rock in my eye influencing us. If you want to ensure that another leshy doesn't get plonked with a rock do what you feel is appropriate."

Eventually, the leshys do start to remove the animal parts from them and return to some semblance of normal at least for leshys. As your preparing to leave one of the leshys comes on over and offers a sword saying,"A treasure for our monsterous saviors."

You've succeeded. The last encounter can be handles nonviolently

"Should we head back and turn this in before it causes anymore troubles?" Kaclenna hopes this stone doesn't attract too much attention on their way back to the lodge.
