Mr Teeny opens the door. Seeing a passageway he moves to investigate. At the center of this room is a pit of flame, suffusing the area with
a faint glow. A single passageway leads to the southeast.

GM Ietsuna |

Ijo knows that this is likely a tomb. The departed individual/s are honored with an everburning flame, the brazier of which reads, May
This Light Illuminate the Forests of the Night.

GM Ietsuna |

Mr Teeny thinks that there is something off about this room. Is it getting dimmer in here?

![]() |

Looks like a dead end otherwise eh? (the passage to the southeast is the one we can through?
The Professor glances into the room with the brazier.
"Brazier? Boring! Back to the central room then, eh?"
Marked 'here' for the next area to go into unless something happens in the brazier room?

![]() |

"seems like it got a little dimmer in here. Does anyone else want to have a look around, I don't see anything wrong here."

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
"Hrm. Something strange about this room, you have that right." Kalten frowns as he inspects the area.

GM Ietsuna |

Moving around the room and looking Kalten passes close by the brazier.
The entire room plunges into darkness. Will saves please

![]() |

Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
"Irori watch over your humble servant." Kalten offers the prayer up as he watches for the source of the danger.

![]() |

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

GM Ietsuna |

Ok, Mr Teeny and Omar, you are shaken. Putting us into initiative... just because.
Mr Teeny: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Professor F: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Zzorn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Kalten: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Omar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Ijo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

GM Ietsuna |

It is pitch black.... not even dark vision can penetrate the darkness. Ijo has no idea what is going on.

![]() |

If what is happening what I think is happening then I imagine I did not exceed the DC to "notice" the thing. In which case, Ijo will retreat from the room.

GM Ietsuna |

Ijo attempts to leave the room, but the door does not open.

![]() |

Zzorn pulls out the wolf figure.

![]() |

Being wary of what be happening and not being able to see, Mr Teeny will double move at half back to the way he entered the room.

GM Ietsuna |

You feel wind on your faces and hear rustling leaves and running water.
A bark rings out and the room comes to light. You are inside a cavern. Ahead of you spans a cavern. Acrobatics check to cross.

![]() |

I'm confused... are we in another cavern or is this what we see on the map just with the darkness cancelled? anyways... it sounds like the wolf figure thing had an effect! I'm guessing you also meant to write 'ahead of you spans a bridge' yes?
Zzorn sees the bridge and forges ahead!
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

GM Ietsuna |

There is no bridge. The room went black to the extent that not even dark vision works, then there was a bark and you see that you are in a cavern with a chasm ahead of you. I am more than happy to discuss what this is once we are past it. Zzorn, I respect you as a GM and would value your take on it.
Ijo and Zzorn both jump and land on the opposite side and the darkness returns. After a moment another bark rings through the air. You see a fast-flowing river and a nearby log that is large enough to serve as a bridge across. You think that this log could serve as a bridge. Knowledge Engineering or Strength to move the log into position

![]() |

Whatever this is it's bloody cool and I feel like listening to Metallica now!
Strength!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

GM Ietsuna |

Zzorn and Ijo again manage to defeat the obstacle and as the log is put in place darkness falls again. Your heart beats once, twice, thrice then again a bark rings out this time is sounds like it is coming from above.
A sheer rock wall comes into view. Some parts could possibly be handholds, but you are unsure. Climb checks to scale the wall

![]() |

Ijo pants as he reaches the wall. This is too much. I don't know if I can make it.
climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Ijo feebly attempts to climb the wall.

![]() |

Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
"Yer doing fine, just need a little help. Endure and Renew, friend." Kalten offers a hand as he scales the wall with dwarven grit and determination.

GM Ietsuna |

Kalten climbs to the top of the rock face and the darkness descends once again. After a moment the room returns to normal light and you are back inside the room with the brazier.

![]() |

"Ha! that was a most bracing experience! let us now learn the history behind this room!"
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

GM Ietsuna |

Zzorn sees that this is the resting place of a prominent member of the Quah. They are shown in their prime hunting in the forest with a wolf beside them.

![]() |

Zzorn looks for a slot or indentation in the shape of the wolf's head token.
"That is most magnificent. Man alongside wolf. Two noble creatures fighting together along the ages. Praise Kurgess!"

GM Ietsuna |

There does appear to be a place for the token there. As Zzorn sets it down you feel that something within the room has been put to rest as you receive a vision of a young Shoanti hunter sitting atop a cliff overlooking a sprawling forest. A massive wolf lies next to him, head on her paws. The hunter and the wolf get up and turn to walk away as the sun rises, bathing the forest in its orange glow. The vision fades.
Haunt has been dispelled. 1 more success for you all. PDK did you still want to talk about what happened?

Sure you can PM me if you want, or here if you can share with others. Very cool scene and rarely seen in modules these days. If it wasn't for Ijo going boldly forward I might have stepped back out of that dark room but he gave me courage lol.

![]() |

The Professor rubs his eyes and slumps to the ground, panting and exhausted.
"I.. err, can't quite believe it, but that was..."
He smacks his lips like he's about to pass out from thirst.
"Exhilarating! Fascinating, really! It seems there was some sort of angry spirit here and Zzorn here's perhaps put it to rest at last?"
Religion (to know more?): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

This is the tomb of Silent Footsteps, a Lyrune-Quah hunter who roamed the forests of his people alongside his wolf companion, Hunts at Night. Stealthy and precise, Silent Footsteps’s skills are renowned, and many Lyrune-Quah youth learn techniques pioneered by him. When Hunts at Night died, her remains were stored within a wolf cub statue and kept in the Muschkal Sepulcher. Silent Footsteps followed many years later after a lifetime of teaching the art of the hunt, and he was buried in this room, honored with an everburning flame, the brazier of which reads, May This Light Illuminate the Forests of the Night. Hunts at Night was moved to accompany Silent Footsteps here—companions in eternal rest.
Do you want to spend a few more moments soaking in this room, or move on?

![]() |

Yeah... Zzorn is feeling zen right now... he'll hang out.
Zzorn kneels down and sits cross-legged, laying his sword across his lap. He closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths. Relaxed, he opens his eyes once more and stares into the brazier's flames, hoping his companions will show some reverence as well.
Zzorn then goes into silent prayer and reflects on the man and wolf friends.

![]() |

Omar will stop shaking, hopefully and appreciates the legacy of the room.
Glorious! he bows in respect then chants from memory.
Grey wolves
march through dark rows
of trees twisted with green moss
and many years
of compounded age.
Padded paws
glide through tufts
of grass free and wild,
the pack marches
to the top of rocky overlook.
Mustard yellow
coats the lupine adorers,
howling madly to their patron
through their starry night
filled with frost and feral festivities.
From a Bard 'Kushnir' I met once in Magnamar.

![]() |

Ijo takes a moment to gather his strength, he slumps in the corner with Najam and takes a rest if the others are intent to explore and experience the space.

![]() |

When the lights return, Mr Teeny will wander back into the room to find out what was going on. He will give the others a moment for reverance then move on to the next area.
He will glance at the stairs, if they continue on He will take the stairs, otherwise he will check this door for traps.
perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 36

![]() |

Kalten taps the haft of his longaxe on the floor in measured beats. "May none disturb your rest again." he offers to the tomb before turning to join Teeny.

GM Ietsuna |

Assumed that you followed Mr Teeny to the room in the center of the map
Mr Teeny sees that the stairway is blocked off and impassable and so moves to look at the door to the central chamber. Finding no traps he peeks inside.
In the center of this circular room is a platform overlooking a shallow pit. Inside the pit is a heavily damaged sarcophagus and a broken skeleton.
