This time Sparkles does not get out of the way in time and take the brunt of the blast. "Well that isn't too nice very sporting, so it looks like we are going to have to do this the hardway"
The Vesk moves in holding a battery on his bandolier and then his fist crackles again. With the energized fist, he strikes the bear.

Buscador's telekinetic projectile glances off of the bear's face, drawing blood. Sunny forms her weapon and rushes into the room. The bear strikes her as she approaches and cuts her deeply. "For Oord!" the bear projects psychically.
Professor Sparkles moves in to engage but he misses the alien bear.
Lightfoot moves in to engage the bear, but his blade is rebuffed by the armor and thick hide of the bear.

Delea moves out of the hall and fires at the ursine swordsman. However, the bear nimbly dodges the shot while fending off the other assaults.
The bear warrior turns his attention to the smallest of his foes--Lightfoot--forgoing the advantage of focusing his attacks. The blade strikes hard into the ysoki's shoulder, frighteningly close to his neck.
Delea notices just in time a vaguely human-appearing woman with devilish horns arrive from down the hall and jumps out of the way of a sudden rush of scalding hod air.

Buscador sends a wrench flying at the bear, but it misses as he tries to aim through his companions. Lightfoot has no better luck, barely tapping the bear's armor once. Sunny finds her swing easily parried.
Professor Sparkles fares far better, releasing the electrical torrent into the ursine warrior. The bear's fur stands on end for a moment and a little smoke rolls off of the EVA suit. The bear growls.

Using the power of her mind, Delea flings a piece of debris at her attacker, then seeks the company of her allies.
Delea's telekinetically directed piece of debris flies wide of the ursine swordsman.
The swordsman turns his blade back down toward Lightfoot. The powerful blow rattles the ysoki's cage. "Oord is the source of might!" shouts the bear.
A third man shows up from down the hall. "All hail the might of Oord! These non-believers have the spines of cuttle fish!" Lightfoot feels a sense of dread welling up in the back of his mind.
"Ha ha! I will take them down!" the tiefling cackles, stepping over to the doorway and releasing two translucent missiles--one at Professor Sparkles and one at Lightfoot.

"Your assistance is greatly appreciated, good Buscador." declares Lightfoot in response to his ally's healing power.
As he feels his wounds fade away, Lightfoot strikes with renewed vigor.
"Oord may be a source of might, but the Dawnflower is a source of light! Her rays shine within me and though this mortal vessel may fall, her divine rays cannot be extinguished!"
Despite the strength of his words, his blade slightly waivers.
Sensing his ally is growing in intensity, the ysoki cautiously steps back from his foe.
Sunny's glowing blade cleaves open the bear's chest, and the warrior falls to the ground.
"His death proves he was not a true believer!" the human shouts at the tiefling. "Midori! Fight to the death!"
Buscador mends Lightfoot's more life-threatening injuries with mystical power.

When the bear drops, Lightfoot turns his attention toward the tiefling in the doorway.

Despite Sparkles' technomancy, the two pirates manage to keep their footing.
The tiefling is able to deflect a portion of Delea's mental assault but not the ysoki's blade. She tries to cautiously move to a safer location in the hall, but her feet slip and she cannot move. Frustrated, she draws a dueling sword from her belt.
The human cackles behind the mask, draws a grenade, and tosses it right into your midst where it explodes.

That's IT Solis exclaims, feeling a bit burnt, and splatted with blood - some of it hers - and very angry I'm gonna EXPLODE in your FACE
At least that was her plan until she realises Lightfoot is in the doorway. So she moves next to him and takes a swipe at the tiefling with her solar weapon ((She may be crazy but she's not stupid)) - and feeling really frustrated that she still can't supernovae.

Sunny moves forward as Lightfoot moves out of the way and slices into the tiefling, nearly taking off an arm.
Delea tries to fires her pistol through the doorway but hits the bulkhead.
Professor Sparkles takes a more careful shot and hits the tiefling right between the eyes, dropping her.
Buscador flings a tray out the door and slams it into the masked human's head. "Hey!"
"Feel the wrath of Oord!" the remaining cultist shouts as he expertly tosses another grenade into your midst. It explodes but was not apparently made to standards.

Delea manages to dodge some of the shrapnel and then fires at the remaining cultist. Her laser strikes, but his armor absorbs it all. Sunny waits for Sparkles to dismiss the oil coating the floor and then steps forward. She immolates and releases a wave of solar energy, which the captain fails to avoid at all.
Buscador tosses some debris into the hall. Lightfoot moves to prevent the man's escape.
The masked human drops his pistol and draws a massive sledge from behind his back, bringing it down toward Lightfoot. The agile ysoki dances out of the way. The hammer clangs upon the floor loudly.

Sparkles moves into the hall and overloads the cultist with a powerful charge of electricity. It seems that the captain was bluffing as, following this display of powerful technomancy, he drops his weapons and raises his hands. He pleads, "I surrender!"

Solis starts to power down her attunement but still has her solar weapon out on case the captain tries something stupid.
I accept your surrender she says. Just don't try anything stupid ... okay? And we'll take you with us. And if that's all you wanted, all you hadda do was ask politely. So, why are you here?

As the healing energy passes over her, she shivers in pleasure - that felt really good.
"The great god, Oord, master of machines sent me a vision of a derelict ship in the Drift," the man answers. "He warned me that there was an artifact of great power, and that the Triunite hegemony would be on its way to secure it and strengthen their heretical grip on the universe. We were sent to find the artifact before Triune's minions."

"As you appear to have surmised, we too were sent to find an artifact of unknown nature. Also, as you seem to have reasonably concluded, we were sent on behalf of the followers of Triune." Lightfoot notes, sheathing his blade. "However, your quest does not explain why you chose to attack us. It would seem that the uncovering of the mystery of whatever object of interest may be contained within this vessel is within the interest of us all."
The white-haired ysoki strokes a few of the whiskers on his chin before suggesting, "If you and your companions, who I am hopeful my fellow Starfinder, Delea, is capable of reviving, will refrain from violence and work in cooperation with us, then perhaps we could plumb this mystery together, whether among the taithful of Oord, the faithful of Weidan, the faithful of Triune, the faithful of Sarenrae, or among those of any faith or those no faith, alike."
"I will not resist you any longer. Your might is greater than mine," the cultist says, "But I will not help you."
The other two are dead as door nails.
Hidden among the crates in this room, Buscador finds an unsecured data pad. The last entry by the science officer reads: "We’ve activated the anti-boarding barriers. Unfortunately with the ship in the state it’s in, I doubt our systems will hold out much longer."
Earlier entries report moving several collected samples to the medical bay for additional testing and that a few of those tests on the materials had caused small explosions.
