| Halders Isgood |
Halders winces, as if he was expecting the worst for Ludvic. After the echoes dissipate he lets out the breath he was holding, grins up at everyone, pats himself down and collects the stray dagger.
"Alright me muckers, everyone in one piece? Lets get movin"
Ragnar Barrowheim

Ragnar grumps and shakes his head. "Carefully now. We do not know what else is down here. This deal we made is just getting worse and worse. We have to be in one piece to collect our pay."The old dwarf continues to mutter under his breath in dwarven with snatches of "...should have demanded an advance..." and "..should have drawn up a proper contract.." audible.
| Galessa |
Galessa thought about it. She had it in her for one more spell, and both she and Ludvic were hurt. The selfless part of her said heal him. But...the electric shock hurt! And pain was not something she enjoyed. Then she remembered...Ragnar was a Cleric!
”Hey, Grumpbeard. Can’t clerics, like...heal everyone around them? Me and Ludvic got zapped back there. Can you make the burns go away?”
| Halders Isgood |
It was already evening when you all entered here so you are able to head back to the inn for the night and restart the next morning or push on.
I'm all for moving on. Halders is just a lazy git and would sleep on the stone floor, though say the word 'coin' and he's on his feet again.

Galessa harumped as she used the last of her magic. ”And now I’m tapped out. I wonder who will heal you now that I can’t?” She said, clearly unhappy.
| Halders Isgood |
"'how'bouts we see whats in the nex' room. Then, ifn needed, we can have a kip an a meal on the posh Lady's coin. Come back, hale and 'earty in the morning."
Halders reaches for the door and stops his arm out.
"I almost forgot meself- after you Ludvic"
He bows low, arms sweeping toward the door in an obsequious gesture.
| Galessa |
”Sorry Ludvic, I’m tapped out. If we rest up, I can heal your wounds in the morning. We’re not in a rush, right? Best to patch up before moving on, lest we regret it later.”
Ragnar Barrowheim
|
Ragnar glares at Halders."As long as no one breaks into another strongbox." He looks around at the rest of the party."I would prefer resting at the inn. Between banishing the ghosts, the previous healings, and bringing down Abadar's blsssing in that last fight I am just about spent. Once we are somewhere safe for the night I can spread some more of his healing amongst all of us. Until then it should be kept ready for an emergency. Also we can hit a market if we need any supplies for tomorrow. I don't know about you but having a warm meal and a soft bed sounds the best to me. This heap of rubble is not going anywhere."
| Halders Isgood |
Halders opens an eye- he saw Galessa's unrolling a bedroll as a signal to bunk down and was already in a corner getting ready for a sleep, leaning against his own bedroll.
"Eh? proper beds? I'd be well up for that- but... well. We don't want any uver people gettin ideas'bout looting this place while we're sleepin. Thats our job... Maaybe we sleep 'ere tonight an go find an inn next time."
He winks at the dwarf; "course, unless you need a fluffy bed for your old-dwarf bones or somfin- can't stand the stone floors. Its not like you was born of stone or nuffin"
| Shondra Demarkus |
Shondra looks around, then decides that they are apparently spending the night here. "I'll take a middle watch," she offers. "I have no magics to prepare."
Ragnar Barrowheim
|
Ragnar just shakes his head and steps to the middle of the group. He murmurs a soft prayer and again a pulse of golden light as the soft clink of coins emanates out from him. Ludvic's wounds from the fight lessen. (Any other's wounds as well of course).

Ragnar shares around the cheese and jerky from his pack with the rest of the party and attends to his morning prayers. After 'camp' is broken he seems to be in less of a cantankerous mood, only grumbling slightly. "Alright , let us see where these damn kobolds came from, and see if we can find that wizard. Abadar willing we will even find some coin or other valuables to return to the economy. There has to be more down here than a couple of knives." He readies his cross bow and loads it, ready to shoot anything hostile on the other side of the door when it is opened.
Ragnar is preparing Detect Magic, Create Water, Bless, and Floating Disk for spells.
| Ludvic Hearthrend |
He stretches a bit as the holy light helps to close his wounds.
”Nothing a good nights sleep didn’t take care of. I’ll lead the way into the next section of the place. Any one need to take care of something before we head inside? Faster we get out of here the faster I can get a real nights sleep in a bed.”
| Halders Isgood |
The halfling snorts as he is roused.
"Oi oi muckers, we off already? By Abadar, what sorta unearfly hour is this?"
Looking around Halders' sees everyone ready to go. He grins sheepishly and' hastily packs up his belongings, digging into his pack for dried meat and a handful of coffee beans into his mouth.
"this'll do- alright, ready ready"
After ludvic attempts to open the door Halders will examine it and the area around it.

Ragnar Barrowheim

Ragnar shakes his head and glowers at Halders. "Nice of you to join us. Instead of poking around, do you have a prybar to help get the door open?He nods to Galessa "This is young folk work. Let them get on with it unless we can all haul on it somehow. Does anyone have any climbing gear?"
Ragnar Barrowheim
|
We will take 20 with everyone assisting with Halders or Ludvic main.
"All right everyone get a hand on this, all together now! Pull!"
Using some rope and a couple of daggers, the party heaves and strains against the stuck door for a few minutes.
| Halders Isgood |
Probably Ludvic as main, good idea to use the daggers to help wedge the door free
Halders chips away at the swollen door, wedging a couple of blades into the gaps. Nodding, he'll move back, letting those with a bit of muscle do the ard work.
"Go to it, then."

You're able to spend some time bashing and chipping away at the door eventually managing to get it open.
There can be little doubt what purpose this chamber once served. The dank room stores an ancient rack, a fanciful brazen bull, an iron maiden, a cauldron, iron chairs with sharp edges and cruel protuberances, and a wooden table upon which sit various implements of torture. A bronze plaque affixed to the western wall depicts a crowing rooster above crossed spears. Underneath the spears, a short phrase is inscribed.
Can you make a DC 15 will save please, if failed move up and sit down in one of the chairs.
| Halders Isgood |
Halders follows Ludvic into the room, looking around and letting our a long whistle; "Abadar's brass balls, thisn' place gives me the shivers"
As Ludvic finds a chair to sit in;
"Oi, mucker- who are you talking to?
Hangabout- this place is creepy, you sure you wanna sit there?"
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Halders is slightly concerned and focuses his perception check on the chair and the surrounding area. He'll examine the room for loot later.

Ragnar visibly shudders at the scene behind the door. "We have found two torture chambers in this place so far. What sort of accursed place was this tower?"He frowns as he looks around and searches the room for loot and signs of recent passing. He pauses mid-search and glares at Ludvic. "What do you mean you are tired? You just woke up! Are you sure you are feeling ok?"
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

”Grumpbeard is right. No place should have even one torture chamber, let alone two! Whatever happened here was...” She struggled to find a word that could encapsulate the depravity of the tower. ”...evil! Or something like that. And we already saw one ghost already. Nobody should wander off in here.”

As Ludvic sits down on the chair he cuts himself.

Once he's sat down a raven suddenly appears in the room, it speaks to you all in a shrill voice.
“Greetings, fine citizens of our glorious empire! So good to have visitors, though I fear I have no refreshments to offer. I assume you are here for the treasure. Well, I’d be happy to assist, provided that you give me what I require! It has been so long since I was able to ply my trade. I require only that each of you shed your life’s blood in this room — simply take a seat in one of my lovely chairs.”
Ravens picture is on the side of the map, he's currently resting on the rooster plaque (blue dot).
