Cyne is scrambling through his ideas because he will need more than magic to keep a Goblin from killing a dog, he will need a good excuse, and a creative one.

Yergi responds to Bowen as he raises the pointer finger of his left hand, "Sorry Bowen, I don't really have fire. Undeath doesn't really care for fire."
As he speaks a ray of ice blasts out of his finger towards one of the bloodseekers.

"Ghostbiter, defend the dog! It's of that Haru lady I told you about, he-he might lead us to EDIBLE GHOST WITCHES!
Seeing how the Bloodseekers wouldn't need much work to dispatch, he decided to use his weaker spells to aid in the battle.
"I can still amaze you with my spells!"
Cyne strides and prepares himself to cast. He vocalizes an incantation while moving his hands in front of him, drawing runes with his fingers. The spell manifests as the ghostly head of a dragon that spits fireballs and then dissapears.

Deadly: 1d10 ⇒ 8.
I'm new to the rules of critical hits in Pathfinder 2e, so in a critical hit i double the damage of my strike and i add 1d10 for the deadly tag of my longbow. Does that mean I do 8 + 1d10 damage?

![]() |

@Bowen : yes you would double the damage on the initial attack then add the extra "deadly" die. so total damage done is 16
Bowen's well placed shot explodes the one blood seeker.
Cyne's flame also explodes the the other bloodseeker. You rolled a 20 as well
There is no more threats from the bloodseekers but Peaches is still panicking and wounded.

![]() |

Ok i will make Bowen slowly approach to Peaches, with beef jerky from his rations in hand and try to calm him down with a nature roll.
"Hey there Peaches, its me Bowen, look what i have for you."
The ranger walked slowly at the dog, keeping certain distance to later kneel at him, he was waiting, waiting for peaches to recognize him by his smell and also the smell of the jerky that he gave him previously during their first meeting with haru.

Arak warily studies the dog named peaches, but he knows dealing with it peacefully is not his strong suit...
ANyone with good animal skills?

![]() |

After clearing the bug, you are able to calm down Peaches. After she realizes you are friends she begins to tug at Bowen tunic to follow her in to the woods. The dog leads you to a nearby clearing where you find Haru standing and staring blankly, not responding, as a bloodseeker sucks blood from her neck. Simply attacking the bloodseeker is enough to pop the bloated insect and snap Haru out of her trance.
She stares at you in confusion: “What? Where? Goblins!? The last word is at Ghostbiter and Yergi.

"Miss Haru!"
Cyne is relieved to see the woman safe and sound... at first glance at least.
He turns to Yergi and Ghostbiter, and then at Haru again, nervous.
"No! Don't be afraid! These guys here are my friends! The goblin is Ghostbiter, and Yergi is a..."
Cyne inspects the undead sorcerer and turns to Haru again.
"Look I don't know what Yergi is but he's good!"

![]() |

"I can confirm he is. And I am a dwarf. You, on the other hand, are an half-elf and you seem in dire need of healing. Would you allow us to help you? And after that perhaps you could tell us what transpired here. You mesmerized and your dog attacked by several bloodseekers... how did that happen?" Arak asks

![]() |

Snapping to respond to Arak. "Both my parents are Tain. There is no elf blood in my system. Lasarte is the elven." Then at mentioning her name, Haru, breaks down again. "She is missing? Is she alive? Where?" Peaches goes over to comfort Haru. The Tain woman continues to no one in particular. "Lasarte and her golden armor. Always making a show. And enemies as well" She trails off while petting Peaches.

![]() |

Bowen just hold haru from her shoulder in order to cease her advance, his face showed a grim expression as he spoke with a tone of dissaproval on the Tian woman for just trailing off.
"Haru could you please stop? You almost got killed by a Stirge, you can't just go into the woods again like that. About Lasarte, We found her belongings not far from here including that golden armor that you mentioned, but we didn't found her. Probably she has been abducted to somewhere else but i think she must be injuried, i found trails of blood in the trees."
Bowen was not very optimistic, he didn't discarded the idea that Probably Lasarte is already death, but he was not that blunt to just speak that thought openly.
"Now, you can do one of two things; Go alone tired, weakened by bloodloss and die at the hands of whatever is in the forest apart fo the bloodseekers. Or... you can work together with us and have more chances to save Lasarte."
Bowen probably would not get a good response of haru for saying this, but he was firm and frank about what he had to say, he din't wanted her or Peaches to get themselves killed because of Haru's desperation.

![]() |

Haru calms again. "Yes, we should do what we can. For me that is not much. I found some hidden path to something deeper underground, but I am not in any condition to go down there. I can show you" She rummages in her bag and hold out a cold iron dagger and two vials of holy water. "Not sure what you may find down there, but best to be prepared for anything"

I'm very sorry for the delay, i had been busy with other things that i forgot to keep track on this, by the way, can i keep the Cold Iron Dagger? I'm fine giving the flasks of Holy water to anyone who wants it.
"Thank you Haru and take care, if we find Lasarte i'm going to make sure she comes back with you safely."
Bowen took the holy water and the cold iron dagger and stored it inside of his backpack(If anyone including the dm agree with that),and said farewell to the Tianese Scholar.
Once inside of the Cave, the ranger began to look at Ghostbiter inspecting the rocks, he got closer and also began to examine the rocky walls.

The ranger strode next to Arak and took cover behind a rocky corner and watched a blue skinned creature that looked like a Goblin.
"What are those things? They look like Ghostbiter but with blue skin!"
Considering the situation, probably that creature is giving the alarm to the rest of his people, that was not good for the team because more will be coming, and Bowen was going to silence him for good.

My turn! Ok, Bowen is too close of the mitfit to get a clean shot, so i'm going to unsheath my sword(it costs an action if i'm not wrong), move Bowen towards the red squared Mitflit that is engaging Arak as my second action and make a melee strike at him.
Bowen had problems with his marksmanship with those narrow spaces in the cave, he looked how Ghostbiter squashed the big Bloodseeker and could hear his friend Cyne talking about his "great hermean conjuring", then he could see a giant Centipede with glowing runes on his exoesqueleton appear from the opposite side. Bowen, could guess that it was work of his friend and in a playful tone of voice spoke to wizard.
"Hey Cyne, you could only summon a Giant Centipede? No offense, but for all that previous boistering I was expecting something else, like a Firebreathing Cockatrice. Anyway, i'll leave that flank to you and your Big Bug."
