This will cause your character to show up under the character tab, and the campaign to show up under the campaigns tab of your profile (which is the easiest place to look to see if any of your campaigns have new posts).
If you haven't filled in your chronicle info (above), please do so now.

Unfortunately Bilimi is Untrained in Culture and it is a trained skill.
There's an exception, perfect for this occasion:
Recall Knowledge
You can use certain skills to recall knowledge about specific topics. The topics a given skill relates to are detailed in the individual skill descriptions. A successful skill check allows you to answer questions about the topic in question. You can attempt untrained skill checks to recall knowledge if the DC is 10 or less. You can take 20 on this check, but only if you have a means of researching, such as access to an information network or downloaded data set (see page 430); this typically takes 2 minutes.

I'll be slotting:

Slotless: Marked Field Agent

Only Acquisitives champion as well.

Can we switch "targets" or do we have to keep buttering up the same ones? I don’t have Culture, so I’m done with Ykris…
If we can switch, I’m going after Zo! with a Sense Motive.
And if we can switch, can we use the same skill someone else already succeeded at?
| GM Wolffauer |
You can switch targets each round. You can team up and assist someone, and you can re-use the same skill, though it will be harder. Additional sense motive successes can reveal more skills which will work as well. (Edit: except for Zo! - Dariox got all of them)
DuQuesne
|
I hope you don’t mind if I metagame this minigame a bit. We can rationalize it as the characters having been exchanging intel about the targets while they move around, using their comm units.
What we know so far and what has been tried:
Iteration-177: stories of your missions (Diplomacy) or rumors of the Society's future plans (Culture)
Royo: You feel that someone who can keep up with the topics (Life Science) will impress him.
Ykris: gossip about the Society (Culture) or detailed discussion of augmentations (Medicine)
Naiaj: would be impressed with demonstrations of competence in the field (Computers, Piloting).
Zo!: on the lookout for action stars (Acrobatics, Athletics, feint via Bluff, and showy displays with a weapon (attack roll) )
Best odds:
Culture x2: Dariox +6
Life Science: no one
Piloting: DuQuesne +8, Dariox +7, Nadia +5, Marbles +3
Athletics: Marbles +4, DuQuesne +2, Nadia +2
Bluff: DuQuesne +6, Dariox +4, Marbles +3, Nadia +1
Attack roll: DuQuesne/Marbles +4 (Tactical Plasma Bolter), Bilimi +3 (tactical baton), Dariox +3 (bruiser decoupler), Nadia +1 (laser pistol/club)
| GM Wolffauer |
I encourage it. With Nadia back, you'll have fewer actions to reach the goals.
Captain Marbles
|
I’m thinking I may continue with Zo! Marbles is not a Ysoki of many skills. So if I were to do weapons am I telling a story or am I discharging a firearm at the banquet lol.
| GM Wolffauer |
With weapons you are doing some sort of showy display (a trick shot, a kata, etc.) Anyone can reuse a skill that was successful, but the second (or third) time will be harder.
Don't forget you can team up, with one person rolling the skill and the other aiding (typical aid another).
Bilimi "BeeSting"
|
Bilimi doesn't have any helpful skills right now. Unless there is more Sense Motives to be done.
DuQuesne
|
Another Sense Motive on Royo might help Nadia on her last round. Maybe he also likes engineering or computers...
| GM Wolffauer |
You've got all you can get from Royo (related professions may also work).
Iteration-177 still has options to learn about (as does Naiaj).
Dariox
|
Dariox is a novel writer, with a handful of her books having been published physically as well as electronically.
| GM Wolffauer |
Cool. I wanted to check and see if there were any connections there you could use (none in this case though).
DuQuesne
|
I'll wait for someone to Sense Motive on Iteration-177.
I'm stretched out on all my other possibilities for the 3 NPCs suggested by Luwazi, maybe he'll have something else I can try.
DuQuesne
|
Skills related to each NPC, successes x failures
Iteration-177
Diplomacy (2 x 0), Culture (1 x 1)
Royo
Life Science (1 x 0), Culture (0 x 1), Mysticism, Physical Science (1 x 0)
Ykris
Culture, Medicine (2 x 0), Life Science
Naiaj
Computers (0 x 1), Piloting (0 x 2), Engineering
Zo!
Acrobatics (1 x 1), Athletics (0 x 2), Bluff, Attack Roll (0 x 1)
Our best odds:
Iteration-177: all equally spent
Royo: Mysticism > Life Science, Culture, Physical Science
Ykris: Culture, Life Science
Going against orders-ish:
Naiaj: Engineering > Computers
Definitely going against orders:
Zo!: Bluff > Attack Roll
| GM Wolffauer |
For Zo! you got two attack failures and only one athletics failure.
I don't think it gives away anything to say that your goal for each is four successes.
DuQuesne
|
I don't think it gives away anything to say that your goal for each is four successes.
We are in the dog house then - we can probably conquer Iteration-177 and perhaps Ykris (worst case scenario, I'll try a third Medicine on him).
Do failures take away successes?
And the DC goes up even after a failed attempt?
| GM Wolffauer |
Failures do not count against successes, nor do they affect the the DC. Too many failures and they will stop listen to you. Successes increase the DC of using the same skill.
Nadia Tera
|
Can someone give me an aid in Engineering with Naiaj? With my plus 9 I am pretty sure we can do it.
| GM Wolffauer |
You've got two more rounds (7 & 8) plus whatever Bilimi does in round 6. For it to be worth going after Naiaj, you need four successes. You are probably better off getting one more on Iteration-177 and going for two more on Royo and/or Ykris.
Nadia Tera
|
Hmm. In that case it seems like just trying to do physical science twice more with Royo is my best bet to help. I don't really have anything for the others.
| GM Wolffauer |
Okay, you've learned all you can from Sense Motive. There are a few other ways to influence some of them, but they require specific professions or character experiences which I don't think you have.
You are down to the final two rounds - 10 shots at success. Plan it right and you should finish Iteration-177, Royo and Ykris. With friendlier dice you could get one of the others as well.
Good luck!
Nadia Tera
|
Naiaj still makes the most sense for my skill set in particular but I obviously can't get up to 4 successes on my own. Should I try Physical Science with Royo again despite the penalty? I don't have more than a +2 for anything else. Anyone need an aid attempt? I could do that.
DuQuesne
|
Should I try Physical Science with Royo again despite the penalty?
Go for it, I got two success repeating skills, and my bonuses were the same or only slightly better.
| GM Wolffauer |
Down to the last three actions. You've got Iteration-177 and Royo finished. Dariox and Bilimi (x2) Good luck!
