nice to meet you!
Kaxatja
Looks like Lyra'an and Brevka are nominally damage dealers, (though I imagine Brevka might have a spell or two and Lyra might sneak); Lilamma is our battery of awesomeness. I'm not sure what Anabel's capabilities are. Kaxatja is kind of a weak fighter, hoping to use the net with some efficacy...
That's all very meta, and I'm not sure we know each other, nor have any idea of "teamwork" as yet.
Anabel Imvara
Anabel is very much a support character. She can grant teamwork feats to the group, is great at aiding another, and will load up on buff and healing spells. She's a decent shot with a bow but will never do a lot of damage, as her Strength is atrocious. :)
Also: nice to see you here, Cwethan! I enjoyed playing with you as Deidre and Hayden in the Summerwood game. :)
Brevka, Princess of the North
Well hi again Brainy! Somehow I expect that even in the midst of Drow intrigue and blood-spattered sand we'll have a less screwed up relationship between this pair - too bad we didn't get to really see that thing explode :-p
Whether or not we've really worked together in character, Brevka's visibly a big ole tanky frontliner - the magic stuff won't reallykick in for a few levels, and even then the Bloodrager list isn't that broad in its utility.
That said, I'm very curious to see how far into our new lives we are; I purposefully left off my backstory with Brevka being captured just in case :-)
Also, hello Escharid! Looking forward to gaming with you on this side of the GM screen!
Lyra'an
My plan for level 2 is to take the Rogue Talent that lets me MAXIMIZE sneak attack a number of times per day if I conceal my weapon during the surprise round, at which point I'll have about +13 to sleight of hand so..
And at level 3 I go dex to damage, so yeah definitely shooting to be a quick and deadly style
Lilamma Malphé
I Don't have much plans so far for the next levels. I just wanna have fun.

Alrighty! Now that everyone's here, I'd like to ask you all a fairly important question.
I originally intended to run this campaign with a more mature audience in mind. To that end, I want to know: what level of detail are you comfortable with regarding violence and suggestive themes? Are there things you'd rather I leave out?
Kaxatja
Mature is fine, but I would draw the line at gratuitous or sensationalised violence or sexual violence. I think there might be grey areas for what each person thinks is “appropriate” but given the oppressive subject matter I’m sure it is not for the squeamish.
Lyra'an
I'm good with your interpretation of mature. In essence, embracing the Spartacus theme and letting the drow be drow would be fine with me. As long as no one puts us in arena full of toddlers or something, I'm fine.
That and I agree on the sexual violence beyond certain lines, Kuthonite non-withstanding. Not malicious I guess
Anabel Imvara
I'm debating which bonus teamwork feat to take for my tribal cooperation ability. I'm deciding between Shake it Off, Stick Together, or Swap Places. Which do you think would be the most useful for our party?
Also, I have family visiting in town this week. I won't be able to post much, if at all, except for in the early mornings until Saturday or Sunday.

Fine with mature, as long as no fluffy innocent kittens are harmed.
You Don't choose Zon Kuthon as a god if you're not ready for violence
Brevka, Princess of the North
Spartacus: Blood on the Sand is probably a bit more gratuitous than is really appropriate for the boards (particularly when it comes to sexual content), but that's kind of the compass I was expecting when I applied so...
I guess here are my personal comfort level bulletpoints:
*Drow gonna drow, and I expect them to be violent and cruel. The big thing is that I would hope that if we're put into a really awful situation where they want us to (for example) harm a fluffy innocent kitten, that narratively speaking it's expected that we might not go along with it, rather than just getting instantly executed etc. for showing defiance. Fluffy innocent kittens here really mean anyone who's essentially helpless, where we're not so much battling them as murdering them. I'm fine being pitted up against some hapless innocent who's not a challenge as long as I can try to help them put up a good enough fight to get a thumbs up (or whatever translation/variant of the pollice verso we end up using) for example.
*Written descriptions of violence have to be prrreeettty extreme before I'm actively uncomfortable. Keep it south of American Psycho and I'm all good.
*I'd prefer to leave sexual violence out of the campaign. **cough**This doesn't mean li'l miss masochist can't have fun **cough**
*Power dynamics that would be inherently problematic in romantic relationships I'm more okay with given the genre. After all, (Drawing from things like Spartacus or Gladiator) Brevka's built to be able to have a noble in the stands become fascinated with her from afar.
*It sounds like we're all within the margin of error of each other on these topics. As long as we have an X-Card style system it's all good by me.
Also, Shake It Off is pretty great...
Lyra'an
That all sounds about right. Part of why Lyra'an didn't so much mind the brothel initially, as badass as she can be she's got a thing for powerful women....something that goes a long way in a society like the drow.
Also a fun fact since she can genuinely scare most people (leave a bunch of people shaken with a single glare) while secretly biting her lip when a real alpha walks into the room.
The Storytelling Cat
Alright--general consensus is violence and lewd content are fine (within personal limits), and sexual violence is right out. Completely on board. :)
Would you prefer private messaging or spoilers or something else?

My preference'd be for spoilers unless there's a scene people really want to do that's past the table's threshold of comfort.
Otherwise I want to read it too! :-p

::Mentally bumps figuring out what kind of kink Brevka might be into farther up her character checklist::
Also, could we get the Gameplay thread open for dotting? Just so I can track the thread more easily :-)

Spoilers is fine. I remember the original campaign as being fairly lewd and lascivious...

Ha! And of course, drafting something in your alias and chickening out before fading to black is always an option too :-p

I loved American Psycho, both the book and the movie.
Fifty shades of Grey is "meh" for me. If not downright hilarious sometimes. I read only the first book, it was so badly written…

Thankies! ^^

@Anabel Hopefully we'll be with this campaign for a goodly bit. One day shouldn't make too much of a difference :-)
@Lilamma Oh I liked the book (and the movie more tbh), but if this campaign were commonly going to the level of some of the more involved fantasy chapters in that novel, it'd detract from my enjoyment rather than enhance it.
I won't get into my fuller feelings on my issues with 50 Shades, but... yeah yeesh. The writing is bad enough :-p
@Kaxatja My impression on Drider size is that despite being large creatures, they've ranged across editions from 6-8' or so in height. As Brevka's a beefy 6'6" I'm curious where Kaxie winds up.
Oh also, since x and j can be pronounced really differently, do you have a pronunciation for Kaxatja? Brevka's likely to try to give her a nickname, and the phonetics would be useful.
Kaxatja

Pronunciation is Kax-szatya.
If Brevka is tusky, she might pronounce it Kaksh'Szatya, though for ease of typing Zatya or Kax as a nickname will do. I leave it entirely up to you how Brevka pro- or mispronounces it. Kaxie is pretty cute.
As for height, I would think 8' is a good starting point, but remember Kaxatja is super spindly until her thorax/body start, and her drow part is lithe and whipcord rather than muscly or bulky. She might stand over folks, but hates doorways...Her levels of drawing room or boudoir intrigue might be hampered somewhat...

A question about Performance Combat: the base bonus is Bab and Rank in perfom competence, not the bonus to the skill?
For example, I got +0 Bab, 1 rank in Dance, with a +8 modifier, but my Perform-Combat total is 0 for Bab and 1 for dance, so +1 total?

Well one of the tropes of a gladiatorial campaign are the specialty matches.
I bet Lyra'an could get the Drow to see the funny side of her vs a half dozen humans with only a single casting of dancing lights that keeps moving away from them...
Kaxatja
It's a Charisma ability check that's modified by your Base Attack Bonus and ranks in Perform (Act/Comedy/Dance) skill. With a +2 if you're using a Performance weapon.
So in your case it'd be a total of +7.
Oh. Kaxatja has a +0 BAB, +0 Cha mod and 1 rank in Perform. So...+1? Or is our Style weapon counted as a Performance Weapon? Trident and net?
Where do I use my Perform (Combat) skill at +6?

FYI: Monday's are the day that I will almost always be incommunicado for a while. I should still be able to hop on towards the end of the day though :-)
